That is insane! When my instructor and I took a Schweizer 2-33 up to 5000 ft out of Bedminster quite a few years ago, we were getting up into some busy airspace. Can't imagine being too confident about going this high in an ultralight! As for oxygen, well, I've been to the peak of Mauna Kea and did fine, but not a good idea to linger up there too long when your judgment matters.
Funny thing is that you *DROVE* to the top of Mauna Kea!!! At 12,000 ft, they said it was higher than the island hopper 727's which ascend to 10k, then immediately start descending! Amazing place, isn't it?!? It looks like a moonscape. And there is a silver colored flower that only grows at the top of this mountain! I couldn't recommend it more to anyone else!
Josh Katz actually the oxygen level in the atmosphere doesn’t change based on altitude, however, the phrase comes because your lungs can’t process the air as well at high altitudes🤙🏼
Tucker: what kind of payload can you comfortably carry? Or is that the limit that it's comfortable to carry? My friend is studying atmospheric ecology and currently is doing some work on so called "trace gasses" at specific altitudes. The device weighs about a kilo and maybe 500mm x 800mm x 300mm and is fully automated, 2 buttons, button 1 breaks the seal, button 2 cycles the ventilation fan to saturate the sensors and fill the sample containers. Indicator light goes from red to green and you push button 1 and it self seals and shuts off. It'll come fedex with prepaid return box, and she would ask that you just document the altitude and location over 3000' that it was cycled. She's been paying a Cessna rental & pilot fee out of her own pocket you can imagine the cost. I showed her your channel and she thinks it'll work, so she asked me to ask you, since I subscribe to your channel by her it means we know each other! If this is something you might consider I can send you the specs on the sampling device & some photos, she asks if the aluminum case needs to be drilled for straps or attachment to you or your paraglider assembly that she be permitted to do the drilling for you, even if it needs to be mailed back and forth several times, as she has but one, built it herself. It's beautiful I think, the hydraulic mechanism makes a satisfying "ker.. klunk!" Upon resealing it's airtight portions itself. Anyway if this interests you please let me know, you would be assisting someone who will dedicate her life to ensuring the earth has breathable air for future generations. This altitude air sampling is a large part of her dissertation. All that being said, if there's any chance it would be unsafe for you for some reason, please don't feel that it won't happen if you don't do it, we have other options, including a fully automated version that cycles at a specific altitude she's working on, using a barometer switch, giving it to other recreational flyers who fly things with easier storage, so the fate of the world having air rests not in your hands! I just asked because I subscribe to your channel and this means we know each other (she slaps me in the back of the head upon reading). No I subscribe to your channel so you HAVE to do what I say! To put into perspective, commercial airlines travel at 33,000~42,000 feet, mount everest is 29,000 feet. Pretty amazing how a small engine and a wing can get this high up without issues. Good stuff Tucker, you make me want to get one. (15,000 feet is roughly 4,5k KM)
Hi there, just adding my input as I’m a Virgin Atlantic Commercial pilot (captain). I fly Boeing 747’s and we normally fly the queen at 45000 ft with throttles on 60%. We aren’t authorised to fly higher than 48000. 45 is really high in perspective. The fact that 2 grade G props pushed into one cage can get you to 15000 with one wing, is quite amazing.... until you think about the weight. A queen’s maximum takeoff weight is more than 500,000 KG!! And maximum landing just over 350,000. If you attached one more seat to that paramotor, it will start to flutter.A flutter is when the weight is too much so the aircraft goes up 2 feet down 1.9 feet so basically the accent is impossible and if you turn in a flutter, you would plummet. Nice to put my input in. Want great prices? Fly Virgin Today. Visit our website to view all our destinations! I hope to welcome you onboard soon!
I'd swear loudly and curse the fact that any moron can just do this without even a VHF radio or a transponder and leave the responsibility for traffic avoidance entirely in the hands of those of us who actually put in the time and effort to earn an actual pilot's licence, including how to avoid mid-air collisions, just to end up with this dude coming through the cockpit window like some flying moose from hell at 120 knots and killing me...
Ps, sorry for being so dark about it @wilmer. but people who most of time tell everyone how they should suicide should just do it then. but i assume you ment it as a joke. cheers lol
I got into paramotoring after skydiving once… I love the idea of the higher altitude flights instead of foot dragging. I’m going to go for 10,000 feet tomorrow since that’s where we did our skydiving jump. Looking really forward to it.
It took me a while to finally find the location, but it was a rewarding moment when I finally did. The blue/gray area that keeps coming up is a solar array at 40.706108, -75.103635, and the lake in view is Merrill Creek Reservoir. I kept looking around Round Valley and Spruce Run reservoirs, as they were mentioned, but they are about 10 miles away. When he says, "look at the park down there" at 5:55, the Idaho shaped brown area beyond the 3 horizontal lines (massive hamburger menu icon?) would be Heritage Park.
Experimental Fun I tried that once but my paper airplane folded with the high wind speed, before I could throw it. I either need a better design or thicker paper.

