- Patricia was forced out of her home in Maine due to her health declining due to a house full of mold. She's now living full time in a minivan with her three cats trying to survive day by day. She is below the poverty level but she's still fighting and has a positive message for everyone she meets.

I live on social security. I worked until an illness happened and I had to leave work at 67. It is very hard to live on a fixed income. In my life the responsibilities I had I was unable to save a nest egg..it happens to a lot. Please don't be too judgemental. We all have different paths to walk. Some don't have families, some have illnesses but most are doing the best they can.
I am living your life! I am in an apt., however, but am facing a huge rent increase. I don't have a vehicle. It sounds terrible but my life is rich in everything I love and value. I'm blessed! Looking for a roommate soon. All the best to you dear.
Yes getting room mates to share he burden of costs is a great idea, help each other out !
I’m renting a room in a house, things aren’t 50-50 but, respect the others’ things and privacy as much as possible and it works out
The last thing I would do is judge anyone. I think she is an inspiration!! She is making the best of what is, right now, and she is also able to be grateful for just being alive and go for what she wants. I wish her the best on her business venture. If she gets her jewelry out there I will buy something. Thanks for sharing. 🙂💞💨
I am sorry to hear about your illness. I work in insurance and a good agent who can answer Medicare questions can save you a ton of money. Plans change every year and it is important for them to review options with you. I have just finished studying prices on good Rx to help lower costs for my clients to help save them money.
I rather work till i can not work to make money. And i will always have second plan. I don't want to live in the van. You can stay or live at government appartment with cheap payment. Of course it is not nice like business house or apartment for rent.
I've seen some comments questioning the amount of money Patricia's living on. For clarification, she receives $486 per month on Social Security (not disability). After her minimal debts, two of which include her car payment and insurance (which she needs to have somewhere to live), she is left with $80-$100 a month to live on. *You can reach Patricia on her UA-cam channel which is linked in the video description. She has Paypal/Cash App in her video descriptions. Thank you for all your kind and encouraging comments for Patricia. It's truly appreciated!*
Update: After posting this video and pinning this comment, I learned new information about Patricia's income. It is still a small amount but more than stated in the video. I never want to mislead anyone so I have updated the title of this video.
On the one hand good for Patricia for figuring things out and making a safe place for her and her kitties. On the other hand, how is it possible that she's been left with so little support in the richest country in the world. I understand that her social security payment is probably reduced due to taking it early but OMG. If she has a Paypal or something similar please post it.
Yikes $486 would be tough for anyone to live on per month but SS was never intended be ones only source of retirement income. I realize there are too many people where it's their only source of income. That should shock the nation and mandate that our schools really need to teach over and over how important it is to save additional money for retirement. Unfortunately with the stock market crashing, I wonder how many people will forced into this lifestyle even if they don't own stocks and lose everything they worked so hard for? Take care!
So she's not really living on just a $100 month if she's getting $486 a month. She's living on $486 a month and after she pays her car and insurance what ever she has left is for living expenses. It's all a monthly budget coming off of $486 a month.
Amazing on so little money, good for her on trying
I just happened onto this video and I remember hearing the name travel snacks. Then remembered that I had watched a video of yours called, 'How to survive in the winter in your car' or something like that. Back when I watched it in March of 2020, I said to myself, 'this channel will never survive', but here you are. Good for you and I enjoy your videos now, thank you very much !!
I'm sending all my positive vibes to this woman. If I hit the lottery I would buy her a bus. Prayers and blessing to her!
How would she pay the gas with a bus. The point is she is doing just fine.
@SunnyRae Star gas money each month 🤔 wow ....why not now? SOOOOOO it takes for you toooo WIN the lottery to GIVE.... wow .....what caring society we live in. People only give WHEN they only RECEIVE in such case which is a rare and extraordinary occasion which is never...Enjoy your meal and warm home. While we hope you win the lottery so that you are able to give us 🥶 🧊 ☃️ 🧥 ❄️ 😓.
You are so nice, I hope you win the lottery! Best wishes to this lady.
@SunnyRae Star May God Bless you for your honesty.
@SunnyRae Star God Bless you for your generous heart!!! ❤️
Your attitude is so spot on for success in the future. I had to restart my life at 60 being homeless after losing all assets, so I moved into a station wagon, set up my computer and went to uni for 7 years which got me through an extremely difficult time mentally. I did remote learning and travelled when I could, doing all assignments at libraries. Then I got an old van which kept breaking down, then a Delica which was great, then years later, a Sprinter I can stand up in. I am now pushing 76 and ready to restart my life again in March when it is paid for. It's not easy, but it's possible. And a nomadic life can be a great life. I hope everything goes really well for you in the future.
