Thank you, Mandy! That pocket is one of my favorites to make. So versatile, so many options and a great amount of places to put things. I hope you are well and enjoying some spring weather in your corner of the world 💕
Hi Cori, you have been so busy!!! I love everything you have made!!! Great video as always! I hope you are feeling better. This is a wonderful challenge. So fun.❤
Outstanding! I can really get my head wrapped around mass making these! You can use a wide variety of papers that will fit in many journals. Love it! Using the gold flakes is a super idea!
Great reminder of this very useful and simple to create pocket, Cori. Thank you! The idea of using the gilding flakes like Sue really dresses up the front small pocket. Looks awesome! 😀💞
I didn't know you knit! How fun. I tried learning in high school and my scarf became a triangle. I didn't try again after that. I didn't know you were so short! One day, when we get to hang out in real life, you'll fit under my chin. That's assuming you hug. I love hugs, but I completely get it's not everyone's thing. The patterns all look fun! I hope you get to them all! My junk journals take me a while to make, but I'm starting to make them more quickly. I like the colorful stripes! I think the black ties them all together. CAT SOCKS!!! I might need to ask my friend to commission them. For reasons. ❤😸
Lol! I don’t knit, though I wish I could. I just use knitting needles for a variety of things. I’m 5’8”, so only short by basketball player standards and yes, I enjoy a heart-felt hug 😊
@Cori Dahmen; Creating With Scraps omg, I was watching stuff in a queue and I tried commenting on my friend's video! I'm so sorry 😂 Hugs are great, but I wouldn't presume with someone I don't know very well!!
Cori, I am inspired by this video for several reasons. I Totally needed this ( oldie but goodie ) page pocket idea. Sometimes, great older videos get buried under thousands of new videos. And great ideas get lost and forgotten. I would love it if you would revisit some of your unique and creative idea videos. I even started a idea book from your idea book videos. Unfortunately, I spend too much time on UA-cam looking for ideas and forget to look in my half done idea book. Lo. thanks for this one Cori.
Agree, gotta-use-what-ya-got!! going to try the gold foil technique with Amy's Magic glue and foil, do you remember that line? I still have some of it -will use it! TY for the FOIL tip!! GOSH, your crafty-idea-journals are my fave, not quite finished the 2 I started and it's ok, there's always tomorrow lol! Again, happy you are BACK on a wkly basis. Oh and I watched a video by Jibid - LOVED her aged envelope tute! Hugs sweet Cori!
This is one of those months when crafting time is limited. (I'm completing 5 quilt orders.) So, I'm maximizing my paper time doing the mass makes. So relaxing and fun. Thank you for spearheading this.
I really love this idea. I'm also wondering about the mini album and if you have a link of how you did it? I've tried searching your videos and didn't find anything on it. Also, regarding coffee dying, do you do this yourself? I do. But I saw another video indicating that both coffee and tea are high acidic and need to have an additive added to the solution to lower the acid. 🤔 I've been coffee and tea dying for years and never heard of that. Have you? Thank you for your videos. I love them. ❤️
Thank you! Yes, coffee and tea are acidic, and I know people who use additives, such as baking soda. I honestly don’t know if it neutralizes the acid on the paper or not. I just use coffee, dunk, dry and compress (between 2 sheets of plywood) . There is a Tim Holtz video in my play list, about 2 years old, that shares how I make the 4” x 3” journals.
@Cori Dahmen; Creating With Scraps thank you. I think using the additive prevents strong acid that can cause fading with writing on the paper years later. I don't write on mine personally. Just use them for decorating. I will try again to find that video of the mini journal. Thank you so very much for your time, and reply. ❤️
Ok, I know this is isn't what the video is about, but I am wondering where you get the wonderful quotes you sometimes put on pieces? I saw the one one you had by H.G. Wells about seeing an adult riding a bicycle and it made me smile. And I thought, where the heck did she find that one? Do you just have a big book of quotes you pull from randomly or what? Thanks, Cori!
I do love a good quote! I read a lot and often see things in novels. I then write them in my quote book and pull one out and print it as needed. I also look for quotes about specific times or dates or items (such as daffodils and squirrels and bikes) on Google and search through quote sights that way, until I find one that calls to me 😊
Thank you and yes! Well, maybe. There’s a video from about 2 years ago, it’s one of the Tim Holtz videos, I believe, that shows how I make the 4” x 3” books.
always so delightful to watch your videos and be inspired
Thank you, Janet ❤
Loved this piece, so versatile- loved seeing the different versions and layouts too. Beautiful project as always Cori, thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
Thank you, Mandy! That pocket is one of my favorites to make. So versatile, so many options and a great amount of places to put things. I hope you are well and enjoying some spring weather in your corner of the world 💕

