I use these file folders and think they are the best. Easy to use and you can see exactly what designs are in them. Great to know someone has a similar system that works also for the scrap bits. Great video.
This is exactly how I’ve stored pattern paper for many years - Cropper Hopper plain folders, favorite brands like Crate in their own folders. I never got into kit clubs, so I store my single full sheets with my scraps, in color sorted CH folders that had the extra external pockets on them. I also keep holidays and theme album supplies (baby albums, Halloween, Library of Memories, School of Life) in their own folders. Even when I took breaks from paper scrapping, this made it easy to use up supplies for quick cards or let the kids know what they could use for school projects.
Love those Cropper Hopper folders. I wish they had the outside pockets on them for storing smaller scraps like the ones that come in the magazine style storage units. I love those, and being able to store scraps and stamps, and paper all in the same folder.
I have a few different storage options I use. I have some of the old Cropper Hopper plastic paper holders that I store much of my cardstock & patterned paper in. I sort by color for both. When I found a couple silverfish in my paper collection a while back (YUCK!!!), I started storing my paper in 2-1/2 gallon Ziploc baggies, inside my paper holders. Those are big enough to fit quite a bit of paper, and keep the bugs out! I do keep the zipper closure on each bag partly open, just to keep them from developing mildew. So far, so good! I also have several of the plastic 12x12" Recollections boxes. I store additional cardstock & paper in those, as well as more "themed" patterned paper. I built a cubby unit last year (kind of based on Ikea's Kallax unit) to fit those boxes & two 12x12" 3-drawer units for my large scraps, and have it under a tall work table I built several years ago. Of course, all my containers are labeled! :) For a few packs of paper, I have a Recollections "tower" unit that has 4 slanted shelves & 4 shallow drawers. I keep the paper on the shelves, again in Ziploc baggies. I don't buy much 12x12" paper anymore, so I'm trying to go with what I have on hand. Works for me! Thank you for sharing your tips & ideas, Elisa. I hope you have an awesome day! :)
I purged a lot, almost a foot tall of 12x12 when I moved! I had been collecting for years and I no longer scrapbook. Luckily the School system was happy to have them. I kept some patterned paper and cardstock which I store on a bookshelf in holders which keep it upright. I store by manufacturer as well. Christmas paper is separate, in fact I keep all Christmas supplies (paper, stamps, dies, embellies, etc.) together. Like those plastic folders you use.
My storage is a little like yours. I store paper pads vertically. The top shelf has pads I have not yet used, and kits. The second shelf has pads I have used, and the third has loose sheets I have put in 12x12 folders like those you use. When I have used about half of a pad, I transfer the paper, torn out of the pad, into the plastic folder along with scraps and ephemera. Those folders make so easy to keep things together. I also purchased some clear envelopes with snaps on them. I use them for scraps, and keep them by my work space so as I work I can put the scraps away, or get pieces to use for die cutting or stamping or pocket making. I have one horizontal shelf in a storage cube that I use to hold loose paper until I find time to file them. I have not take the time to label my folders, though. But it still works as I have a small space and a limited number of storage cubes. When I use 6x8 or 6x6 pads, I use the envelopes with snaps and keep all of the paper, scraps and coordinating stamps and solid papers in them. I sometimes use project boxes, but mostly for big projects like Christmas, for which I have much too much paper, dies, embossing folders and ephemera of all kinds. Thanks for your video and your ideas. I will certainly use some of them.
I love this idea. I have been trying to figure out how to store all my 12 x 12 papers more efficiently. I just ordered some of the plastic file folders. I keep getting more organized day by day. Still got my stamps organized as you showed in a previous video (I think it was from last year?). I have my stencils in 3 ring binders in page protectors (one binder is a 12 x 12 size I had hanging around for years!!!). Thanks for sharing your solutions to storage and organizing supplies.
Tks for the tips. I too store by kit or product line when I buy multiple pieces of the same line. I love your scraps storage as I tend to throw the scraps back in the kit. I have thousands, literally thousands, of sheets of paper so I also store by theme. I struggled for a while by storing my just paper purchases by product line and because I have so much I found I forgot what theme was where so I ended up just hoarding paper. But now stored by theme I have bins or slots for themes including textured or specialty papers so it makes it easier to find! Thanks again.
