I just found this band on UA-cam today. I am a lifelong Chicago fan. These guys are great. The musicians could replace Chicago's musicians and no one would know the difference and far as sound is concerned. Wow!

I CANNOT stop watching & listening to this group! Since I ‘discovered’ them, here on UA-cam, 2 weeks ago I’ve played their entire catalog over & over (& over ...). I marvel at the exquisite musicianship displayed by all of these immensely talented people and only wish I could could ‘sit in’ with them! Leonid’s ability to cipher these tracks - BY EAR - is reminiscent of the scene in ‘Amadeus’ (movie about Mozart) where Mozart hears Salieri’s march played once by the Emperor Joseph II ... which leads to Mozart sitting down and playing it and then running many variations off with ease. Okay, back to the present from my obscure movie reference ... Thank you so very much to all of you in Leonid & Friends for returning music, joy and hope back into my life!

We have seen L&F four times in concert, going for #5 in Jim Thorpe, PA on 5/31/24. I am a hopeless groupie. Go see them if you can, it's worth it, you will not be disappointed! :)
Totally agree. This is not just a mimic as it may seem. This is a beautiful tribute to Chicago's music and artistic musical vision way back then. Thank you.
Listening to them play make you feel like it's an early Sunday morning and the whole world is just getting up from a slumber, no wars, no fighting, no politics only a smile .
You can't find all of the original Chicago performances presented visually as good as these. That, plus the fact that they're so talented makes them so great.
Pablo Jose It is an incredible cover of one of my favourite Chicago tunes. I don't understand why people who don't like this music bother to come to these videos and give a thumbs down. They must have very sad lives. Anyone who loves Chicago would rate this very highly. Why would I want to click on videos of JayZ, Beiber and the like and give them all a thumbs down? I've better things to do like listening to Leonid and Friends, Toto, Boz Scaggs, Al Jarreau and other greats.
Some people, probably hiding under made up names, enjoy "stirring the pot" to annoy other people. Even if they don't love the music of Chicago (in which case one wonders why they'd be watching this video), I don't see how someone could criticize the professional, energized performance that L&F brings to every song. So there will always be a few out there who just love to see if they can get a rise out of people. Forget 'em.
@Alberto Guitar I understand. I think at least good cover songs keep the old original songs fresh, even if they sound the same....if that makes any sense. The excellent exceptions being Joe Cocker redoing a couple of Beatle songs and Gary Moore's rendition of Hendrix's Red House at the Fender 50th Anniversary.
Man what a horn section! Andrey Zyl is absolutely one of the finest section trumpet players I have ever heard! His rythms and attacks are spot on! This band does Chicago better than Chicago! They are so musical and precise! You know I believe they should make musicians the ambassadors between countries instead of politicians! We always get along!🎺🎵🎶
When one listens to Leonid and Company, we are reminded of what ral music sounds like. The blistering arrangements and execution of the music if Chicago is lost on the new millennials. This is what music was meant to be. You can't help but tap your foot to the beat and admire the talent of the musicians and singers. WOW! Thank you so much for this. Outstanding.
I don't think so, because they just keep up coming up with yet another Chicago cover! i am waiting for "Introduction" , first cut, first album, 1969. "Patience pays", as US 1 from Miami to Key Largo used to post for the passing lane.
I LOVE how they have a little laugh at the end because they know they nailed it! Laughter and music are universal - I LOVE that these Russian musicians are breathing life back into some amazing 70s Music from the USA!
A co-worker mentioned them about 6 months ago and I've listened to them every day since! It's crazy. Maybe it's the video, I'm not sure but I got hooked.
i have commented many times on Leonid & Friends and not only follow them but have seen them in person and met them. Yes there are fans and then there are musicians like myself that know and appreciate the artistry of these impeccable musicians. Being picky as any lifelong musician would be, i listen to every single note played from the arrangement itself and find each and every single one of these artists as premier of their instruments (voices)! Astounding! Can't wait to hear them "live" again!
She really is gorgeous, but if you ever see them live, she's not really that noticeable because of how damned good the band is. I thought I'd sit there and drool over her for the whole show, but only while she was singing lead did I focus much on her. That said, damned fine looking woman with a beautiful voice.
Wow, ... I thought Leonid had performed most of Chicago's songs, ... and then I just saw this video minutes after it was uploaded. Almost forgot about this song, ... sounds great.
Oh.My.Goodness. I have a sort of bad day at work, I come home and immediately I am in a better place watching and listening to your musical genius. Thank you Leonid and All, simply incredible.
