I clicked on expecting to watch and flick through. One hour and ten mins later I’m still glued to the video. What I thought would be a logistical nightmare was made to look like a clock just ticking away. Well done to all involved 🎓🏁🏁
This auto played from a previous video I was watching… I thoroughly watched this even after it shown by mistake… great video and event!!!…. I’m subscribed now
As a missionary kid born and raised in Tanzania by parents from Finland..I followed the East African Safari rally when it passed by our doorstep and was very proud when Hannu Mikkola was the first overseas driver to win the event. At the age of 6 years I was asked what I wanted to become as grown up...and the statement was : A rally driver in Africa..of course..wearing t- shirt with the EAS logo and a Datsun 240 Z on. When I got older I followed the rally every stage listening to shortwave radio. After finalizing mechanic trade school and national service in Finland I returned to TZ for my first job : Truckdriver in Africa..😊. The challenges was quite equal..without the speed of course... Now many years later watching UA-cam and still following the events going on today I envy those having the chance and opportunities ( money )to rally in Africa. Having been on African roads since day 1 in my life...and still travel them occasionally..there is no place on earth where I feel more at home than on the African roads.❤
what a unique and cool story youv got there mate ! I wonder could you hit up the Tuthills next year for a role in the team somehow? if this is in the realms of possibility..
Great documentary, hard to believe this is probably one of the last things Ken was filmed in. RIP Ken, thanks for all the stoke on cars that you spread.
Never knew anything about rallying but I recently got interested in safari porsches just from cool instagram pics... Did not expect to watch this whole thing! Looks so so fun.
What an event, what an experience, what a movie. Hope that you are considering entering this into a movie festival or two because the story and production values are incredible and deserve recognition.
You guys are always welcome to Kenya. Watching the Porsche in the wild is something else. The East Africa Classic Rally is the most adventurous rally you'll ever find anywhere on earth. The local traffic, wild animals, the cows. Everything is just wild.
Just came upon this footage by accident, brought back memories of being allowed to stay up late to watch the E A rally come through Dar, I was only about ten then, I am now 76! Must be one of the oldest rallies in the world.
Fantastic documentary. Blown away by the quality of it was not expecting it to be such a high level. Francis Tuthill reminds me of an officer from a 1950s war movie! Haha. Congrats to all who took part.
Not to take away to the other drivers - but it got me emotional whenever I saw Ken.. and his impact on Tuthill Junior, so typical that he found a way into his heart immediately. His nice and calm demeanor will be missed. Great job on the team filming and capturing the event. Hats off to the swedish guys, looked like real professional driving.
This is a movie I never thought I needed. I remember following the action live and also on social media....its amazing to see the stories behind every photo or short clip uploaded. As a big Ken block fan, it's sad to know he won't compete again on our rally but am at peace knowing he got a taste of Africa. I hope to see the porches again this year! Hopefully this time I will get out of the office to see it for myself! Incredible work guys! 👏
"When you shut the door on a rallycar, it's just the most peaceful place to be" 👌 Best hour I ever spent watching UA-cam or TV for that matter. Excellent documentation and production of petrolheads doing what we love. If I had the money I would sign up for the next years rally in a heartbeat. Thanks for filming and sharing this!
This is an absolute tribute to the legends who sacrifice a lot to do what they love and the memories they create for all of us. We also remember the memories of the legendary Ken Block (RIP) and his team @Hoonigan
The preparations, the grit, the equipments, the, beautiful rally cars, the people...the logistics...and then the sceneries...of beautiful kenya.. This film is so gripping... And i must say seeing it once is not enough....its a heartwarming adventure in real rallying world.. Its like a story book.. Thank you all who put it together.. And i must say ..kenya is very beautiful..
My uncle Horst Dettke worked at the "original" East African Safari Rallye in the 70tees among others as a Service Technician for Kugelfischer Injection pumps (today Bosch) - and as a teenager i loved to listen to his stories when he came back ... very much loved to watch this video. Great job - well done.
This hits different since losing Ken.. The biggest inspiration to me in the car community and will forever be one of the greats! R.I.P. Ken. I always imagine you and Colin, and since the passing of Craig, all 3 of you tearing up the dirt in the sky!! 3 legends that were taken from us too soon, may you all Race.In.Paradise! 🙏
Fantastic video, congratulations to the Tuthill family. Great to see 3 generations loving every part of rallying, the mechanics and crew are amazing. Wonderful.
Thanks Tuthill Porsche. Really enjoyed watching this and loving the family bond that is there 🥰. My dad and Uncles were all born in Kenya and have many stories and much love for the East African Safari Rally before emigrating to the UK. In fact, that’s one of the reasons there’s so much petrol in my blood 😂👍🏼 Much respect and well done to you all 😎👌🏼
I have watched a lot of videos with you and your fellow journalists But this is special This is going to fly Your camera crew etc are on to a winning formula
This was incredibly inspirational. I know virtually nothing about rally, but find myself ready to charge off and figure out how in the world I could make this a reality for myself.
Well done! A brilliant film. A lot has gone into preparing the cars and keeping them on the road. Its good to see the involvement of three generations of Tuthills. Its great seeing Philip on the rally; we are used to bumping into him on STG. Looking forward to next one already.
That is an amazing film of an utterly amazing event, thanks team Porsche, great watch and amazing driving.Emotional roller coaster with some mad driving and absolutely stunning nature scenery, huge round of applause to the mechanical team as well!!❤
What an amazing piece of work. Beautifully filmed, fabulously edited and such fascinating content. Thank you so much for posting on UA-cam for everyone to be able to enjoy. 🙏🙌👏👏👏
absolutely cracking video richard , brought back some great memories of kenya from my subaru 555 days, great to see some old colleagues, anytime you need some extra help, please call, looked epic
Thanks very much to Tuthill Porsche for sharing this experience with us UA-cam viewers, a great film and fascinating insight into this unique Safari rally. Well done to all those involved in producing the film. RIP to Ken Block.
I found and watched this the day b4 Ken passed. RIP Crazy how you never know when your time is up. Thanks for a great little peak into how this is a team sport where the support guys do most of the work for the drivers to get all the glory. (former cycling team principle)
Just got round to watching. No skipping through, end to end this is totally epic! I’m sure it only is a taster of what it’s actually like on the ground. Well done Tuts! ❤👏
Tim, thank you so much for this comment! We're really proud of this film, and starting to showcase the whole environment around tackling this incredible event. It would be nothing without the best people, drivers, organisers and caterers, which makes it even more special to be able to showcase them :)
Thank you so much! We are aiming to take a film crew to Kenya for this year's rally. So hopefully we can entertain you again with another film in early 2024 :)
Such a phenomenal race/event that's been put together here. Will definitely be following it when it happens in future and wish everyone good luck! So cool that Ken was able to take this on before his unfortunate accident happened. Rip legend
I run (own and drive) a Civic in the BARC Classic Touring Car Championship and I know the challenges I face over a season. I know how good you guys are to make that look so simple!!!! and what a film! I'm buzzing! Thank you all. 👏👌🍻
Rip the absolute legend. He will be missed.
Was this his last Rallye? Or one of the last?
@@Tango4N I think this rally was at least 9 months ago

It really does... :(

I could watch this over and over. An epic film, desperately jealous of everyone involved. Think I need to work harder to afford a Tuthill Porsche
We really hope you enjoy it over and over! We were very excited to get this film out for Christmas :)