This will sound cliche but THIS VIDEO IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED RIGHT NOW! I can relate to Patricia and her journey. Thanks to you both for sharing 🙏
God bless you and be with you, Jodi. ♥️
same here.
What an awesome woman! I hope she achieves her dreams!
Yes she is a wonderful lady!
Found her story moving & inspiring. I hope she creates a IG pg to blog about her life & sell her jewelry across the world.
Fyi .. incase she sees this .. Usps provides free priority mail envelopes that can be used, so don't waste money on shipping materials ♥️
I’m so glad people helped her with her build. There are still kind people out there.
I understand what she is going through, I had mold in my house and didn't find out until my diagnosis of cancer. She is an amazing woman and she should be very proud of herself and what she has accomplished. Thanks for sharing.
Oh Patricia...may God bless you and keep you and your precious kitties. Prayers for health, wellness and happiness. 💜
How brave and strong you are! I'm in NH and getting close to hitting the road. I hope to find you when I get out west! You're a beautiful soul.
Allison, what a wonderful interview this was. You asked some really great questions and her replies were very informative. Everybody has a different story to share, and for being an introvert she sure did give the viewers, many interesting things to consider due to her circumstances. I am enjoying your interviews Allison....📢well done
I agree. Allison, you allowed her to do the talking and present her own story. It was so meaningful to present it that way. I see Patricia on a brand new path and, it's her very own path.
That’s so very true, what she said about the pets. just the fact that they need you and you have to take care of them does keep you going, she’s a great lady ☺️
Patricia!!! So freaking proud of you!!! I'm on the same mentality, and I've been told "I'm running out of time" to do the things I want to do by family. How is that a statement said with care?! If we're trying our best to live a fulfilling life, we'll figure out what's best for us at our own pace and time. I tell myself to not let people family their agendas on me, do what makes ME feel right. Thank you Patricia for sharing this to us ❤️
God bless you, Lawrence. Sending love and prayers with all of my heart. ♥️
Patricia is a very strong woman. Love how she keeps her cats safe. Its a hard life esp with the income she has.. wishing her a safe and secure future.
Patricia's belief the universe provides, her resourcefulness and her gratitude is a lesson for anyone. I appreicate you sharing her story.
Yes she is a very strong, loving person!
@@travelsnacks I have been trying to find her on Facebook but with no luck... do you have a link?
@@inlovewithhealth no one has a link. We’ve all searched . Absolutely no way to send he money
@@bohoxplorer840 I finally found a Facebook page she has... add Mother in front of her full name. Also did a live UA-cam the other night under the business name she gave (link in this video description). I don't know how she went live with a brand new channel but maybe it's possible. Anyway, I hope this helps.
What a genuine soul! Very likable - and honest - she’s precious!
I loved this interview!
I'm a traveling artist. 10 years.
Started in a pick up with a dog, cat and bird.. Now, in tiny rv converted into tiny home.
SHARING!!
Wow! that woman is an inspiration to those who think they have no hope. Its not where you are but what you are focused on that create your happiness and your future. God Bless you Patricia, love your spirit!
I pray things work out for her. She is very intuitive about where she has come from and where she is headed.
She can go to LTVA in quartzite. It’s long term visitor area that’s $180 for 7 months and she won’t have to move every day. She can camp for as long as she needs so she won’t have to use gasoline. It may help. God bless.
It's too hot there in the summer
She wants to be by the ocean.
Its insanely hot...and desterts have tones of dust allergies...especially for cats. It can kill the....i do not want to live in that hot desert where water is soon going to be an issue!
@@kandacepatterson7965they mean for the winter.
Patricia is amazing, what she’s gone through to be where she is today and she’s only just beginning again is incredible. I turned 50 a few days ago and thought it was the end of the world, have been feeling so low (had two close bereavements though aswell) but Patricia just made me look at my life differently, what an inspiration she is. I really hope she succeeds in buying that bus wit( her little art studio, she deserves it 🥰❤️
Hello. My condolences on your losses. I hope your 50s are awesome!
