That intro was phenomenal! I can only imagine how long the editing must've taken. You did an amazing job. I'm planning on rereading Illuminae and Gemina before Obsidio comes out. I felt like Godsgrave felt like a whole other level than Nevernight. I mean it was just richer and I was dying for more...that cliffhanger
Thank you so much! It was a little fiddly, but I had a lot of fun doing it :) My thoughts exactly! It didn't feel like it was trying to follow along in NN's footsteps, but really stands out on its own. Can't wait for book #3, the end of GG almost killed me!
I trust your reviews and recommendations so much. I don't think there has been a book I've read that you have recommended that I didn't like! Also you just made me have the silliest "aww she is wonderful" kinda smile on my face during the intro. Thank you for being on booktube!
Fantastic! I love Nevernight, Godsgrave, Red Rising, Golden Son, The Name of the Wind, Strange The Dreamer, A Court of Mist and Fury, Sabriel, Gemina and Moxie! A couple of them I haven't gotten on with yet. And a couple you listed I wrote down to add to my list!! Fantastic reads 😊
That intro was probably one of the best things I've seen!! It was so great. I loved it. Red Rising is also on my TBR. I'm so glad to hear good things about it!! The ACOTAR series is a bit intimidating to me because of its lengths but everyone loves it so I'm hesitant lol. I would love to see a review on They Both Die at the End. I haven't been sure about it. I've heard mixed reviews but it also does intrigue me. I've never cried for a book yet but maybe that would change that lol. I've been so excited to read Every Heart a Doorway. I've heard such good things about it!!!
That INTRO is life. Loved seeing all your favourite reads, I read Red Rising this year and absolutely loved it too!! Also the Every Heart a Doorway series is seriously high up on my TBR :D Ready Player One and Lord of Shadows were some of my favourite books of the year!!
I actually say just one, I had many other favorites, but this one made it to my favorite books of all time list, so it's special :) And it is Peter and Wendy (aka Peter Pan) by J.M. Barrie - I was so surprised by how much I LOVED it!! Also that intro was AMAZING!! That must have take so much work, but it looks really GOOD!!!
Girrrrlll Sarah J. Maas has changed my life! I included the Court series in my favorites video, as well as Heartless by Marissa Meyer! So in love with high fantasy books.
That intro must've taken you ages! Amazing! Aaah I'm so excited to read Nevernight, because it's on my 2018 tbr! Strange the Dreamer is so high on my tbr. You read so many amazing books!
That intro was so cool!! Loved it! As for my favourite books of 2017, I have 4: Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel The Enchanted by Rene Denfield Room by Emma Donoghue The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman Unfortunately, 2017 wasn't a great reading year for me, but I really enjoyed those books. They were all really original and interesting and stood apart from the rest.
OMFG! What was that intro?? 💕😍💕😍💕😍 I re read most of Cassandra Clare’s TMI books and by the end of the year I finished the series with Clockwork Princess and CoHF... best books ever!!! Now I’m waiting for my copy of Tales from the Shadwohunters Academy to arrive and then Lady Midnight! 😍😍😍
Spectacular intro. You've convinced me to check out quite a few of these books, especially Strange the Dreamer (but I'll have to order the UK edition because that cover is so much more beautiful than the US one :p ). My favorite reads of the year included Lovecraft Country and the Queen of the Tearling series.
The start of this video was fantastic. I know how much that takes to film and edit so you have my up most respect for the time that would have taken you to do that
1. That intro though! 🙌🏻 2. You WANT to read ACOWAR. The finale falls a tad flat, but you will LOVE when Feyre is in the Spring Court. Also the world building is taken to the next level!
Great intro!! LOVE IT!! Planning on re-reading Red Rising again before Iron Gold. It's out in 2 days!!!!! I've been so tempted to pick up Garth Nix's books. My fave's are going up on my channel later on this week :)
I loved his Keys to the Kingdom series when I was younger and I'm so surprised I hadn't picked up Sabriel sooner! Can't wait to continue reading the series.
So many books! I really liked the wrath and the dawn too. I can’t wait to read some of these. I recently just got gifted the first two books in the ACOTAR series so can’t wait to hop onto that bandwagon. And Moxie sounds so good - definitely on my radar now.
I loveeee the intro!! ♥ And omg, out of all of these, I've only read one (ACOMAF), omg what am I doing with my life, I *need* to step up my reading game, haha!
I love that you're talking about books that I haven't heard other book tubers talk about l. Sometimes I feel like booktubrs only talk about the same books other book tubers are talking about
I mostly had a chill reading year, so I didn't really read a lot of books published in 2017. One of the books that I enjoyed that's not mentioned in my Top 3 Books of 2017 video was The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. I read it at the end of the year and it was a great read for the winter month. Would recommend the audiobook since it's written in a fairytale style. Also recommend The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan. He's always good for an adventure story. :)
I can't wait to read Every Heart a Doorway and the second book. I like that kinda of literature. I'm surprised there isn't more of that genre written. I need to get it asap.
Came here to echo everybody saying Great intro! haha I still need to read Nevernight, hopefully it'll happen this year! One of my favorites from 2017 was The Mothers by Brit Bennett :)
Thanks for so many reccomendations. I liked court of must and fury too as well as they both die at the end. Gave then both 4.5 I believe but I still loved them.
I loved The Lightning Struck Heart! You should definitely check it out! The Goodreads reviews are amazing. But if you read it YOU NEED to listen to the audiobook. It's the best audiobook I've ever listened.
Go read a court of wings and ruin. You'll love it. Maybe. It's more political and strategy of war but it's incredible- a court of mist and fury is my favorite. I'm kicking myself for not reading the series sooner but also wishing I'd waited because I'm pulling my hair out for a court of frost and starlight (I think that's the title) also if you haven't read the throne of glass series highly recommend it because it's another series I wish I'd read sooner because I am OBSESSED!
Can I please suggest that you read Sarah J. Maas’s other book series Throne Of Glass if you haven’t already. Each book gets better and better and if you liked ACOTAR, you will love TOG. The fist few books In the series are a bit slow, but it gets better.
Do you have any tips for slow readers? I literally struggle when reading. I only managed to read two books last year "The way of the wind", and a swedish book "Odinsbarnet". I want to become a writer, matter of fact I got my first draft written last week (310 pages) :) I like to watch movies a lot and chill, I would love to read a lot more because that is super important if I ever want to succeed with my writing, but I simply fall asleep. :(
I really want to read The Medoran Chronicles but I live in the US and i cannot find a copy ANYWHERE. Not even online, and the one I did find was over $30 plus shipping!
that intro deserves a recognition
