Possibly my favorite horror film of all time! I’ve always wanted to gather a bunch of friends and watch Scream and have some Jiffy Pop, candy and drinks. It’s the perfect hangout film to watch every Halloween. You should review the Scary Movie series after your Scream series reviews! Also, I hope they release the Uncut version of Scream since it hasn’t gotten a physical release since the days of Laserdisc.
From what I know The Last House On The Left was also a very essential horror flick, that made a lot of controversy back in a day. His New Nightmare is an important movie as well.
I think the scariest part about Scream is that it’s something that could actually happen- there is no supernatural element to it (like Jason, Michael Myers, Freddy, etc). I wish I could remember how I felt watching this movie for the first time, especially when the killers were revealed. I was probably surprised about Stu, but not so much about Billy. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched the original, but why was Steve getting to Casey’s house not long before her parents got home? Wouldn’t he have gotten there not long after they left instead?
I took that as he was there earlier but the killers were there before him and tied him up when he showed up. Casey didn't know he made it. this is similar to Neil. after Neil tells Sidney that he's going out of town, we see him again in the end with the same clothes on. while Billy was in Sidney's room talking about how the exorcist reminded him of their relationship, Neil was being kidnapped
I was a freshman in H.S. when Scream came out (I know, I'm old) As horror fans, my friends and I never saw anything like this. Felt like something that could really happen and that scared the shit out of us. This movie and franchise holds a special place in my nostalgic lil heart lol. Up until Scream, most of the horror films I loved all had some supernatural element. This was just about a bunch of kids just like us.
Wes craven was a horror GENIUS. He made not one but, TWO successful and iconic horror slashers that both went down in pop culture history. Both Freddy Krueger and ghostface are now just staple in CLASSIC horror characters. R.I.P Wes craven the genius of horror
Also loved how .. Wes craven never let the cast see Roger Jackson ( Ghostface voice ) because he wanted to capture the true fright and sense of sacredness these kids felt talking on the phone! Brilliant decision!
I'm literally counting down the days until I could be able to see this This is one horror movie I might have to go to the theaters to see because that's how much I love this franchise!
I was just getting into the horror genre a few years ago and one night I decided to watch for the 1st time Scream the first 3 where on Netflix. After watching the first one I immediately watched the 2nd and 3rd one and had stayed up all night to watch them. Ever since it’s been one of my favorite franchises! The original Scream is a Horror Masterpiece.
The best part of my day is when I see the notification that Cris uploads a video. The first time I came upon his channel was with the hype for the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer and I instantly knew Cris was the best. Put his reviews aside his personality makes up how good his content is. It's crazy to think that this amazing creator came from a Civil War review. Thanks for always being there for your fans! ❤ and you deserve an oscar for those cringey intros
Scream was the first slasher I ever saw; then Scream 4 added a twist that was fresh. Scream 2 is a classic slasher sequel; and I still need to see Scream 3.
Definitely agree when it comes to Nev Campbell she stuck with this franchise from the beginning and that is commendable....no other franchise can say that
Looking back it's kinda dumb that she's in 4 and 5 heck even 3....I just find it unrealistic...even 2 is hard to believe timing wise...scream needed to change casts every movie to keep it fresh and believable....
I am so glad you made this video. The new movie and your videos have given my love for these films a new life. I've rewatched the others a couple of times recently and I even bought two new Ghostface masks. When you called the girl in the bathroom "cochina" was the best. Thank you for that.
He was also great in Serial Mom with Kathleen Turner as the lead and Lilliard plays her son in the movie. Give that a watch if u haven't yet. Turner plays an amazing serial killer who's a mom hence the title.
Thank you so much for making this review Chris, I recently rewatched all the Scream movies and now I'm excited to hear your opinion on them (I'm personally a huge fan of the series and looking forward to seeing the new movie)
@@FranciscoRodriguez-iq9cb between scream 1+2 if I had to choose which opening I like best it would be the Scream 2 opening. I still enjoy the first Scream movie opening and have no negatives against it though.
We need a scream where it's ghostface vs ghostface trying to get credit and we see both people who are ghostface planning to beat the other...that's a new concept that would be meta and fun...or have a whole fakeout cult of them so all the deaths we see in the new sequel were fake outs and all occur around the main character to trick them scare them and make them not assume or suggest everyone is in on it lol
I was the only one who thought for a long time that the first Scary Movie and Scream were the same, as a kid? I was deeply impressed the first time I saw Screm, even though it was long after the official launch.
I would love for Stu to come back in Scream 5, but I would find it weird as hell that no one had ever brought up his survival until that point. It's too bad they didn't mention something in one of the sequels without banking on it yet, just to leave that door open for future installments.