Bill, Before my younger passed away he played drums in a rock band so I’ve always been partial to great drummers. Igor is a beast for sure. I was lucky enough to shake his hand when they played in Annapolis Md last years tour. They are absolutely point on live. I can’t wait for the next tour. Thanks
@@mt.rushmore7916 Go see them sometime, they are as good live as you hear them here! In my part of the USA, Jim Thorpe, PA 7/16/20, Penn's Peak, it's a nice venue.
Each time I watch this, I focus on a different instrument, they all are perfect. But man, that drummer just keeps it all together on all of their songs.. Just terrific
Just saw them LIVE last weekend in Annapolis, MD as part of their Fall Colors Tour. The sound blew me off my chair! They were amazing-even more so in person! I HIGHLY recommend to see them if they come to your area! LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
I agree with that statement, I found about this band 2 and half years ago when family got together for our Mom's funeral and my sister's husband was surfing the net and found them and the kicker was when they got back to Virginia Beach VA they got concert tickets and it was right on the ocean front how awesome that must've been I was jealous to say the least. So I'm getting to the age of trying to empty my bucket list, seeing this band is now on top of my bucket! I only hope they come close to if not in the GR8 state of Wisconsin!
Just awesome!!! Such talent across the board. I love how the drummer never overplays any of these songs. Just consistent greatness!!! Vocals are excellent!
When us Chicago fans have to settle for dusty recorded versions of the originals... Leonid & Friends are OUTSTANDING bringing back the flawless live versions of these superb tunes. Again, BRAVO!!!!!
Do you think the entire band is playing at the same time, or do they record different musicians separately and piece it together? Hard for me to tell from the video if everyone is in the same room.
Steven Reichert They are not playing at the same time. It’s a studio recording with probably several takes and overdubs. The video was shot just to give the recording some visuals.
All of these musicians are unbelievably talented and terrific vocals. Serge is an amazing vocalist. He can sing anything. A star in the making I think after a hair cut lol..
These guys are highly accomplished musicians and singers sadly in short supply these days, such talent! And keeping alive the bands I loved as a young man: CTA & Chicago true, and let's not forget Blood, Sweat & Tears, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Pacific Gas & Electric....... There's some blues in these bands, but in these Russians - a ton of joy in my book. As a former soldier for decades, I say make music, not war!
Every time I listen to and watch L&F’s videos, I’m pleasantly reminded of my teen years growing up in the 70’s, the music of the day, which always included Chicago, and the carefree life I had. Thank you L&F for bringing life back to classic music and for walking me down memory lane. Always such a joy!
This is the best viewing on UA-cam right now. I'm amazed at the talent, musicianship and production. Please come to Newfoundland. I'll be the first to buy a ticket. God Bless all of you.
Outstanding - musicianship of the highest order. And so obviously enjoying making it for others to enjoy. Had really forgotten how much I loved this band's
Any band that can inspire another band to become one of the greatest bands in the world has got to be one of the greatest bands in the world. I told Ksenia she could do whatever makes her happy. She chose this and I'm happy to see her happy.
Where do I begin....I grew up in Chicago, late-60s through the 70s, and of course loved listening to Chicago on the radio, this was/is my all-time favorite song and I gotta tell ya when I first heard of Leonid and his Chicago covers I was very pleasantly surprised, they were incredible! BUT to me the litmus test was gonna be if they ever sang "call on me" the horns, the voice, and of course the congas...where would they find someone to duplicate what is one of the most memorable parts of this song? BUT THEY DID IT....they hit a grandslam! Leonid and friends is hands down the very best Chicago cover group on the planet! Javi
Leonid and Friends have captured my admiration for their fantastic and technically superior covers of Chicago's hits. Ksenia Buzenia has definitely captured my heart with her talent and beauty. A solid fan here.
So I'm listening to Chicago's studio recording with my eyes shut, then listen to Leonids piece,DAM amazing ! Leonids is Crisper and more Vibrant. And I LOVE Chicago,Im from the 70s so I am blown away. Fantastic that these Musicians can feel their music. Outstanding.Horns need to come back!
Not only is Igor considered the best drummer in Russia, he is one of the best in the world. And as good as he is, I can attest that he still practices 2-3 hours every day!
I only learned about them this weekend. Just missed their show right here in Wilmington DE by a few months! Good to hear the positive feedback - Now I have to decide either Jim Thorpe PA or Alexandria VA in Summer 2020!!
You are the definitive group of the most talented musicians I have ever heard... Subscribed 🎧🎵🎶🎷🎸🎹🎺 Simply phenomenal!!!! Absolutely flawless perfection.......
Great job! You guys --and the beautiful Ksenia--knocked it out of the park and bring a freshness and enthusiasm that is sadly missing in Chicago these days. You make a 45 year old song sound new.
