Caveman Steak!

We're pulling out all the stops for this flavorful steak cooked right on the coals!
Caveman-Style Steak
Steaks (we used Certified Angus Beef 14 oz Rib eyes)
Red River Ranch Seasoning (or all purpose seasoning of your choice)
Corn, bell peppers for side (optional)
6 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1/4 cup white wine plus more for cooking (we used Hatch Green Chile White Wine: www.hatchchilewines.com/our-wi...)
If using corn on the cob, keep it in the husk and soak in water for about 20 minutes before cooking.
Season all the sides of the steaks well and rub in. Cover and let rest until ready to use.
Dig a hole in the ground approximately 2' long x 10" w x 10" deep. Fill with hardwood or hardwood lump (we used hardwood lump charcoal in this video). Burn down until nearly all the coals turn white. Note: depending on how many steaks you're cooking you may need a large cooking area.
Fan the coals before placing food on them to remove any loose ash.
Place the corn and bell peppers, if using, directly on the coals. Rotate occasionally until the peppers are charred and the corn softens.
Place the steaks directly on the coals and cook about 3 minutes per side.
Meanwhile, Place the butter, garlic and horseradish in a cast iron skillet. Place over the heat and stir until melted and just slightly browned. Stir in the 1/4 cup white wine.
Place the steaks in the skillet and cook about 1 -2 minutes per side. Add a splash more wine while cooking. Let rest a few minutes before cutting and serving. Pour remaining sauce over the steaks and serve (or dip).

I can't believe this channel has been around so long and I'm just finding it today. Kent - you're entertaining and know your food! The missus knows how to run a camera and she deserves credit too! How to cook like a caveman:
Step One: lets open the Yeti Cooler....
And then add many different spices, butter, and wine. Although, I'm sure he meant just cooking on an open flame in general.
No clue why those things are 400 bucks.. ridiculous
Duh,yetis are bearproof

@@DoomWar1 because fools pay $400 for them....
@@DoomWar1 Home Depot sold these(Store SKU #1003980149) for $37 over Christmas. Bought 4. Shipped to the store for free. Put one up against my neighbors Yeti and it kept ice the same, if not better(we could have weighed it). I use one in my truck bed for shopping food items, one's in the camper, gave one as a present, and one's in the garage. I'm not a fan of the handle so I took it off the ones in the truck and camper. I love this guys accent
Didnt know I had one LOL
I was getting ready to comment the same thing.. And Kent Rollins you most certainly do, and it's awesome!!
Cowboy Kent Rollins your accent reminds me of the Texas Panhandle? I was raised there!
@CuddleFIsh A mix of both. I live in Tennessee and he sounds similar to what I hear around where I live. But with a little south-western flavor to it. There is a difference, but not much. He's from Oklahoma, I think. I thought Texas though.
"He done died once; I ain't gonna kill it twice." Love it! And "It's goin' ta git Western here." My favorite quote about cooking steaks: "Show it the stove and let it run away in terror." Though my stepfather, who was a cowboy, used to say, "When it's brown, it's cookin'; when it's black, it's done."
Kent, I just tried this and I’m in love with this technique 😍 it works perfect!! Thank you for sharing this! 🤠