I have recently given my lounge a makeover, so I now have a completely new and different craft area and new furniture. So, unpacking my craft supplies……..hmmm, not as easy as I thought! I’ve recently bought similar paper holders to you, stored in a ikea kallax bin, just as a part time solution. Now however, seeing how much easier it is to identify and access what you need by organising and placing them as you have done, I’m finally decided!! Thanks for sharing these idea’s, all I need to do now is buy a few more of the paper wallets and get organising!! 😁 As an extra bonus, you’ve saved me from paying out a lot of money for 12 x 12 storage racks, which would of been, for me, a system that just would not of worked. I’m going to subscribe now and hope to find more storage treasures on your channel 😁
You are the bomb and always come through in the nick of time. Just ordered the file folders and will check my local Dollar Tree for file folders, too! Thanks a million! ❤️
I also store my paper by designer- you just get to know their style- so depending on the project I want to create, my brain automatically takes me to the right designer and collection.
Just started using and adding to my 12×12 collection. Was looking for a storage solution when I saw your video. I have a tiny space in my living room at and this seems ideal. Thank you. Will give this a try.
I LOVE your UA-cam name....gotta know the history behind that one....not that I' m ever guilty of waiting til Hubby goes to bed before I bring in my stamping purchases🤪
ScrappyWife That’s a good idea. Then I can sort them according to stripes, flowers, plain etc. It will be a huge task as I have about 10 pads but it will make it easier to access them. Thank so much for your great ideas.
Yes, I also store some of my paper this way. Other papers that don't go with an collection, I store by theme. You've got a really nice space by the way!
In the past I have used the Storage Studio (SS) Paper Files shown in your video for paper collections/kits. I store them in the SS Paper Holders (which are about 2.75" wide). The SS Paper Files are great. They are very sturdy and will last forever. The downside is that they can be expensive depending on how much paper you have. I currently have about 50 SS Paper Files holding kits/collections. The unit cost for one of the paper files is around $2, which means 50 paper files I own costs $100 (yikes!). I recently started using 12x12 record album covers (from Amazon) to store my collections/kits. The record album covers are more bag like when it comes to thickness, but they only cost $.25 a piece (1/8th of the price of the SS Paper Files). The record album covers won't last forever, but I think they're durable enough to last a long time. They should be able to be reused on another kit if the contents of the first kit is used up. They fit upright in the SS Paper Holders quite nicely. There's no tab at the top, so I just place a label containing the kit's name on the top left side of the bag. If I was doing it over again, I'd save the money and use the record album covers for my kits/collections. 12x12 cardstock that is not part of a kit/collection is stored by color or pattern in the SS Paper Holders using only tab dividers to group the paper (no separate files used).
They can certainly add up, but I've been buying just little by little as I need them, so not too bad! And yes, I was checking out the larger holders as well.
I love the storage studio files. I love the ones with the pockets on the outside for storing scraps, stamps and ephemera. I wish they were for sale alone. I like the magazine type unit as well for keeping the files in. They truly are expensive. I have never seen the album covers. Will check that out. Thanks
Thanks soo much! I just got 3 of the 12 x12 clear packets you showed in a video recently on Amazon, and they are soo nice and sturdy!! But I need more, I find, now I am remodeling a spare bedroom for my "War Room" /sewing room and rearranging things..your videos on storage and organization have helped me soo much! I appreciate your sharing these ideas with us! I currently use 12" x 12" storage craft boxes, I bought at Zulily.com like so many things I get..problem is you wait 2-4 weeks before they come!! BUT the price is always great! Yesterday so much Spellbinder, Cricut, Sizzix, and other craft companies were listed..nice.
Loveeee this! I currently store in a 12x12 clear box from Michaels. As my collection get bigger I know this won't hold on much longer! Thanks for the ideas! ♡
This is the first video of yours that I’ve watched, great storage ideas! I use Cropper Hoppers, sorted by manufacturer and I keep all the paper from the line together. I love that you allow one folder per line to encourage you from not accumulating too much paper from one line. I have one Cropper Hopper for just Doodlebug Designs. I guess I’m hoarding??? 😝
My paper is in 10 - three drawer units. I just can't force myself to purge so I better start using them up. I love your system but it won't work for my collections.....but I may start using your idea for some of the smaller collections and free up some space. Love your ideas. Blessings
my papers are put in clear 12x12 boxes, each box is done by color. I store anna griffin papers in own box. small paper packs still trying to find a good idea that will work for me. and paper scraps geeze way to many. love youre ideas.