Flying isnt that bad. I was a little scared before my first time in a jetplane... But right before entering the plane, everything was gone and I was excited like a 6 year old for xmas... As it started to accelerate and finally launched... Wow... I wanted nothing more since then... Great feeling! First time felt a little weird cause everything is crazy more than you can imagine or experience on Land with a car for example....launch and landing made me laugh actually, cause of the Super crazy acceleration. Landing was funny too smh. Hope you will find out what its like some day and will have fun 👍🏻🤗😅 Even if it is just a 1h flight The sight you get is great and made me loose some tears... You actually feel free..... 👍🏻
Johnny Nunez I am not a flat earther but you realise he is using a go pro? you may want to do a little research on the lenses used. Hint: they make everything elliptical
Luke Nallen I know he is using a go pro. So fast to correct bro ! I asked if he physically seen the earth curve with the naked eye being so high. I should have spelled it out for people like you.

@@cristianiacob1050 well your pretty much right about that. I'm not really the type to be flying 15,000 feet in the air while being held by a couple of strings.
Krytical 1 The risk of dying from risky sports like this is disproportional because of all the strongheaded idiots that do dumb shit and get themselves killed, ie most deaths are caused by negligence and pilot error. just git gud
Hey man, love your channel. That's a good point. I know about hypoxia, I'm a private pilot also. I chose this level of risk but I wouldn't encourage anyone to do the same.
Idk anything about this but how long would he be unconscious and would he go straight down if it happened? Or would he calmly go down and wake up at let say 5000 feet and land without problem? =)
British explorer and mountaineer Edward "Bear" Grylls, has set a new altitude record by piloting a powered paraglider above Mount Everest reaching 29,494ft (8,990m). ... Remarkably, in 1998, after months of rehabilitation, he became at 23, the youngest British climber to scale Mount Everest and return alive. - there just searched it .. you can
I'm 61 years old and that is one of the coolest things I've ever seen ...good job young man. I would say be careful... but I know you already take everything into consideration.
The higher you flew, the dizzier I became, until I fell out of my office chair!!! I am 77 years old and way too old to fly this high,,,,lol. By the way, this video is dated December 22. That was my birthday.
He doesn't actually go upside down on a wing-over or a SAT. Visually it looks like it a little bit because of the angle of the go-pro positioning on his helmet.
Ahh...to be young and fearless. It's unnerving to even watch this video as I'm only familiar with having a large aircraft wrapped around me at that altitude. God bless Tucker.
That is the coolest concept I've ever seen in my life: 1. Where can I get a paramotor? 2. What does it cost? 3. What kind of training/certifications do you need, and how long does that take? 4. What kind of airspace restrictions do I have to worry about? 5. What am I allowed/not allowed to bring up there? 6. What are the main dangers? 7. At what altitudes do certain things cease functioning? and 8. Do you just poop/pee yourself if the need arises? I'M IN.
Amen to this guy. Normally people just wanna sit inside and play video games all day. I’m glad that I found someone else who enjoys outside activities too

imagine that you fly and you start to run out of fuel and you cannot see where you park your car?..lol
I actually saw that once
I would choose this paramotor glider over a supercar
saad salman or you could just get the supercar and sell it and buy yourself a paramotor for £2k
Me too
And it’s way cheaper
Supercars are normally unreliable
They r only like 2k you can sell the supercar and buy the paramotor but I see what u mean
Damn MY palms started sweating when he was doing those asymmetric turns, just watching it on video after the fact. Tucker must have nerves of steel. Well done
I literally got dizzy. I was zeroed in on the park buildings and had to look away! Awesome trip!!
I couldn’t mentally handle that. Great job. Just to see his body dangling from a few strings at 15k makes my stomach turn into knots.
I know.
It's INSANE but also INSANELY cool.
Same
Doesn't matter if it's 150 or 15000 feet. He's dead if he falls :)
Dan, tell that to your brain :P
its not that weak the strings are made of kevlar or titanium so they only break under some insane stress
imagine this is all wright brothers needed
UNDERRATED COMMENT 😂
I don’t know how the heck UA-cam thought I’d like this but I’m damn glad it did. So cool! Looks like an awesome sport.
“I don’t want to go too crazy”

