More Jamie Please! He's awesome. I'd watch him and Dale talk for days.
Dale, have Jamie back…often.
I agree 100%. H's such a class act. Even when he was racing he wasn't my favorite driver that I always pulled for, but I was always happy for him when he won.
Wow, I didn't realize Jamie replaced Kurt, and Kurt replaced Jamie. This sport really does come full circle.
Jaime has always struck me as one of the most genuine guys in the sport. If there’s a nicer guy I’m surely not aware of them.
Kenny wallace! Jk jk, both are great guys. Love having them for the sport.
The Matt Kenseth quote at the end made me LOL. That is exactly how I felt about a lot of covid time-period related things. Nobody around, just getting to do my thing.
Facts 😂
Matt Kenseth!! 😂 Love his dry sense of humor!!!
What a great interview with a great statesman for the sport. What's really impressive is his delivery of his stories and i don't believe i ever heard a single "UHM"!
Imagine Dale & Jamie calling races together 🤩
One of the best podcast guests so far. Don't get me wrong, others were great, but this one was like sitting with 2 friends talking about old times. And being so honest and sincere with it.
get him back like twice a year..... could listen to this all day long..... can you please please please please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... post the video for this whole interview?
I love these interviews with former drivers. Everything is on the table and out in the open, boy is it telling! I watch JR and Kenny Wallace in my down time. Thanks for great content guys! I hardly watch TV anymore.
Jamie is pure class, he's top of the nice guy with class list in the history of the sport. He's pure human and his emotion shown during his win at Daytona showed me how great he truly is. No Ego just pure honesty and Integrity. We need more Jamie's in positions of Power so we can turn this disaster around
Jaime, Clint, and Sterling were absolutely hilarious together. Ah, I miss those days.
Jaime is superb! His openness and humility brings the stories to life. Dale seems so relatable to him also.
I absolutely love the truthfulness of the lives that you live outside of the cockpit. Jamie is one of the best at describing that.
I'm Inspired by this. Thank you Jamie
Great interview with Jamie. Wish he would do some one offs also.
Just post the whole thing 😂😂
Please
Awesome interview!!’
I remember being on summer vacation 2010, and I was watching the Brickyard 400, and I thought JPM had the car to beat, and when Jamie Mac pulled through and won the race, you saw Jamie's class and respect..... I sure as hell miss Jamie Mac out on the track (say that last part 5 times fast), but I certainly am happy to see him on TV
He's a good dude. I knew Jamie from his time in the sport and being a fan but knew little about him. Ya know. So, for me this was a great discussion. To loop back - Super Speedway his or any prowess...you seriously have to go in with a lunatic mentality to drive a car to that insane edge. In typical fashion that mindset of "don't f'ing care" was downplayed but the reality of mashing the throttle and running insane speed in bumper-to-bumper traffic is something few can fathom. When you add in the fact that you're probably going to crash and get jacked...upper echelon of lunacy. Even today with all the safety - that sh!t hurts, bad. I'd guess if Jr calls Jamie with a CARS opportunity, he'd go for it.
I’d of raced until I was 200! Classic!!
It's so interesting to me hearing how we has let go by Ganassi. I wish that he would have been able to stick around longer.
Jaime always seems like such a nice guy.
I drove Jamie around for driver intros at richmond once
Great episode!
what a good guy !!!
I miss Mcmurray so much!
Hard to believe Jamie doesn't have more wins. He always seemed to run at the front.
AFTER THE RACING IT IS NICE TO SEE MR. McMURRY IS HAPPY !!!!! I HAVE SEEN HIM AT ROUSH GARAGE AND OTHER PLACES. VERY NICE GUYS ..... JUST BAD TIMING AT ROUSH ~~~~~~~
I think most peoples careers are like that where when you look back you only enjoyed a very small part of it. I am a retired carpenter and had to retire early and never for a second thought that I missed it . I wouldn't mind playing around in shop making what I want but all of the rest of the BS ,back stabbing ,bosses blaming everyone for their own incompetence , grinding out deadlines mostly because the owners didn't put enough labor on the job to begin with.........
This seems to only apply in the USA. In Europe a truly professional career driver does not confine himself to only one form of motorsport. The other thing is that its a given that a driver gets the sponsor, not the team owner. That way you have leverage that does not depend on your winning in just one genre. You look at the great, long term sponsors of motorsport, like Gulf Oil and Porsche. They signed up becuse of the drivers.
So these days, drivers have to bring the sponsors and it's the sponsors who pay their way.
What other cars does Lewis Hamilton drive?
Good to know what the drivers actually think about the fans.
Drivers really enjoyed racing without the fans during COVID....you might not have to worry about that much longer 😂
You totally didn't understand what he was saying
@@vincewallett yeah I did, you just might have a little hero worship and aren't listening 😂
Jamie McMurray Is Awesome
JM ..........always a good dude.
Regrets... Wish I would've appreciated Jamie more back in the day instead harboring bitterness when he won or just out drove my driver. Can't think of a single problem with the guy & anytime I met him his was always a 1st class dude.
The drivers are miserable for the same reason that the loyal NASCAR fans are, because the Playoff System has sucked the fun out of NASCAR racing. The late 1990’s through late 2000’s were so much more fun times to be a part of the NASCAR world. Boy were those fun times, and with better decisions, NASCAR could return to that again, but it needs to stop the bad decision making.
As a former local short track racer i know alot of other racers that would love to have millions of fans and sponsor events and anything else to be able to drive a racecar for a living. Maybe Nascar needs to find people who are thankful for the opportunity and not hassled by it. I love the interviews but very disappointed to hear this.
U took kurts job then he took ur job.
I’m a fan of these guys but in all honesty they come across as millionaire cry babies about working so much it’s not like they were coal miners or steel workers , they travelled on private planes and lived it up
Lmao, not the takeaway most will get from this video. It’s just two genuine guys from the same career, who did it simultaneously, reminiscing about the good ole days.
They aren’t crying about anything, I saw more laughs than tears shed in this. Just talking about each other’s experiences on how some things went well and some didn’t.
@@arendrollonothing says "genuine guys" like getting rid of the fans to make you enjoy racing again😂
Entitled little shits😂
As an old super modified driver…yes I wasn’t too bold, that’s how I got old…raced tracks in Canada and US. It was like being in the circus…race, pack up head for next event. Fun,fun, fun. But eventually it started to feel like a job, and with sponsors events and hype you began to feel like a show-dog. No disrespect intended to anyone in other professions; I get what they are saying and they didn’t walk away from the sport they are enjoying another aspect of it.
@@arendrollo Yeah you must set in your office and feel bad for these guys there wining like they got paid minimum wage and worked for the money get real
Jamie is a class act.