I love your videos! I've been a crafter for many years~and somewhat organized. However, I REALLY need to make changes in my craft room and organization styles. Thank you for helping me to do this!. Nancy Sale
Do the scrap paper folders have multiple pockets on the front? From the video it looks like it, however the link for the product is just one full sheet.
Storage is my biggest problem!!! I love your system... I store mine in an old magazine rack.. it is very full and really like your idea about using what you have ... I need to stop buying!!!!
I wish I was organized enough to use a system like this. I've tried similar filing methods, but would typically end up pulling out so many folders to use together at the same time that I end up with more of a mess than a file system. I ended up sorting mostly by color, and making vertically tiered organizer so I could see all my colors and patterns at a glance. But I do use your system for scraps: I have a binder full of page protectors sorted the exact same way!
Hi you mentioned that you have a video on how you made your scrap paper folders they look like they’re clear with the black trim could you tell me what the name of that video is you have a Lotta videos and I love your videos you have a lot of great ideas I’d like to implement using your file system at least for my Scott papers if nothing else I’m not sure I like the 12 x 12 system that you use I’m just not sure that I would remember all the designer papers that I have and I don’t think I have enough of one to do it that way so I may do it by color as you said you used to do but anyways in the meantime would you consider sharing that video and let me know which one it’s M I would appreciate it thank you keep up the great organizing videos I love them
I hope you see this, I know the video is old but can you point me in the right direction for what I need to create the labels you use on the plastic folders. I'm assuming it is a Cricut of some sort. I'm a complete novice but would love to be able to label things like that. Thanks so much and I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season!
I love this idea. Can you please share how you put the names on the file folders and what font it is ? I really like that I have my paper store by collections in these pockets I get from HL and would love to put the names on them . TFS all your organizational ideas
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching this. Your very very organised aren’t you? Where did you get those plastic folders from? I really really now to get my papers in order.....I think it’s going to take some time though!!!!!! But, I only have a small craft room, and that’s more reason to be organised. TFS. Stay safe and well too xxx Mags
ScrappyWife thanks. I don’t thinks it’s the one i meant, though. I love the type at the very beginning 0.13’ (bible journaling, art journaling, memory keeping and so much more). Do you know which is that one?
I always end up pulling mine apart. I find that it is easier for me to work with the papers when they are loose as opposed to storing them in the paper pads.
I don't pull mine apart. When I have used about half of a pad, I tear the pages out and keep them in the type of folder that was in the video from Storage Studio, on Amazon. I make cards, so I will usually try and make some cards, an album or two, and then cards from the little pieces. Sometimes I try to use up as much of a pad as I can before going to another pad. I have been successful at using up about 3 pads. With only two or three pages left and scraps not worth saving, I put the pages in with my loose paper and throw away the scraps.
I like this idea, especially for the Designer Kits. In your supply list it seems like the product linked wasn’t the same. Can you confirm? Thanks, Elisa!
I like your idea, especially for the Designer Kits. In the supply list it seems like a different one was linked. Can you confirm for me? Thanks, Elisa!
Great idea Can you buy these paper holders at Hobby Lobby's I think Paper Studio is their brand name? They have 50% off on their products every other week
I buy too many 12 x 12 packets to worry about designer. I separate mine by type of design. Every one does it differently and you could have shared how to adapt your system.
So glad that you have a system that works for you! You are correct, a lot of people do it differently, just wanted to share what is working for me. Have a great weekend!
Are you referring to a subscription club? If you are interested in a certain brand, head to their website and see if they have a subscription service available. Easy as that!
Great video - I just bought those 12 x 12 plastic folders you showed on a previous video to prep scrapbook pages or cards or bible journaling on the go. I love Stamp-n-Storage (www.stampnstorage.com) for all my solids (8.5 x 11 & 12 x 12) and 6 x 6 paper pads. I use the paper crates and paper holders. My subscription papers are in clear plastic 12 x 12 scrapbook case (FJ and HKC). Echo park and Creative Memories goes in Creative Memories totes.
Currently working on a storage solution for the scraps. I use an Anna Griffin paper storage box for my 12x12. I was thinking of making a wooden box with dividers. Come check out my channel and my craft room tour video.
I find them to be a really great quality and they have held up so well, so I am completely pleased with the purchase. I also like to check back on the price, because it does fluctuate.
