Stefan Roser in the Ruf Yellowbird at Nurb', Ayrton Senna in an NSX at Suzuka, and now Chris Harris. All proving time and time again that the loafer is the ultimate driving shoe.
Journalism? Most of the videos Harris does these days are just ads for the cars he's selling on his website. A "review" isn't journalism. Don't get me wrong - they're great, but they're ads. This video, while great, is an ad for his mate Richard Tuthill.

Awesome production, solid informational with entertainment and enthusiasm and Mr Harris doing his dance with the right footwear. Thank you Crankshaft '96. I really thought that drift was going to go thru that puddle of water...
Ruf, Kremer, DP Motorsport, Rinspeed, Koenig Specials, Strosek, Gemballa, Techart, 9ff, Manthey, RWB, Singer, Gunther Werks, Sharkwerks... You definitely belong to the 911 Masters club, Tuthill. Well deserved. We are now looking forward to learn more about those Theon's.
Didn’t this come on a VHS tape with Car and Driver in August ‘96? It received the Basic Instinct treatment and was worn out from constant rewinding/playing that moment. Sharon Stones snatch and a 8k 2nd-3rd gear change. Perfection on both c(o)unts.
I used to have a 993 RS and this addresses it's lacklustre engine, making it possibly the best sports car in the world. Whatever the price is, it's worth it. I'd have this over, well, anything - even a Mclaren F1 or GMA T50 ! Love how the interior is very special, yet resists falling into the prissyness of a Singer. Bravo Phil and Tuthill !
I have loved your videos ever since I got my first real sports car. I have owned BMW's, Porsche's and many other sports cars. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you for all that you do!
Wanted to make my 993 like this. Already installed the RS kit and rims, took 6 weeks in the shop. Then had it for 4 weeks when I totaled it. 😢. Chris Harris is a much better driver then I am in the wet.
This presenting style really suits you, Chris. More please! Dig out the boot-cut denim, the leather blazers and razz about in some 90's icons for us "old Top Gear" fans.
I wish I could understand why "CHoC" and the new UA-cam channel has SO MUCH more personality and entertainment value than the mega-media gig you had for a while. Oh wait, I bet I can guess... Great vid, great content, great great great!!!
Awesome production guys!!! Really well done... As usual . This episode felt like I was in the twilight zone, if it wasn't for Chris and his beard, I thought it was the 80's😅
It's rather nice, isn't it? Good to know where my eurojackpot money is going, I suppose! The production value on this is off the charts, love it. Can't wait for the Peugeot episode!
This video reminds me of DK of Best Motoring doing track battle in the 90s ✌️😊 all the heel toe downshift etc and of course DK's signature high speed drifting after breaking the fastest lap time or race... those were the days ✌️😎❤️
I lost the VHS of this years ago, glad to see one survived and better quality than the over watched version I had. Thanks for posting.
My older brother overrecorded adult film on this VHS. Oh boy, I cried the whole weekend when I found out.
I had a copy of this but my dad taped over it with half an episode of Red Dwarf and The Terminator. 😢
@@JeremiBulakowski This is the ‘adult film’ 😂 - look at his hair and moustache 😂
@@ukwanSmeg!
Our pleasure 😉
The Senna signature loafers and white socks are a nice touch!
As a Porsche presentation I would say Stephan Rozer driving the "Yellow bird" CTR1 Ruf in 1987 at the Nürburgring...
saw that
Standard attire from now on...
Good catch 👍
@@collectingcars it better be!

INDEED YOU ARE CORRECT SIR
Uh I love this format. And I look forward to the GTI and Fiat Coupe video!
Gti 6 is a sensational car. 👌🏻 miss mine
We need to lock those in!
@@collectingcars Same setup please!
I would love to see you try out the worlds fastest front wheel drive car in the day
the editing transitions were a real treat, the hair, the stance. Very nineties indeed, thanks for catapulting me back.
Another gem. If Collecting Cars doesn’t become the de facto space for the best automotive journalism, I will lose all faith in humanity.
You HAD faith in it?
You forget to mention EVO magazine wich is still the top tier in automotive journalism....