@@sandeedobberstine5591 Thankyou 😘
Yay for you Patricia. I'm 60 and becoming a full time nomad as well. Hope to see you down the road!
I have much in common with Patricia. First off same age, introvert. I'm still working. But planning on what's next. My son has just gotten out of a terrible mold situation which he is still recovering from almost 2 years later. He currently lives with me, but is showing much progress.Patricia your faith and positive attitude is apparent. You have so much first hand knowledge you should have your own UA-cam channel. Blessings to you and your feline family.
She does have her own UA-cam channel, link posted in comments above by Allison.
Patricia is such an inspiration. She shows us that you can take control of your life, no matter what your age is or what your finances are. Be blessed, Patricia!
She has a remarkable spirit but for so many this is not enough.
Patricia please contact "Homes on wheels Alliance" HOWA. There's also caravans to sign up for to make friends who are in your same situation. Maybe I'll see you out there.
Very inspiring!!! I’ll look forward to her van tour and meeting her 3 beautiful cats!!
I'm a 74 year old woman also with bad health...my entire income is SS check of $683 per month. Rent is $950 a month...so looks like I'll soon be living in my car or a very cheap van or RV....so I enjoy hearing the experiences of others about how to live that way! Thank you!!
Louise Trujillo See if you can get on Metropolitan Housing. They help with rent & utilities. You only pay 1/3 of what you make.
U can get low inc.oldster housing. Rent sliding scale.Get on a list. Takes awhile.
Live your dream I’m 65 my health prevents me from living mine
💞💨 No matter what happens you will be okay.
Look for senior housing through HUD. Rents based on income and it's for elderly and disabled people. The apts are usually well maintained
Love that she is following her heart! Great interview sweet Allison! Still praying for a swift recovery.🙏💕🙏💕
Hello 👋how are you doing?
I can’t believe some of the comments I read on here. I hope none of you ever end up in this women’s situation, sick, and unable to live in her home. There are no resources, and available housing for low income anymore. Instead of being supportive, and having empathy, all I hear is criticism about how much she actually gets a month from Social Security. Plus, what she has left over. God Bless this women for her spirit and positive attitude ❤️🙏.
So grateful for these young people out there helping people today. We all can help in some way ❤
Bless her heart , I had many struggles like this as well . Hives for 2 months - housing struggles, being alone & older too. I’m glad she chose to make a move . Good luck to her & her fur-babies. Patricia said some things I needed to hear, myself.
God bless you, Kris!
What a wonderful, introspective woman. I wish her all the joy and success.
So love Patricia’s awesome vibes of positivity, insight, support, enthusiasm and encouragement…. Lol, my words run out…. But she has the power! You go girl! Please know you are a special, and a blessing to us on earth!
Love Patricia's story! After the challenges of her living situation and in life, it's wonderful to see she still has hopeful positive energy! Stories like hers gives me more encouragement for nomad life be8ng on SSDI.
What a Blessed interview. Listening to Patricia gave me goosebumps. I hope to see more of her!
Patricia, I can relate to your illness! I have MCS Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. I am so glad you found a solution! I had to quit my job because I was being triggered with all of the chemicals and smells. I have M.E./CFS and fibromyalgia, too. It has been life changing. Just came back from Ocean Beach, Cali, across the street from OB Hotel. It cost $125/yr. for a license to sell on the beach sidewalk. So many ppl live out of their vehicles and sell products. Blessings!♥️
I love this. Loving these interviews! Hoping and praying for safety, for blessings, miracles, health, wisdom,, financial increases, peace, love and adventure for Patricia and her kitties!
God bless this sweet woman. May she overcome any and all obstacles and start living her best life.
What a kind and insightful interview. Thank you for allowing this sweet lady to answer your questions in her own time and way. Felt more like a conversation.
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
I love this lady she is real.... I wish her the best of everything in life. I hope she starts a UA-cam channel
Wow, she’s a fighter, love to see women like her . Positive attitude is so important, the universe will reward her .
I have a minivan also and it’s small but comfortable and cozy. Everything is so expensive I’m living on the minivan life. I love her attitude and positivity.
I can completely relate. I’m 55 and have just begun to ask myself what is it that I want. And, it’s wonderful.
Hello 👋how are you doing?
This is what exactly what I needed. Thank you for sharing. I recently had my upstairs bathroom toilet break & threw water everywhere causing an enormous amount of damage. I've had to leave my house & lost most of the furniture.