I like how the camera introduces Ksenia for the lyric's "I love you"! Perfect. How can you dislike any song with horns a blazing? Chicago tunes are my fix!
6th view and 1st comment! Up late in USA and saw your notification, had to watch and was smiling the whole time! Everyone in your band does an outstanding job with covers of songs from bands I grew up listening to when I was a boy. Please tell your musicians we really appreciate all the effort and expertise in producing these great songs! Many thanks!
And from what I understand none of these folks speak English. Truly amazing that they are able to learn these songs by rote and sing them so well. I am positive I could never learn to sing even a nursery rhyme in their language.

Probably not...i'd guess that's why they are so in demand...and from the videos it shows that they thoroughly enjoy process.
Maybe I'm weird but I have that beautiful woman saying, "I love you" on a loop and I just can't get enough of it.
😂😂😂
My new favorite cover band. I love every song I heard thus far. Such talent.
They have taken me back to the “Old Days” of the 70’s....great performance
Great job guys!
Absolutely fantastic version of the song 😃
I LOVE how they have a little laugh at the end because they know they nailed it! Laughter and music are universal - I LOVE that these Russian musicians are breathing life back into some amazing 70s Music from the USA!
Made me cry as I think of my Wife.who passed in January.
Excellent rendition of a wonderful song.
God a friend turned me on to these these guys this week. I can’t stop listening. Amazing.
They will be touring again in 2020. See them live .. will blow your mind!
A co-worker mentioned them about 6 months ago and I've listened to them every day since! It's crazy. Maybe it's the video, I'm not sure but I got hooked.
Welcome to crowd.
i have commented many times on Leonid & Friends and not only follow them but have seen them in person and met them.
Perfectly stated. As a musician, like you I listen to every note played and vocalized. This group of musicians and vocalists are as good as it gets.
I dont know who admire more, Ksenia beauty or the whole Band. Both are amazing
She's stunning.
She loves her some her... 🙄
Ksenia is hotness inc.
She really is gorgeous, but if you ever see them live, she's not really that noticeable because of how damned good the band is. I thought I'd sit there and drool over her for the whole show, but only while she was singing lead did I focus much on her. That said, damned fine looking woman with a beautiful voice.
@@davidvanwagener6097 check her out on UA-cam doing a cover of rolling Stones Satisfaction.
Wow, ... I thought Leonid had performed most of Chicago's songs, ... and then I just saw this video minutes after it was uploaded. Almost forgot about this song, ... sounds great.
Eric McDowell no way there are so many they can do. I’m looking forward to more. Remember Chicago had like 35 albums lol
@@billrhea Agreed - there are many more they could/should do ... but I'm not complaining - they've done many already, and every single one is great.
i think theyve done this before
The band rocks , bass player great, also vocals, drummer , keyboard, saxophones, guitars , trumpets, bongos, keep music ( alive )., thankyou.
Oh.My.Goodness. I have a sort of bad day at work, I come home and immediately I am in a better place watching and listening to your musical genius. Thank you Leonid and All, simply incredible.
This drummer is rock solid. Love watching him work.
I met Igor. He is very humble. I complimented him on his playing and he said "I try"...lol.
Founder drummer with jazz-rock group Chicago, Danny Seraphine has much respect for tribute band Leonid & Friends' drummer, Igor Javad-Zade.
Bill,
Before my younger passed away he played drums in a rock band so I’ve always been partial to great drummers. Igor is a beast for sure. I was lucky enough to shake his hand when they played in Annapolis Md last years tour. They are absolutely point on live. I can’t wait for the next tour. Thanks
How did he get Ohio state goodies?
From their US tour in ‘19.
I play over and over. Thanks for all the love and sacrisfice gathering with this music ❤❤❤
Exact right down to the very note .... Couldn’t have picked anyone any better than Chicago,, Great Performance...
Only better, actually!
Oh my gosh Im a Chicago girl, come on so..spot on! Great job, so proud you, sound and enjoy what you di! Thank you!
I grew up loving the original Chicago band. You guys are fantastic, bringing that great sound to live again! Thanks!!
How about there take on E W & Fire ! ! !
Was wondering when they would do this! Excellent!
Just awesome!!! Such talent across the board. I love how the drummer never overplays any of these songs. Just consistent greatness!!! Vocals are excellent!
What a great surprise to wake up and see s new video uploaded by Leonid and Friends! Already a great day!
I am completely blown away..the vocals are better than the original....WOW!
IVOR WM sorry, nobody replaces Peter Cetera.
They are very very good though
Been loving these songs since i was a teenager and to hear and SEE it being played by this band makes me feel like a teenager again thank you😊
When us Chicago fans have to settle for dusty recorded versions of the originals... Leonid & Friends are OUTSTANDING bringing back the flawless live versions of these superb tunes. Again, BRAVO!!!!!