It's just wherever Chris is. Like the old Chris Harris with cars youtube that's defunct

Love the hair and love the Woollarding. Exceptional film as always
Excellent Woollarding. There's not enough Woollarding these days
I think Smith & Sniff need to made aware of this exemplary Woolarding in this video 😂
@@tantive4 Woollarding 🤣🤣 Thanks for making me laff like f*ck.
I wholeheartedly concur with both comments.🫡

Love the way the intro was done. And Chris is brilliant as always.
Nice touch with the 4:3 aspect ratio 👌Really fun homage to automotive journalism of yore.
Exquisite example of Woollarding there, Mr Harris!
Basically in Nottingham.
@@DandyDanDanDanDan I hadn't thought about that on that side of things!
To hear the immediacy of the throttle response. Simply stunning.
Jonny Smith and Richard Porter would be so very proud.
they'd like the very special brown suede DMs in particular
Shades of 90's Tiff, nice to see a sorted 993 driven properly
Close your eyes and it's William Woollard! Brilliant review, as ever.
Top Woollarding there Harris, with Ruf spec white sock action to really nail the crossover
The loafers 👌
Stefan Roser in the Ruf Yellowbird at Nurb', Ayrton Senna in an NSX at Suzuka, and now Chris Harris. All proving time and time again that the loafer is the ultimate driving shoe.
The full Woollard. Excellent work Chris.
How the crew managed to complete this video and how Chris kept a straight face for over 30 seconds, deserves a standing ovation 👏👏👏
You need Phillip (& his laugh) as a special guest on the podcast!
We really do!
Oh how I love these retro VHS rips, had forgotten how fantastic hair mr Harris had in the nineties. Groovy baby!
I pressed the like button 1:20min into the video! Keep this reviews coming!!
if you donßt like Chris´videos before watching, then what are you even doing with your life?
Mmmmm, this is type of driving we want from Chris!
The reporting style is fun, reminds me a lot of old Top Gear
Reporting that his friend can build it?

The production team had way too much fun making this in 90's style. The music, the graphics, and Chris' hair!
Brilliant just brilliant !!!!!
Thanks Chris.
@5.30am....a great way to start the day👍🇦🇺
I remember watching this video when it first came out.
Amazing fluffy and flowing rug perched on Chris's dome
That was, in a word, surreal.
Missed this when it first hit the tube. Bloody awesome (as always)…Harris at his best, and novel new style hat too…
Chris Harris is a worldwide treasure
My new favorite Chris Harris/Collecting Cars vid. Totally rad!
Just when I tought “oh, another Porsche restomod video”
absolutely ace. i laughed so hard, even though, damn... the car is no laughing matter. glad you had fun with this chris, it's a keeper!

This is a brilliant intro great as always !
I do love how the body roll is absolute minimal. Even the tires stay firmly n almost fully planted on the asphalt.
This is amazing

I've heard rumours the new 996 will be a beauty
Brilliant video!
Curborough is probably the slippiest place to drive in the wet! Well done for keeping on the tarmac!
Just tremendous. Thank you
I'm happy I seen the short of this video and came here!!!
Great job. No more useless shorts!!!🎉🎉🎉

also, well done crew. this is awesome. Now the 80's and 00's
Great format, Chris is the best !
Tuthill, Singer etc should do a sideline in tv presenters, reimagined.
Chris channeling his inner woolard Is hilarious 😂
Brilliant and accurate.
Chris is the best car journalist working today
Well done for deciding you have a favourite journalist.
Disappointed there was no Clarkson style flashes of the headlights in the tracking shots!
Perfection on so many levels…congrats
Excellent Wollarding
Some strong Woollarding there!
Stunning creation
Oh Chris, such a good job you can drive, because . . . . . . you can't act, not even tongue in cheek !! What a car though!!
993 and 997 are the prettiest 911s imo 🙂
So so good . Best review so far
Chris, the work you did on the script and internation, is just perfect for Top Gear before….. er…. Top Gear

The onboard cameras to film this must have been massive!
The Nürburgring, Spa, Road America and then, of course, the fearsome Curborough Sprint Course