Why didnt you turn off the water supply to the tiolet instead of letting it flood your house?
I'm 55, in exactly the same place as Patricia. This was such a relatable interview. Best of luck Patricia!
Wonderful story shared. Patricia is the epitome of strength that women of our generation have! Best wishes and blessings as you continue on your journey!
Great interview Allison. I really like Patricia's attitude. Love her jewelry. God provides and will meet her needs. ❤️
Wow this was so informative . She needs her own channel she is great on camera. She could make her jewelry on camera and sell so much more .
She does have her own UA-cam channel, link posted in comments above by Allison.
She’s truly a beautiful person. My prayers are for her to get her beautiful life she deserves.
I totally understand the story and so sorry for your loss of your kitty. Thank goodness you got out!!! Bless you and your kitties. Wishing you all wellness and happiness.
Such a Lovely Lady with nothing but positivity. Very informative interview. Prayers to her 💜💜💜💜💜
I don't know if Patricia will see this, but she and the kitties are very much missed around here! Sounds like new doors are opening for her, and that's great!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤loved this…. Patricia you are amazing & inspirational 🙏🏻 I love your thinking god bless you & keep you safe ❤️
Today is Thanksgiving and I ironically came across this video. Happy Birthday Patricia and many blessings. Listening to your journey gave me a message of hope at just the right moment, funny how the universe does that. Thank you Patricia, for sharing your journey with all of us.
I live in New Zealand and I'm in a motor home. I really enjoyed watching this. Please pass on my love to her please.
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
What an upbeat lady. I hope her health improves and she can get her business up and running.prayers from the UK.
She is a beautiful lady! I didn't start thinking I deserved better and have more money until 2 yrs ago, and I am 56 now, I grew up the same way, where I sabotaged the good things in my life because I didn't think I was worth it, but I feel different now, and I fully understand what she is talking about! I'm so happy for her that she is seeking freedom and happiness now! I wish and pray for nothing but wonderful, positive things to come your way!! Hope I see you down the road one day! 😊✌️
Love this woman and her love for life. Thank you for sharing her with us. xo
Great interview! Keep doing more. Always enjoy your channel
Wow. This was such an interesting interview! Thank you Allison! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Wow she has been through so much and has nurtured herself into a whole being. Thank you for sharing her story, I’ll keep watch for her business, wishing her the best of luck. 💜
I really feel for you, lady. We work so hard to stay in our homes. It's a psychological shock to realize that so many things in and about our houses actually harm us.
Wow what a story. It's very uplifting because I like how you persevered. Glad you got out of the bad situation ...
Have been there it is sad thankfully we were fortunate to have help from the kindest people in the system. I do understand. Sadly as seniors we are in a worse place. Sending the best. I am happy to see how articulate and smart you are.
Thank you, Travel Snacks, for this informative, very well done interview (you asked great questions) and for your willingness to share her info when it becomes available. Learning about the the parking program is encouraging.
I don’t think she’s getting under $100 of social security, I think she meant after paying her bills she has under $100 left.
Yeah, and isn't that what EVERYONE does? We PRIORITIZE and then have something left to meet our other interests.
Yep.
@@deewitt8693 We don't know what she's paying before she has $80 left. If she's less than 65 and drawing social security, sure could be living on $600. That $80 could be after her van note and car insurance, so there's no way she can afford food for her and the cats, personal hygiene and toilet stuff, gas, cat litter, laundry, etc. If that's the case, that's not what everyone else is doing. I don't know anyone doing that and I have friends with jobs from gas station cashier to doctors.
Yes. No way you could even buy groceries for that.
Insurance for her vehicle
Phone
Gas
Food
Mis. Etc. No way possible
How she buy the van!?????!
Someone telling a big fat lie.
How does she even pay taxes on the van???? With a $100 a month????
Please.
Oh. She on food stamps
Got a government phone
But how do you buy a newer van on that income. Pay taxes.
I’m curious how she doing that.
@@serenityjewel May God bless you for understanding what some people go through.
Bless you. You spoke to me today. I'm 60 and just left a job after 30 yrs. I could not take the negativity and stress it was causing me another day. I'm very fortunate but at the same time in no way finicially stable enough to retire. I'm nervous but I know I am determined to be ok. I know I am being watched over everyday. Never lose my Faith.
This lady is so smart! I've started over many times and doing for you is what you should do!