Thank you!!! It’s just been too long. And there has been ZERO talk or him alive. If he was still alive all this time, He would be the first person I would check in on when killings started back every time!

Love this movie so much, one of my main horror roots! Like you i own several ghostface masks and figures myself haha, that mask just brings me back to being a kid in the late 90s. Great review Chris, i always enjoy hearing your perspective on things i love.
We celebrated Halloween, we web-slinged with Spider-Man, and now we Scream with Ghostface's unfinished murderous business. But also, I didn't expect to review the whole Scream franchise which I'm hoping to see the review for Scream 2.
So I actually hadn't seen Scream until October 16th, 2021. Growing up I loved horror movies, but for some reason Scream was just one of those ones I missed, no one I knew ever really talked about it. I got married on October 15th, and we went the next day to Hawaii for our honeymoon. My wife was asleep on the plane so I was scrolling through the movies looking for something to watch that she wouldn't mind me watching without her, and she doesn't like horror films so I was like "This is my chance to watch something scary." And I ALMOST put on Conjuring 3 before I was like "Ehh let me scroll all the way to the end of the list just in case" and I saw Scream, I'm a fan of this channel so I've seen Chris mention that he loves the franchise, and I was like sure, let's do this. I absolutely fell in love with it. For the rest of our honeymoon at random points in time I would be like, "oh and then this happened and I loved this character and ahhh it was so good!" I am EXTREMELY pumped for this new movie! Been catching up ever since, only need to watch Scream 4 now!
I think that scream has one of the greatest plot twists in movie history! I absolutely love the first one but the sequels weren’t they intriguing because of new characters. Although I like scream 4 because it is a new era, also I didn’t see the twist coming too. Can’t wait for the new movie tho🤞
My thoughts: _Scream_ - Probably my favorite slasher flick. _Scream 2_ - Surprisingly good, but man, I'm still salty about Randy. _Scream 3_ - Hated the first 20 minutes so much, I refuse to finish the movie. _Scream 4_ - A little too stuffed, but damn, is this better than 3.
Scream 1996 is one of my favourite movies. I watched it first this year on Halloween for the 25 year re-release and from the first scene I was like so many I was in love! As someone who doesn't really get horror this movie welcomed me into that world.
Absolutely love how Matthew Lillard's "you hit me with the phone dick!" was by complete chance as Skeet Ulrich actually hit him with the phone by mistake when he threw it and this was Lillards genuine reaction.
Damn near my favorite movie franchise, especially horror movie rise. I love it, the original is perfection and I rewatch it A LOT! I’m excited for the reboot & hope that it has the same atmosphere & tension building as the original…some of the sequels lost that to me but I still watch those too!
I love these films. I met Matthew Lillard in 2017. He was supposed to be in Scream 3, but couldn't be due to a script rewrite. He even recited one of my favorite lines from the film. We had a big chat about Scream. He really nice.
Being 14 when this came out and already being a horror fan this was a big part of my adolescence. All my friends loved it and we watched it countless times. Super excited about the new one and hopefully it doesn't get spoiled for me. Damn internet!
This movie is iconic! Everything from the opening scene, the acting, and the meta commentary on the slasher genre of horror movies is what makes Scream (1996) one of my favourite horror films of all time!
Me and my family have been watching the previous 4 movies in preparation for 5cream. We even bought merch (shirts, pants, etc.) to wear/take to the movie. Super excited to watch Ghostface on the big screen! #5cream
I was 6... My older cousin was staying over and told me about a scary movie that was on HBO at the time... Wow... That opening scene changed entirely how I saw movies. I asked my parents to buy me the VHS and every time they took me to Blockbuster, I would rent a different horror movie that was mentioned in Scream! I was so amazed that a movie could make me feel so many emotions... So much so that I would even begin writing my own short stories and scripts by the age of 9
Beyond excited for the movie for a few reasons.. 1st it my all-time favorite horror series.. in 1996 I can remember this movie being in the theaters and then going to blockbuster video to be rented , but the demand was still so incredible to see it... so it went back into the theaters for another 3-5 months and it still made tons of cash!! All of them are good , but in my opinion.. 1 , 3 , 4 are the real plot of this story.. 2 was decent.. the killers .. ahhh.. but 1 , 3 and 4.. are the best.. high expectations for 5!!
I don't think Chris thought it through when he said he'd be friends with Stu 🤣 with his love for movies and stuff he'd be the Randy of the group and we all know what happened to Randy 👀
I saw the first movie on bootleg and I was 10 years old and it was my favorite horror movie from the beginning! I remember going to see it again in the movies and when it got rereleased after it left theaters and came back I wanted to go again; but my mom told me you already saw it twice you don’t need to see it anymore. 🤣🤣 so I just watched it on bootleg like hundreds of times until it came out on regular VHS and I brought it.