Love love the gold flake idea!! These pockets are adorable and I love how you prove that any "mistake" can be fixed!
Thank you 😊 Now I’m on the hunt for other flat things to enclose 😅
Really cute pockets that are simple to make. I love that combination. 😊. Perfect for mass making a few for future journals. ❤️
Thank you Freida. I sure enjoy a good mass make. In fact, I've got some copy cats of your flap closure scrap pad on my make-it shelf right now 😊

Hi Corey, first time watcher was intrigued by your pocket style. It’s very cute and I will be putting it into my journals. Thank you.
Hi Patty and welcome! I hope some of the ideas and concepts shared inspire your creative makes ❤
These are fabulous tri-pockets. It’s such a great idea to make them en masse. Your tags are beautiful, too. Thanks for sharing.
It was my pleasure, Joan and thank you!
Thanks Cori! Love these pockets! But game changer for me is you using your trimmer to get the torn edge! Mind blown! Lol never seen anybody so that!
Built in handle (to press down for a smooth tear) and easier to make straight. I often use a trimmer to tear shorter pieces 😊
@@CoriDahmen awesome!!!
Great tutorial! Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦
Thank you, Laura 😊
Wonderful, versatile pockets Cori! Your creative ideas inspire me always, and I particularly appreciate your thoughts on using what you have. 🥰

Do u have a video on the mini book that u showed your 3-pocket thingy? Just love all your new videos .. thanks .
Thank you, Lorraine. The video showing the 4” x 3” book is from about 2 years ago and has Tim Holtz in the title 😊
I'm sitting down to make one right now. Then I'll see if I can get a "mass making" going on. Making even one will be fun. Thank you for the tutorial!!

Love it (and just last night used up the last of my stacked circle flowers you taught me to make some time ago!)
Wonderful! Maybe that will be a fun future mass make for you. Thank you, Amy 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this idea, they're awesome! Now I need to buy some flakes, love the look that creates.
Aren’t those flakes just a fun effect? I added some rub n buff gilt to the edges too, which added a bit more color 😊
These are beautiful ! Thank you for sharing. I will definitely attempt at making some pockets like yours, although I would probably hand see them .
Hand sewing works really well with these, as it gives a thin border. Thank you and have fun!

Thank you, Michelle. All my fussy cut birds are from Tracie Fox Creative/Love Junk Journals on Etsy. She is truly amazing!
I would love to own one of your journals because you’re my favorite journalist. Would there ever be a possibility of you selling me one?
What a kind thing to say, thank you. I’ve had some in the works for a while now. I’ll let everyone know they’re ready before I sell them 😊

Can I find the link where you made your mini junk journal?❤
Hmmmm. I'm honestly not sure. I have several mini makes.
Do you have a tutorial for the little journal shown here? Thank you!
Yes, it’s a Tim Holtz project. It was almost 2 years ago and I think it’s listed as #2.
Do you have a recommendation for magnet size? I buy the wrong ones. Either too weak or too fat.
Hmmm. I get the Basic Grey magnets from Amazon. I think they come in two sizes and I've found both sizes to be very useful.
How did you make that mini envelope
I’ll share the how-to (it’s super quick) on my next video 😊

How can you hand sew it?
When I hand sew I use a ruler and a pokey tool and pre-poke all the holes, then just use a needle and thread and sew them together.
@@CoriDahmen Thank you for the response.
Fabulous tip!

It’s the We R Memory keepers envelope punch board 😊

Julie from @Camelia Crafts Designs. She is just wonderful 😊
