Longlegs is a very creepy movie for sure. I think it’s at least effective in that way. I hope this makes sense, but the movie really plays on your senses. Sound being the most impactful in my experience.
Man, all I can really say is thank you. Couldn’t find a better way at to cap off my Halloween night then with this video and a couple drinks. Cheers, and happy Halloween!
The Substance is easily my favourite horror movie of the year. Body horror aren't usually my thing, not because they're bad but i just couldn't watch it all that much but The Substance was the first ever body horror I experienced in a theater with a packed crowd and let me tell you, it's easily one of the greatest theater experience of my entire life. The last 30 minutes was so crazy, it was the first time where I accidentally screamed during the monster final form reveal. It was so gross, so creepy yet so well done. The fact that it was prostetics around the actress is so amazing. I hope it gets the award attention that it deserves 🙌
Is it weird that I didn’t feel gross out while watching the movie? I ate through the movie without problem. I didn’t feel creeped out or scared. I don’t feel grossed out anymore which brought the movie down for me. I enjoyed the story but I don’t like it as much as some people unfortunately
While ‘I saw the tv glow’ really isn’t a horror movie, the ending might be one of the most dread inducing scenes I’ve ever seen, with having one of the greatest soundtracks for me
51:30 the reason the younger and older versions were having issues remembering is because they did not see themselves as one body, the second they saw themselves as two separate beings is where the disconnects started
I personally ADORED Mr. Crocket. It was easily one of my favorite horror films in a while, the idea was so creative, the visuals are awesome, Mr Crocket himself is an instant icon in my eyes, he’s such a fun character with a great performance and so much potential, I hope he gets more recognition and that he becomes a modern horror icon like M3GAN or Art the Clown.
i needed this man i just got out of a 8 hour 3-11 shift on my favorite holiday and this just made my mood go up again we back baby!! fucking halloween!!🎃🎃
You’re the man, 3C! Thank you for your videos! I genuinely look forward to your new videos and appreciate and value your input and perspective. Love the new studio too! Happy Holidays to you, sir!
Thanks Cris for putting all of the hard work in to give us a Ultimate Review video of all the horror movies you watched for Spook Ya Mamma Month. Many Thanks Elliot
Dude, thank you. Ive watched 3 movies from your list that i was previously unaware of, and really loved all 3 so far. I feel like i go out of my way to make sure im not missing good horror as it comes out and clearly ive still missed quite a bit
TOP 5: (Theatrical) 1. Abigail 2. Smile 2 3. The Substance 4. Cucckoo 5. Speak no evil If Alien Romulus is considered a horror film than its number 1 or 2
I loved I SawThe TV Glow and thought it was about the existential horror of nostaglia. Like it puts a sparkling sheen over what was actually traumatic and depressing. Also ever since i watched this ive been silently contending for Justice Smith as Iceman in the mcu
Hey Cris Amber Alert actually did have a limited theater release on Sep 27, 2024 and later on streaming.... Oh you forgot to mention Megan Fox's new Sci-fic Thriller film "Subservience" which I heard was pretty good. In the Netflix film "Don't Move" that was my classmate Kelsey Asbille who was the lead actress in this film. I think in "Women Of The Hour" film focus on Anna Kendrick's character because she was about to go on a date with that serial killer and had a creepy feeling about him. She later changed her mind which saved her life. FUN FACT: Tubi movies are owned by Fox corporation and also carry programming from (Disney, Sony, Paramount, Warner Brothers ect) is the reason why sometimes they have really good cinematic films.
Will you do a V/H/S Franchise review from 1 to 6? It'll be kinda interesting and what are your thoughts on the found footage and anthology aspects mix together, two of my favorite genres, and the installments along the way. I'm really a fan of this franchise right now and I wish I could watch the latest movies on Shudder but thanks to the UA-cam gods they're now free. 🙏😊
I can’t believe you did not get any of the references to Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show on the pink opaque all the way down to the font that they use… 😅 you reached all the way around the corner and got goosebumps. Lol
