- I could have made this video so much longer, and talked in depth about all the titles....but I've mentioned them SO MANY TIMES this year that you probably knew what all of them were already. So I kept it short and sweet you're welcome.

What I Love is that we all love different stories, and I’m really intrigued about your #1 book of the year!
i am SO HAPPY to see when dimple met rishi on this list!!!!!
Awesome list! The Hate U Give also made my favorites list! I'm currently reading The Secret History because of your recommendation. :) I really hope to read Little Fires Everywhere, The Names They Gave Us, Her Body & Other Parties, and Dress Codes For Small Towns next year!
I’ve had THUG on my shelf for awhile now; i think it’ll be a first priority read for 2018! I’m also planning on reading Small Towns, Far From the Tree, and, based on your recommendation, The Names They Gave Us! I’m excited for all of these ☺️💕
Nicely done! I think this is just the right length, thanks for this!
I’m next on the waiting list at my library for Far From the Tree! Looking forward to it!
I'm so happy that you found so many good books this year! Sadly out of 116 books I've read this year only 6 were 5 stars... That's kinda depressing. Next year I'll try really hard to select better books to read, and not focusing so much on the amount of them.
OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS 😆
So many videos from you and I love it :3! And yes, I finally added "Dress Codes..." to may tbr along with "The Secret History" :D All the best!
I just finished Dress Codes for Small Towns on your recommendation and OMG amazing!!! That friend group is goals in the love they have for each other. 5 stars!
The Names They Gave Us & Little Fires Everywhere are a priority for me this year! When Dimple Met Rishi is also on my TBR. Great list :)
I just added almost all of the books you mentioned to my goodreads to read list ! :) i had a pretty good reading year as well there were some books that ended up on my all time favourites list
Thanks for reminding me to read Dress codes and the names they gave us!
Fantastic choices! Great video as always!
The Marrow Thieves sounds so great! I haven't heard many other people talk about it, but I'm so interested in checking it out!
THUG and The Names They Gave Us are also on my list!! I hadn't heard of The Marrow Thieves before your video but I am so interested to get it and read it.
Little Fires Everywhere. ^_^ I really enjoyed Everything I Never Told You, but after LFE, Celeste Ng is an autobuy author for me. Thanks for reminding me to check out Her Body and Other Parties-glad you loved that one. Great video, and happy New Year, beautiful!🤗🎉🎊
I got A House at the bottom of a Lake and Her Body and Other Parties for Christmas because of you!
I also just got Little Fires Everywhere from my library and I can’t wait to read it. Everything I Never Told You is one of my favorite books ever.
I was able to buy the names they gave us on bookoutlet for black Friday. I also purchased her body and other parties, recently. I'm really interested in reading them next year.
Loved The Hate U Give. I thought it had such an amazing message and I'm glad it was published.
I am hoping to read some Donna tartt and I might get my niece one of her books for her 19th birthday. :)
I tried reading marrow thieves but couldn't get into it. I think that was due to being in a bit of a slump.
Thank you for sharing these books!
Obviously now I have to read all of these! Thanks girl!
I read when dimple met rishi this year and I loved it
Oh my goodness. I had never heard of the marrow thrives but I am going to have to find it. I just read #notyourprincess and it is all about native voices talking about what it means to be strong indigenous women and their experiences in America today. It kind of blew my mind. I was thinking about how I had never heard about half of the struggles they bring up in the book and how I really knew nothing about what it meant to be Native American in the present day. I feel like it was meant to be.
i really need to get to When Dimple Met Rishi! i haven't posted my 2017 favorites quite yet but THUG was #1!!
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS VIDEO.
The secret history is literally my favorite book of all time. I re read it at least twice a year ❤️❤️🖤🖤❤️
Narrowing it down to 10 is hard but i'll try.
1. Strange the Dreamer
2. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (reread)
3. The Raven King
4. The Heart of Betrayal
5. Daughter of Smoke and Bone
6. Illuminae
7. Hawkeye, Volume IV (reread)
8. All the Crooked Saints
9. The Scorpio Races
10. Two by Two
There are so many good books on this list!!!
Since you had so many 5 star books, did you find that most of the books you chose to include here were ones you read later in the year?
Runwright Reads Interesting stats to look at! My top 10 books came from February, May, May, May, August, August, September, October, November, and December. It's funny cause everytime I thought I had solidified my top 10 in the last few months of the year, a new one would show up and bump something off the list!
Love Far from the tree!! Such a gorgeous novel! Names they gave us and The hate u give are also really good books. Will check out the other books in near future :D
I LOVED A House At The Bottom Of The Lake ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so happy Dress Codes is your number one! It made it onto my list as well, although not quite as high up. Have you checked out Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy yet? I think based on your general tastes and your love for Dress Codes, it might be something you'd really enjoy! It's my number two :p
The only book I read of that stack was 'When Dimple Met Rishi' I didn't like that book very much. I do have The Hate You Give, which I hope to read maybe already in January. I also really want to get to Little Fires Everywhere.
I'm happy you had such a good reading year. Mine was pretty great as well. I haven't filmed my Top 10 yet, but I hope to find some time to do so today :)
I have both The Secret History and The Goldfinch on my TBR thanks to your recommendations.
I need to read Little Fires Everywhere - I've heard such amazing things!
I'm pretty sure The Secret History is going to be #3 on my list as well! I didn't read anywhere near as much as I usually do, so I only ended up giving 3 books 5 stars, and I'm not quite sure where they all fall, but I thiiiiink The Secret History is going to be #3.
How easy is Dress codes for small towns to read, if english is not your first language?
I'm almost finished with THUG and I love it!!
YAS THUG!!
I think the only one of those books that I have on my TBR is The Hate U Give, but I am incredibly not-wanting-to-read-it. I usually read Fantasy, mostly Urban Fantasy, because I need that escape. (I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder, as well as three severe anxiety disorders.)
So I think THUG might be too real for me, if that makes sense. Also, my best friend is black. (We've known one another for 30 years and are both now over 40.) So I don't think I need to read THUG to be educated. And I just don't want to be devastated by something so real.
So I think I've talked myself into taking THUG off of my TBR. Thanks, Kayla! 😍😙❤
I really would like to read The Hate You Give and The Secret History!
I have a favourite books of the year video up on my channel! Both of us seemed to love The Secret History!
Reading The Hate U Give next!
Little Fires Everywhere is my favorite book of the year!!
I must have missed something with When Dimple Met Rishi. I was realllllly looking forward to it, but couldn’t even finish reading it because I disliked it so much.
A book that I loved and a lot of people aren't talking about was The Agony of Bun O'Keefe. It was a short but powerful story for me.
it's also by a Canadian author and takes place in Newfoundland in the 1960s.
Donna Tartt is amazing (even though The Little Friend was kind of...boring, it was still interesting.) The Secret History was the first book I read in 2017 and I still think of it. Plus the ending is just so weird and good.
YESSS THE SECRET HISTORY
When dimple met rishi woo
I liked your channel👍🏼❤️
Lol i can simply see what the next book would be by her shelf (Dress Codes for Small Towns is peaking)
I loved THUG as well. I will probably get to When Dimple Met Rishi this year since I own it and am considering Her Body, Far From the Tree, Little Fires Everywhere, and Dress Codes if my library has them.
My favorites are here: jncahill.wordpress.com/2018/01/04/my-top-reads-in-2017/
So many interesting books.
Am I the only one who thinks when dimple met Rishi is overrated?
x y nope! I had to DNF it.
Here in 2024 whattt…😂❤