God bless this dear woman. She has truly learned to be a warrior and overcomer. I wish so much I could help her. I hope everyone who can help in some way will do so. She really needs support as she improves her life and survives right now. I prayed for her thru the video. I admire her efforts so much to move forward. She will be healthier and much stronger and wiser from this.
Wow what an incredible story ! The survival tips are great! I’ve had reactions autoimmune as well. I was put in Invisalign and ended up in ER with a swollen tongue and my whole mouth reacted to it. So scary I did recover from angio edema. Life threatening experience. I can appreciate what you are doing and get what is going on with your medical situation. What are you doing for the health insurance? And doctor appointments? This was an awesome and real video ! Must travel with a loving pet great tips about the scared animals I’ve put my cat on a leash and very cautious when opening any doors. Great tips !
wow, her advice is wise, insightful and helpful... like a Vanlife Oracle :) thank you for sharing of yourself
Vanlife Oracle is a dope name!
This was an excellent interview. Thank you and thanks to Patricia for allowing us into her world.
Good luck Patricia! You are so inspirational. What great words of wisdom to live by.
I really enjoyed listening to this woman's story. Great interview.
Thank you for this story… I’m 44 years old I want this type of life…. Freedom!!
What an interesting story and woman. Such determination. I am looking forward to seeing the tour of her minivan.
A beautiful message throughout and your questions were very incisive. I love the way you got the answers to everything I wanted to know. What a remarkable woman. Sending 🎉 vibes.
Wow that was awesome. She seems like a great lady.
She has gone through a lot but still has a great attitude!
Does this women have contact information
She does have her own UA-cam channel, link posted in comments above by Alison.
Patricia said she is an introvert. I don't think so but life made her feel that way. What an incredible composed interview you gave. Apparently the last year and a half or two years have been good for you. How this spirit was trapped in a mold infested apartment with no plan B is odd. Good luck with your future endeavors. Your message about God providing at just the right time is on point. We've experienced this time and again. My wife and our three boys while all in diapers traveled this way from Swansea, Wales to Brightlingsea, England. Faith makes it all seem possible and provides hope at the worse times. Incredible people along the way make a huge difference
She’s still an introvert, we talk a lot when we have something to say 😂. Also we’re very engaging when we are one on one with someone.
Patricia! You're amazing! I'm 54 and inspired. Thank you!
I think she is wonderful and positive and wise. ❤
What an amazing and beautiful woman! I wish her all the wonderful things she sees for her future❤
This woman is really grounded. Wish her many blessings. 👍🙏🏻😎🌊
I just found your channel and my hat goes off to you for all you have been through with your health and living out of your van. I too am in my 60's and come next April I will be a van dweller. I can't wait. I am getting the van worked on then comes building my van out. I hope to run into you and so many others through my up coming travels.. God bless
Thank you for sharing your story - keep your faith ! Be safe and happy with your cats ?🙏🇺🇸
I love this lady she sayes it all
All I can say is this is the true meaning of freedom in life. No house note, not alot of expenses and overhead each month. You can save. Travel more and live a happy life. God bless her and everyone that's living life van, bus , rv or car. As long as you wake up and you feel free. God bless.

Hello Hateall how are you doing,
Where are you from?
Looking forward to seeing the van tour next video. Would like to see Patricia’s contact info…maybe in writing? It was said so fast verbally.
And would very much like to see if we could do a go fund me for her or send her some support. The allergic condition sounds very serious and she sounds like she is doing a necessary steps to work her way back to health.
Very kind of you to interview her.
Hoping you are healing

Great video ♥️ nice to meet you and great message and good luck on your journey thanks for sharing with us
I have chronic Lyme and mold toxicity. My bulldog Thelma has had 2 bouts of atopic dermatitis from mold exposure. My SED rate was 80.I just moved out of Florida to Rhode Island and living in a place without mold or less mold maybe. Thelma’s skin hasn’t looked as good since she was a puppy. Her eyes aren’t tearing and they dont need to be wiped multiple times a day and her ears aren’t producing the gunk they did when we were in Florida. The crazy bags under my eyes are going away and my face isn’t swollen and distorted. I have friends that can tell the difference in me over the phone. It’s crazy how those mold spores get on everything. I am on disability. Very difficult to find somewhere without mold but then trying that with public housing is almost impossible. I wish you all the best in your health and your business and your kitties!!!🌸☀️🌸
You are a wonderful human. I truly enjoyed hearing your story. 🙏🏻