I like Lilliard in Scream and he was also in Serial Mom as the son of Kathleen Turners lead character Mrs. Sutphin. I was never a fan of him as Shaggy or for that matter I never was a fan of Scooby-Doo all together.
The thing I love most about the Scream franchise is the simplicity of it all. It doesn't revolve around a mindless killer or an immortal being or a cursed object/person. The story is kept tight and personal with no need to go off track. The horror doesn't just come from the kills, it also comes from the mind games of who could be under the mask. The sequels had a few missteps but they still kept me engaged to the overall story. It is definitely my favorite horror slasher of all time!! ❤🔪
I know it sounds crazy but I would absolutely love it for Scream 2 that Billy and Stu came back for the sequel while Sid thought both of them are dead and it would be interesting to see Billy and Stu seeing that she got new boyfriend.
Funny u mention that because here's a fun fact in Scream 2 Stu can actually be seen in the background during the party scene when Randy offers a cocktail to the ladies.
People think its weird that I feel some kind of comfort from horror movies like Halloween and Scream. But I love watching Scream on a bad day to escape from whatever bothers me. Its funny, it’s suspenseful, and at times even scary. I think this movie is genius, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, its clever, its chaotic, its ahhh! I love it. Watched this movie about a hundred times and its still entertaining. Love.
19:27 Fun fact: The actress actually fitted through the cat door, but she had to pretend she didn't. So it doesn't make sense to say "oh that's stupid because no one can fit".

Love the scream franchise especially this movie, Matthew lillard is one of my all time favourite actors, he's definitely in my top 10
I like Lilliard in Scream and he was also in Serial Mom as the son of Kathleen Turners lead character Mrs. Sutphin. I was never a fan of him as Shaggy or for that matter I never was a fan of Scooby-Doo all together.
Scream is one of my most favorite horror movies I still watch it some times
The only thing that makes me to not give Scream a perfect 10, is the făcut that the killer stab themselves before finish their plan.
That was a major part of their plan though, to make themselves appear like victims/survivors.
@@nolaray1062 I know. But they can do that after kill Sidney , and sets everything up for her father
Man I love your videos dude! You’ve got a lot of charisma and you always crack me up. Glad I found your channel
Really appreciate you saying that thank you🙏🏻
Literally can’t stop watching your vids man your my #1 fav UA-camr
The thing I love most about the Scream franchise is the simplicity of it all. It doesn't revolve around a mindless killer or an immortal being or a cursed object/person.
The story is kept tight and personal with no need to go off track. The horror doesn't just come from the kills, it also comes from the mind games of who could be under the mask.
The sequels had a few missteps but they still kept me engaged to the overall story. It is definitely my favorite horror slasher of all time!! ❤🔪
So excited for Scream next week 🙌🏽🔥😱🩸
15:00 “death by staff infection” shout out deadmeatjames😂
14:56 Chris is that a hint you are gonna be a substitute to dead meat while James is having his wedding. Cause I L♥️VE DEAD MEAT too!
The dead meat reference killed me, was just thinking how you to are my favorite horror source material channels, mucho love
3c you are the only UA-camr that can make a movie review so funny
When he mentioned Dead Meat it was like watching my two worlds colliding lol
I know it sounds crazy but I would absolutely love it for Scream 2 that Billy and Stu came back for the sequel while Sid thought both of them are dead and it would be interesting to see Billy and Stu seeing that she got new boyfriend.
Funny u mention that because here's a fun fact in Scream 2 Stu can actually be seen in the background during the party scene when Randy offers a cocktail to the ladies.
I REALLY hope those theories about Matthew Lillard being Ghostface in Scream 5 are true, he NEEDS to comeback!
LOVE YOU 3C! I love watching your videos and keep up the good work!
Love.
Steve Harrington : I was a Hated character to a loved character.
Gale Weathers : hold my camera man 🎥
Sidney is Scream. The new kids can just take a seat.
Alright alright, how many takes did it take to get that "I'm feeling woozy here" in the beginning??😂 Love it man. The OG film is always the best.🔪
Literally watched this a second time right away because your videos make my day :)
I love this channel so much! It's so entertaining!
I love the Scream franchise. I hope we get to see some "found" Randy Meeks footage in the new movie.
The was the best review yet! Can’t wait for the rest 😂

Fun fact: The actress actually fitted through the cat door, but she had to pretend she didn't. So it doesn't make sense to say "oh that's stupid because no one can fit".
Exactly
I love when you do the reviews. GREAT CONTENT