I use these file folders and think they are the best. Easy to use and you can see exactly what designs are in them. Great to know someone has a similar system that works also for the scrap bits. Great video.

I love "lounge" instead of just "craft room" :D
You are the bomb and always come through in the nick of time. Just ordered the file folders and will check my local Dollar Tree for file folders, too! Thanks a million! ❤️

I wish I could be so organized, but I purchase paper in 12 x 12 pads and I have to store mine on a shelf standing up. Thanks for sharing.
I like the paper pads too, I just like to go ahead and remove the paper from the pad!
ScrappyWife That’s a good idea. Then I can sort them according to stripes, flowers, plain etc. It will be a huge task as I have about 10 pads but it will make it easier to access them. Thank so much for your great ideas.

Currently using drawers. This would save me so much space!
It makes it easier to see what you have as well!
Thank you for this video. This is really helpful. Been trying to figure out the best way to organize them. Again, thank you, and God bless.
You are so welcome!

Love it! Can't wait to hear more about your new room!
Loveeee this! I currently store in a 12x12 clear box from Michaels. As my collection get bigger I know this won't hold on much longer! Thanks for the ideas! ♡
yes, the boxes from Michaels work great, I just like having the papers sorted a bit more! Thanks for watching!
Haha, we all hoard a bit! I actually had to have two Maggie Holmes folders 😂
ScrappyWife good choice!! 😝 hoarding goes with the hobby. I should trademark that saying!
My paper is in 10 - three drawer units. I just can't force myself to purge so I better start using them up. I love your system but it won't work for my collections.....but I may start using your idea for some of the smaller collections and free up some space. Love your ideas. Blessings
You got this! Time to use those supplies!
my papers are put in clear 12x12 boxes, each box is done by color. I store anna griffin papers in own box. small paper packs still trying to find a good idea that will work for me. and paper scraps geeze way to many. love youre ideas.
Sounds great!
Thank you for sharing this is a great way to keep the paper. I am new at this so this helps me a lot 😊
Glad it was helpful!
I love your videos! I've been a crafter for many years~and somewhat organized. However, I REALLY need to make changes in my craft room and organization styles. Thank you for helping me to do this!. Nancy Sale
You can do it!
I love this idea for different companies. Currently I use pizza boxes for echo park etc.
Nice!
I love that idea very neat thanks from share
Thank you! 😊
Love your ideas! Your very good at explaining too! Love your Labels♡
Thank you so much!
Love this idea! I also love the vinyl labels- I’m going to try that!
I love the pop of color!
What font did you use? I love this idea!
I love this idea! I have been using cut down boxes. 🤣 I will be doing this starting this weekend!
Have fun!
Do the scrap paper folders have multiple pockets on the front? From the video it looks like it, however the link for the product is just one full sheet.
Yup, they do! I have another video where I explain it, but basically those are clear adhesive pockets that I use to hold smaller pieces of paper.
Love those pockets.
They work so well!
Storage is my biggest problem!!! I love your system... I store mine in an old magazine rack.. it is very full and really like your idea about using what you have ... I need to stop buying!!!!
It's a problem we all have...there are just so many pretty supplies out there!
This is a great idea for storage. Thank you for sharing 🤗
Thanks for watching!
Great idea.
Glad you think so!
You definitely have to go with a system that works best for you...sounds like you found one!
Thank you so much! Great storage solutions :)
Glad it was helpful!
Hi you mentioned that you have a video on how you made your scrap paper folders they look like they’re clear with the black trim could you tell me what the name of that video is you have a Lotta videos and I love your videos you have a lot of great ideas I’d like to implement using your file system at least for my Scott papers if nothing else I’m not sure I like the 12 x 12 system that you use I’m just not sure that I would remember all the designer papers that I have and I don’t think I have enough of one to do it that way so I may do it by color as you said you used to do but anyways in the meantime would you consider sharing that video and let me know which one it’s M I would appreciate it thank you keep up the great organizing videos I love them
Here ya go - ua-cam.com/video/gwG50NnVIK8/v-deo.html
This is great idea! My papers are a bit of a mess. Great wY to organize them!
This worked so well for me - I am loving it!
What a great idea!!
Thank you! 😊
Hi, how are you? What kind of paper you use? Your room is very organized.🥰
I have all kinds! A lot from Felicity Jane & Hip Kit Club!