True artists! Every single one in the group.
They are a real class act. And they look they enjoy what they do, i.e. playing to American audiences. It looks like they have fun regardless...
This is incredibly accurate. If I didn’t hear the different voices I would think that this was THE Chicago doing a different take
They ARE amazing!!!
Me too!
No lip-sync, no overdubbing, all live. How damn good is that?
CRAZYYYYYY GOOD!
LOL, not true. Obviously it requires many takes.
Do you think the entire band is playing at the same time, or do they record different musicians separately and piece it together? Hard for me to tell from the video if everyone is in the same room.
You should be watching me instead Kermie
Steven Reichert They are not playing at the same time. It’s a studio recording with probably several takes and overdubs. The video was shot just to give the recording some visuals.
All of these musicians are unbelievably talented and terrific vocals. Serge is an amazing vocalist. He can sing anything. A star in the making I think after a hair cut lol..
I love this band! I love Chicago's music. Wow! I'm just blown away! Great job! Over the top!
Now THIS is a cover band I’d pay to go see. I usually hate covers but this is so amazing!!
We have seen them three times. You will not be disappointed. :)
Just got my tickets to see them in Sacramento in 2 days!
I am going to see them in Pennsylvania
I did pay to go see them and it was well worth it!
Just amazing. I've been going back/forth between the original Chicago recording and Leonid's version. WOW... Just WOW!
What is not to like about this outfit. So so good. Special mention to the drummer. He just drives this sound.👍
Perfecto! Superb! Bravo! Thank you! We so appreciate your labor of love in providing such great performances and videos. You guys rock!
Leonid and Friends you ALL make me so happy with your beautiful and amazing music thank you thank you thank you !!! A million times thank you.
WOW!!!! Insane!!! Can not tell the difference between the original and cover. Love this song! Love this Band!!!!! Gives me butterflies and smiles!!!!
Smoked it as always guys.. )
Nice blend/mix of the horns.
She looks very happy!
I actually don't know Ksenia. LoL
@@jazz4asahel 😂😂. Good one.
Javi
Great music and video. I love it. Keep up the good work guys.
Never gets old listening to one of their Chicago covers!!
Leonid and Friends have captured my admiration for their fantastic and technically superior covers of Chicago's hits. Ksenia Buzenia has definitely captured my heart with her talent and beauty. A solid fan here.
Me too Alexander!
Same here. I’ve done the same . Incredible what Leonid has done.
Blowing section is superb
The drummer is magnificent
Not only is Igor considered the best drummer in Russia, he is one of the best in the world. And as good as he is, I can attest that he still practices 2-3 hours every day!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I always feel like it's Christmas when I get notified of a new video!!! I love you guys so freaking much!!!
Just saw them on Dec 8 2019 in Ft Lauderdale. They are better than advertised. Incredible live.
Seen them in Pittsburgh. Great group. Loved every minute of it.
@@peterpietrzak8200 We saw them in Jim Thorpe, PA July 2019. They are coming back in July 2020. Can't wait!
I only learned about them this weekend. Just missed their show right here in Wilmington DE by a few months! Good to hear the positive feedback - Now I have to decide either Jim Thorpe PA or Alexandria VA in Summer 2020!!
Saw them in Naples Florida in December too and they were phenomenal!!!
I regret missing that show. I heard it was beyond amazing.
You are the definitive group of the most talented musicians I have ever heard...

Simply phenomenal!!!!
Absolutely flawless perfection.......
Her amazing beauty....only overshadowed by the amazing talent of the band as a whole.
Great job! You guys --and the beautiful Ksenia--knocked it out of the park and bring a freshness and enthusiasm that is sadly missing in Chicago these days. You make a 45 year old song sound new.
I'm thankful for Chicago paving the way for L&F 😅🙏🏾
L&F are my #1 playlist ! Love this song and everything else they do !!
I like how the camera introduces Ksenia for the lyric's "I love you"! Perfect.
How can you dislike any song with horns a blazing? Chicago tunes are my fix!
This group is INCREDIBLE. Of course, Ksenia is worth the price of admission 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Man, I think I AM IN LOVE WITH HER AND THE FANTASTIC MUSIC!!!
UncleEarl97 k ditto
More than just a cover band. I would love to see them do original stuff.
Billy Smith I saw them live. They speak English quite well!
@@billysmith8261 music is the universal language. As far as the lyrics, that's another story.
I've been waiting for your new uploading. Awesome, as always.
Please come to Japan !
You guys and Ksenia, love you from Japan.
How can you not love Russians? ❤