my top 5 horror movies for 2024 were: The Substance Smile 2 Strange Darling waiting to see Heretic as I think it will be on the list. Also waiting for Nosferatu as it may close out the list for me. Longlegs had a good start, but I think they revealed Nic Cage's character too early. I was expecting him to be more scarier. I fell asleep on Strangers Chapter 1; they could just do straight to streaming for the next two. It doesn't feel like anything new is being brought. I watched all Terrifier movies; good gore, T3 gore was disgusting but no real plot in any of them. Carved was boring. Time Cut was okay but Totally Killer was way better. I liked Don't Move; I only knew a little about it but I enjoyed it. Great video.
Was there a Wolverine Movie In There Somewhere because that’s my horror movie currently because it’s so traumatizing I never got a full Chris video on them 👀
We watched Oddity when it came out in theaters and it was a MUCH BETTER viewing experience than watching at home. The sound design was great and we were tense the entire time. It's a shame it had such a short time in the theater (a week I think?). It definitely deserved a longer theater release
I liked the first third of Carved. It was great that it got to the cool killer pumpkin pretty quickly. But because of that it needed to ramp up to something crazier for the finale and it didn't at all. They really ran out of ideas and budget. It was based on a short from 2018 and they should have just made a 30 minute short instead of trying to drag it out to full feature length.
Enjoyed Blink Twice, Cuckoo, Woman of the Hour and Salem's Lot. Didn't like Lowlifes, Daddy's Head, Azrael, Time Cut, Don't Move, I Saw the TV Glow, Caddo Lake, Mr Crocket and The Substance. Loved Oddity and Strange Darling.
Smile 2 Terrifier 3 The Substance (Only these 3 my favorite horror movies of 2024 so far) Also Honorable Mentions: Longlegs, A Quiet Place Day One. I really enjoyed Oddity too but it was awfully predictable for me from the very early on which turned out what i had predicted lol But it has some good scares and the story overall was still great. Almost... close in my list but couldn't because that predictable storyline so.
I just realized that the chick in I Saw In The TV Glow is Cassie from Atypical 😂 I saw this film in theaters and it's one of those movies that live rent free in your mind. I personally related on a neurodivergency level as I often tend to "mask" a lot vs. letting my true self out. Good stuff.
Mr. Crocket was unexpectedly fantastic. Without the guy playing Mr. Crocket, the movie def falls but he really made the movie and did a great job as a scary villain. Idk if there's been a movie done like this before, but im a huge fan. Like an insane Mr Roger or Hip Hop Harry lmaoo.
Nah the time travel parts of totally killer were the best. Probably the only time I've ever seen a piece of use the Mandela effect correctly. In honestly thought Michael Kennedy wrote totally killer. I really hope Heart Eyes (cowritten by Landon and Kennedy) and Drop (directed by Landon) are a return to form for the both of them.
2:17 actually that’s already a movie (or short) there’s a little spinoff short of monsters versus aliens called “mutant pumpkins from outer space” and it’s better than what this sounds like
I meannnnn Carved wasn’t THAT bad. It reminded me of the Full Moon films, or films like ThanksKilling or Rubber but I thought it was better made than those. I do agree that the comedy in the film did not land lol.
i really wanted to see Substance at the cinema, but after what you just described i'm glad i didn't bc i would've thrown up lol Gotta add It's What's Inside to my watch list and definitely watching Caddo Lake tomorrow, mostly bc of Dylan O'Brien tho, but also interested in the plot.
I watched carved on the day of Halloween and o boy I’m so glad I did that movie has like a small Disney ride and I couldn’t enjoy it more 100% recommend ofc it was a low budget movie with a poor plot and a poor excuse to make a villain but I disagree with what this video said, even though some of the things in this movie were just dumb in a non-enjoyable way there were tons of creative choices that were made in the making of this movie so even though this video may say otherwise I would win 100% recommend at least watching.
I read that sue develops her own mind separate to Elizabeth (apparently it’s very uncommon when on the substance), which is why you see them not remembering what each other had done in the previous week and why Elizabeth can wake up.
Agreed. The first episode was ehh.. Then just got better and solid ending. A good cast, and the use of blood, drama, and complex stories and character development was awesome.
A 50 minute 3c video? We eating GOOD 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Fr🎉🎉🎉🎉
Facts 💪
HE COOKED 🙌
LET HIM NEAR THE STOVE FR
Nah
I watched Longlegs again and found that I appreciated it more, its actually a damn good movie, hopefully Chris comes around on it someday.
I’ll give it another shot
Longlegs is a very creepy movie for sure. I think it’s at least effective in that way. I hope this makes sense, but the movie really plays on your senses. Sound being the most impactful in my experience.
my top 5
🥇- the substance
🥈- i saw the tv glow
🥉- the first omen

