- There are three main aquascape layout composition types for the arrangement of hardscape and plants. In this video we show you examples of the most commonly used layouts, which are guaranteed to help you arrange your hardscape in an attractive way.
1. Concave (aka U-shape) - tall hardscape and plants on either side with an opening in the middle.
2. Triangular - hardscape and plants decrease in height from one side to the other.
3. Convex (aka island) - materials and plants are arranged centrally with the sides of the Aquarium empty.
This video was taken inside Aquarium Gardens using our hardscape sandpit - designed to help customers build a layout using our extensive range of hardscape materials. Nice tutorial. Enjoy watching it
Superb, super stylish video! Dave these hardscape are stunning and you make it look effortless (you clearly have a natural gift for it), I particularly love the Convex/Island scape. The selection of materials you have in store is amazing!
Very informative.
I love how aesthetically pleasing your videos are.
Great vid! Does the hardscape stop the substrate from slipping when it is built up or do you use stones underneath it? My substrate always seems to eventually flatten out??
Rob Williams yes rocks can be used to hold substrate in position and prevent it from moving forward 👍
Great video, thanks!
Is there any layout that you could specifically recommend for more territorial fish like, e.g., dwarf cichlids? My impression is that the first option (u-shaped) could suit them best because it devides the aquarium into several "zones" or areas that could be separated territories for pairs of dwarf cichlids.
I think it would be a hit or miss with cichlids they move the substrate a lot
Where can I get a tank like that
Substrate?
Can you help over the phone?