Hey Judy! Yes, I cut all of those labels out with my Cricut using removable vinyl.
Very practical, thanks
You bet!
Great ideas!
Thank you! 😊
I love this idea.
Can you please share how you put the names on the file folders and what font it is ?
I really like that I have my paper store by collections in these pockets I get from HL and would love to put the names on them .
TFS all your organizational ideas
I was going to ask what font that is also!
Sticker vinyl?
I cut out these names using permanent vinyl and my Cricut Explore Air 2. The font is Arab Brushstroke Standard Regular.
Yes way better than piles and piles all laying on top of each other that rarely see the light of day. Only I have way too many to even try
Haha, piles would drive me crazy!
Thank you!!! This is agree idea
Glad it was helpful!
Great information. What is the max amount of 12x12 paper one can hold?
One full paper pad is pushing the limits, but it works for the most part.
Fantastic tip thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Love the idea! 😊 What is the font that you use for the company names on the sides of the folders? Thank you!
Arab Brushstroke Standard Regular - cut out with my Cricut Explore Air 2!
@@ScrappyWife Thank you!

Hmmm, I don't know for sure. Holds a pretty good amount for sure.
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching this. Your very very organised aren’t you? Where did you get those plastic folders from? I really really now to get my papers in order.....I think it’s going to take some time though!!!!!! But, I only have a small craft room, and that’s more reason to be organised. TFS. Stay safe and well too xxx Mags

ua-cam.com/video/gwG50NnVIK8/v-deo.html
really useful ideas! i love the font you use in editing the video, can you tell me what type is it? thanks!
Arab Brushstroke
ScrappyWife thanks. I don’t thinks it’s the one i meant, though. I love the type at the very beginning 0.13’ (bible journaling, art journaling, memory keeping and so much more). Do you know which is that one?
What do you recommend for those paper pads? I never know what to do with them. I hate to pull them apart and separate them but maybe I should?
Just click on the "paper file"!
Can you check on the link, it comes up as a holder for lots of paper and not the slim version you are showing?
Great tips for paper storage I wonder where you got those 12x12 clear storage file folder?
Linked in the video description!
I like your idea, especially for the Designer Kits.
In the supply list it seems like a different one was linked. Can you confirm for me? Thanks, Elisa!
So, it looks like the link takes you to the general page - click on "paper file" for the exact product that I was showing!
Love this! But how do you label your folders?
I labeled them with permanent vinyl cut out with my Cricut Explore Air 2.
Where did you purchase the clear file folders that hold the 12 x12 papers?
Amazon - linked in the description box for this video!

Picked them up from Amazon...there is a link in the description box below.
Where do you find the upright holders that hold 12x12?
The folders are linked in the video description box! I bought mine on Amazon. The magazine files I have only hold 8.5x11

Sorry about that - all fixed I think :)
How do you label these?
I use permanent vinyl and my Cricut!
Where do you get your folders?
They are linked down below as 12x12 Plastic File Folders. Ordered from Amazon.
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for watching!
The link down below doesnt lists those file folders...
Hmmm, that is so strange. The link works for me....brings me to Amazon to order the folders. Is it bringing you to a larger storage unit?
I buy too many 12 x 12 packets to worry about designer. I separate mine by type of design. Every one does it differently and you could have shared how to adapt your system.
So glad that you have a system that works for you! You are correct, a lot of people do it differently, just wanted to share what is working for me. Have a great weekend!
I do not see the link for the folders.
It's listed in the description box!
How do you find and get to belong to a club.I am new to going on line.
Love the idea of prepping the pages with these folders as well!
Looks like you used your Circut Explorer 2 to make the labeling ;)
You know it!
Currently working on a storage solution for the scraps. I use an Anna Griffin paper storage box for my 12x12. I was thinking of making a wooden box with dividers. Come check out my channel and my craft room tour video.
👍🏻
Great system to bad I didn't find it about 3 months ago. The system I made isn't working!
Aw, sorry to hear that! Hopefully this inspires you for the next time you reorganize!
I loved the idea of those folders but I'm completely taken aback that they are $9.99 for _3_ folders. That's price gouging as far as I'm concerned.
I find them to be a really great quality and they have held up so well, so I am completely pleased with the purchase. I also like to check back on the price, because it does fluctuate.