Man, all I can really say is thank you. Couldn’t find a better way at to cap off my Halloween night then with this video and a couple drinks. Cheers, and happy Halloween!

The fact that it was prostetics around the actress is so amazing. I hope it gets the award attention that it deserves 🙌
The substance is my favorite movie I saw this year period. And I loved Deadpool and Wolverine!
when i watched the substance, i have become a changed man.
Is it weird that I didn’t feel gross out while watching the movie? I ate through the movie without problem. I didn’t feel creeped out or scared. I don’t feel grossed out anymore which brought the movie down for me. I enjoyed the story but I don’t like it as much as some people unfortunately
Ngl IMO I did not like this movie. I was laughing out loud when the old saggy woman was revealed at the end. It gave me a great laugh lol
I thought it was ok just didn’t like the nudity part
You cut it close Chris. I was losing hope that this video would be released today. But you delivered as always
Yup agree lol. 3C is taking everything too literally.
Almost missed the deadline my friend. What a way to end spook your momma month 🎉
What a stupid comment

Happy Halloween Chris!!

I agree with you on that ending of It’s What’s Inside. Made me feel like the whole movie was just about getting back at your ex or something
That jacket never gets old
I really hope we get a sequel to Mr. Crocket. I agree with you, Chris, he has the potential to be a new horror icon.
Mr crocket is going to be a new famous horror icon
Carved is just the Treehouse of Horror segment where the Great Pumpkin goes on a killing spree.
TOP 5: (Theatrical)
1. Abigail
2. Smile 2
3. The Substance
4. Cucckoo
5. Speak no evil
If Alien Romulus is considered a horror film than its number 1 or 2
Guy laughing in the thriller was Vincent Price 😉
I loved I SawThe TV Glow and thought it was about the existential horror of nostaglia. Like it puts a sparkling sheen over what was actually traumatic and depressing. Also ever since i watched this ive been silently contending for Justice Smith as Iceman in the mcu

We gonna Thrill the internet with this one 🗣️
my top 5 horror movies for 2024 were:
The Substance
Smile 2
Strange Darling
waiting to see Heretic as I think it will be on the list. Also waiting for Nosferatu as it may close out the list for me. Longlegs had a good start, but I think they revealed Nic Cage's character too early. I was expecting him to be more scarier. Great video.
Great video, 20 Horror Movies is a lot. Exactly 20 more than I’ve seen this year.
FINNALY after a month of teasing
Happy Halloween Chris
I was worried this wasn’t coming out this year but I’m happy it did
Was there a Wolverine Movie In There Somewhere because that’s my horror movie currently because it’s so traumatizing I never got a full Chris video on them 👀
I really loved I saw the tv glow. It's not for everyone but it's the most unique film I've seen all this year.
Soundtrack is amazing too.
Happy Halloween Cris
Oh my god I wore the exact same costume for Halloween. Although I was being David pumpkins
We watched Oddity when it came out in theaters and it was a MUCH BETTER viewing experience than watching at home. The sound design was great and we were tense the entire time. It's a shame it had such a short time in the theater (a week I think?). It definitely deserved a longer theater release

