Dom, great episode. Sad that we don’t get to see you foraging anymore. I hope you rethink the decision. Foraging is as old as time, it’s part of Cadoha’s adventures.
I think they have a second seperate channel covering foraging to avoid Karens who complained about killing seaweed🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ on the original channel. You will have to ask Dom for the link..,sorry😘

May I suggest that a Hauptner Hoof Knife , you can get them for left or right handed people, would and does work very well for reaming out caulking in situations where batteries are flat or mains power is not available. The bit that cuts is very similar to the power tool you were using. I used the same one in veterinary practice on cattle and horses for over 30 years and still have it for d.i.y - no it is not a Triggers broom situation! Special sharpening files are available and I think that the knife+file would retail at around £40.
Many jobs on boats are so labour intensive and boring, but this one definitely takes the biscuit! I have non slip deck paint that by comparison will be a breeze. What a great job you’ve’ done though Dom, looks great.
The forward deck isn’t covered by you binimi and doesn’t get saltwater over it when sailing. It’s more open to the elements that’s why it’s in poorer shape. Some boats the thickness of the teak is different also on some boats it’s more like a veneer. So wouldn’t recommend sanding unless you know how thick it is. In the US they use chemicals and a power washer to clean it up and then put oil on it. Only issue with the oil is if you put to much on you’ll get oily footprints on your gel coat. Great video
Teak maintenance is probably the most time-consuming, labor-intensive aspect of maintaining one's boat! And it is right up there with renewing your varnish for looking the best in transition! Am I right in seeing that some of the other caulking strips were shrunken and set below the level of the teak? I have been under the impression that all of the caulking was done first and THEN the sanding took place so that the wood is taken down even and smooth with the caulk. Did your craftsmen happen to mention if there is a difference between the sticking power of the caulk on the remaining caulk compared to the bare teak? If it sticks the same, is it necessary to remove the caulk instead of just "fairing" it over? That acetone must be potent! I've never seen you work as fast as after having wiped down the area! ;) My viewpoint on a sailing channel is enjoying a sailboat as it takes you from adventure to adventure. I personally don't see a need to try to separate your sailing (and maintaining) from your adventuring. It really boils down to whether we like spending our time with you on your channel doing whatever. Everyone varies their activities on their sailing channels. I think I've even seen Rossco out sailing once while building his 40' catamaran, almost by himself with a little help from his family, during his "Life On The Hulls"! So, if it saves any time or effort, keep them on the same channel! We love CaDoHuHa because of her crew! I don't know how British (Scottish) humor is passed in the DNA but you wound up with it and you should stick with it and be grateful! We certainly are!
I wonder, a theory. The sub structure on the fore deck is probably way more flexible than the cock pit. Maybe that is why the deck is worse than the cockpit?
Well it’s pretty old teak and was roughly 10mm thick in most places before I started, I don’t think I removed more than 1mm tops, but I’ll be sure to check now you’ve asked 👌🏼
Please Dom, bring foraging back to the main channel. foraging, hunter gathering, is part of who we are as a species, its as old as we as a species. sailing around the coast of England foraging and gathering, nothing more than you need to bring sustenance to yourself and family. Doing it as we have, over hundreds of thousands of years. Anyone who has complained about this content should be ashamed.
I hear you, but s quite hard not to sand it when your replaced so much caulking. Also the teak was 10mm thick, even after all this time, so it seemed like it could take a little sanding without too much problem.

Wow….that is an amazing transformation…. Looks great…thanks for sharing.
Dom, I can feel the pain in the back. I noticed there is a gorgeous old yacht behind you.
Nice job, Dom. Wishing you, Carly and new crew all the very best.
Great stuff - hard work but a lovely result. The advantage to an older boat is the thickness of teak for years of beauty 😊
Came up lovely, good job.
1) How about an update on the rest of your crew
2) Would be nice to see more of that beautiful yacht behind you

Found the video very informative on upgrading teak. Thanks
Very well done. Looks like a fantastic job.

lol, lost track of how many times I thought 'Macaulay' when you were talking about caulking
Stunning finish! Great work. I'll head over to "A very british adventure" now!

I may not always comment but I always watch your video's on both channels, nice job on the deck.
Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
Nice job!!
Finally !
Great video.

Nice finish you’ve accomplished! 👌🏼
Great job. Did you seal it after?
Great video Dom. Can we have a Carly, bubba and Hank update please?
Plus what product are you going to treat the teak with??
Patio magic amazon. Brush on teak. Wait a few days. Job done.
Lookin good
Great finish - how many mils did you remove though?

Hi, could you please tell me the name of the Multitool hook blade you used. Thanks
btw, are you going to try to make a patronage to the Annapolis Boat Show in September this year?
Dom, hard work is good work! Yeah, be happy :¬) Webhead USA
What's with the dead minion with the noose around its neck on board at 5:27 lol

Dom. Beginners' mistake. When de-caulking, invite your dentist for the weekend. Job dine😏
Teak looks great but hard work, but great job you get the learning of years we no longer have to wonder how to do it. Heat the damm stuff up. HAHAHA.
where is a baby, he live on board ?
sanding teak deck is always a mistake. I had to replace the teak after 20 years.