This is the perfect way to just get away when you don't want to be around anyone
Yungking 47 how do you do this in NJ? How do you get started?
JerzeyRebel 47 Amen to that
Thomas the Dank Engine I share a room with a kid who never stops playing videos games. My room isn’t a place to be alone either.
Here comes the sad emo kid
Buy the PPG Bible and study it for weeks on end..then find a local trainer..there are a couple around Jersey.Save up $12 for new gear or $6K for good used gear, then another $2k for training :)
.....Man with his flaming pyre has conquered the wayward breezes,.climbing to tranquility, far above the clouds, conceiving the heavens ,clear of misty shourd. Love this video and all its view you made.many, many thanks.
I wonder how many people aren't aware of Paramotors and think you're a ufo.
Well if they are unable to identify what it is then he really is a UFO to them. Maybe he should dress like an alien next trip.
Phill Huddleston Lmao that’d be great 👍
someone hasn't been on redit yet there are remarkable people on there who know remarkably little about literally anything :)

Tucker: goes 15000 feet in the sky with a paramoter
Me: still scared to go on a plane
Same
Flying isnt that bad.
Hope you will find out what its like some day and will have fun 👍🏻🤗😅
Even if it is just a 1h flight
The sight you get is great and made me loose some tears... You actually feel free..... 👍🏻
Like with most things you get accustomed to heights over time.

john jaxon Pretty damn cool tho !
Did you see the curvature of the earth?
For all those flat earthers out there who still think we live on a flat planet
john jaxon nunez nice try its not a curvature carry on lol
Johnny Nunez I am not a flat earther but you realise he is using a go pro? you may want to do a little research on the lenses used. Hint: they make everything elliptical
Luke Nallen I know he is using a go pro. So fast to correct bro !
I asked if he physically seen the earth curve with the naked eye being so high. I should have spelled it out for people like you.
1:40 He said "This climb up is just going to be boring!" .. 3:20 "It definitely sounds like the motor is loosing power" .....at 5,000 feet ......Hell Nah
Keylan the parachute would catch him
Keylan the engine is louder at lower altitudes because the air is thicker and the engine has to work harder.
Keylan, losing power, not "loosing". You can still correct your comment.
ronstacie3 chill grammar nerd
Keylan

The Moon looks amazing also. From the camera angle it's like we're flying. You're right, to be able to lift ourselves off the ground to such heights is Amazing!
Im jealous as hell. You can literally wake up and say "I think ill fly today"
Krytical 1 if odds of death keep you from doing stuff you won't do many interesting things in life.
@@cristianiacob1050 well your pretty much right about that. I'm not really the type to be flying 15,000 feet in the air while being held by a couple of strings.
@DutchGreen Gaming Yes but I dramatically increase the amount of time I have left by staying on the ground where I belong.
@DutchGreen Gaming I am living my life. Happily too. I don't need to be some adrenaline junkie to have fun.
Krytical 1 The risk of dying from risky sports like this is disproportional because of all the strongheaded idiots that do dumb shit and get themselves killed, ie most deaths are caused by negligence and pilot error.
just git gud
Read up on hypoxia please. It could save your life.
Hey man, love your channel. That's a good point. I know about hypoxia, I'm a private pilot also. I chose this level of risk but I wouldn't encourage anyone to do the same.
SmarterEveryDay when I saw this video I was thinking of your video on hypoxia
SmarterEveryDay I was thinking about the exact same thing and I was also thinking about your video on hypoxia.
Tucker Gott 30 min on that altitude of 15.000 feet can get u knocked out, luckily you know what you are doing
Idk anything about this but how long would he be unconscious and would he go straight down if it happened? Or would he calmly go down and wake up at let say 5000 feet and land without problem? =)
Seems like this would be a great short cut for climbing Mt. Everest.
need oxygen .. dont thnk it'd climb too good
British explorer and mountaineer Edward "Bear" Grylls, has set a new altitude record by piloting a powered paraglider above Mount Everest reaching 29,494ft (8,990m). ... Remarkably, in 1998, after months of rehabilitation, he became at 23, the youngest British climber to scale Mount Everest and return alive. - there just searched it .. you can

that feeling of landing after being at such high altitudes must be unreal....
The higher you flew, the dizzier I became, until I fell out of my office chair!!! I am 77 years old and way too old to fly this high,,,,lol. By the way, this video is dated December 22. That was my birthday.

I would to, then I start thinking of all the things that could go wrong in this thing at several thousand feet in air.

trump
Golden One I can help u stick that swastika somewhere where it belongs with ur besties collection
If that chute failed at that altitude a person would have a long long long time to think about it as he fell.
Everyone has had that dream when you were young having the ability to fly
i havnt ;(
I still have it ,best feeling ever ˘ ³˘
Sevaytlan he prolly has done over thousands of flight simulation already.
I now want to be like him when i grow older
@@nikola2364 He has a parachute so he should be good.
i don't want to go to crazy: he goes upside down
He doesn't actually go upside down on a wing-over or a SAT.
I'M IN.
You just read my mind