Thank you Chris for this video. Great list of movies
Smile 2
Terrifier 3
The Substance
(Only these 3 my favorite horror movies of 2024 so far)
Also Honorable Mentions: Longlegs, A Quiet Place Day One.
I really enjoyed Oddity too but it was awfully predictable for me from the very early on which turned out what i had predicted lol But it has some good scares and the story overall was still great. Almost... close in my list but couldn't because that predictable storyline so.
love the vids 3c especially during the spook ya momma season lol
I just realized that the chick in I Saw In The TV Glow is Cassie from Atypical 😂
I saw this film in theaters and it's one of those movies that live rent free in your mind. I personally related on a neurodivergency level as I often tend to "mask" a lot vs. letting my true self out. Good stuff.
*Happy Spook-Yo-Momma Chris! Each like is one Momma spooked🗣️🔥🎃🙏*
I loved Blink Twice. I will say there should be a trigger warning, but it's not as explicit as I've seen in other films.
Happy Spook ya mama season 3C! 🎉 🍿
Caddo Lake, Oddity, Don’t Move, Woman of the Hour and The Substance were all very entertaining for different reasons.
Next year you gotta give us a countdown of 31 movies to watch before Halloween

That TV glow movie sounds kind of dope. I want to check it out.
its amazing cant recommend enough. not super horror but the story is great
I am now awaiting a 3C Vincent Price film review.
The Substance & Longlegs were both insane!
“The guy from the thriller video is laughing”… too bad that guy didn’t do anything before that thriller video 😒😂
2:17 actually that’s already a movie (or short) there’s a little spinoff short of monsters versus aliens called “mutant pumpkins from outer space” and it’s better than what this sounds like
Vincent Price is the person who does the thriller laugh and rap 😝❤️
Awesome list. 2024 has been a good year for horror movie fans! 🎃
You and me both, Chris. Strange Darling and The Substance FTW
HAPPY HALLOWEEN SZN 3CFAM
I should have been taking notes the whole time 😂
I meannnnn Carved wasn’t THAT bad. It reminded me of the Full Moon films, or films like ThanksKilling or Rubber but I thought it was better made than those. I do agree that the comedy in the film did not land lol.
Dangit. Daddy’s head sounds like such a creepy concept. One of those movies I’d be okay with having a redo from someone else
Happy Spook ya mama season🎃👻
i really wanted to see Substance at the cinema, but after what you just described i'm glad i didn't bc i would've thrown up lol
Gotta add It's What's Inside to my watch list and definitely watching Caddo Lake tomorrow, mostly bc of Dylan O'Brien tho, but also interested in the plot.
I SAW THE TV GLOW LESGOOOOOOOOOOO
Just watched Smile 2!!! Thought it was pretty great!!!
The stanstance is pumping it up
I watched carved on the day of Halloween and o boy I’m so glad I did that movie has like a small Disney ride and I couldn’t enjoy it more 100% recommend ofc it was a low budget movie with a poor plot and a poor excuse to make a villain but I disagree with what this video said, even though some of the things in this movie were just dumb in a non-enjoyable way there were tons of creative choices that were made in the making of this movie so even though this video may say otherwise I would win 100% recommend at least watching.
3c feeding the streets with this one👀🔥💯
I read that sue develops her own mind separate to Elizabeth (apparently it’s very uncommon when on the substance), which is why you see them not remembering what each other had done in the previous week and why Elizabeth can wake up.
My favorite horror movie this year so far has to be The Substance. Before that, it was Longlegs. Strange Darling was another great one 🔥
Chris When Are Your Spoiler Reviews For Winnie The Pooh Blood And Honey 2 And Transformers One
Finally the substance review 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Bro called Vincent Price the guy from the thriller video 💀
That’s actually Vincent Price laughing in the Thriller intro.
Agreed. The first episode was ehh.. Then just got better and solid ending. A good cast, and the use of blood, drama, and complex stories and character development was awesome.
16:45 well people hated silent night WILL DEFINITELY LOVE THIS😂
Why no Terrifier?
Chris I stopped this video at Lowlifes and went to watch it right away, and 15 minutes in and wow.
