Really enjoying your vlogs. Love your down to earth sense of humour. I've been riding bikes for well over 40 years and had over 45 machines in that time. I've never given any off them a name !!! Totally agree though that you can build up a relationship with a machine. I had a love affair with a planer thicknesser and a rip saw back in the 90's!!!
Welcome Buddy! Great choice of bike, the T120 is suited to motorways and pillions, but for anything else the T100 is the perfect motorcycle, so easy and intuitive to ride, I just love riding it. Looking forward to seeing how your friendship grows. Really enjoying your laidback mutterings 👍
What a nice bedtime story! I mean, who would believe that you drove Buddie home (from an extended test ride!) and, that the bike had 1 mile on it when you took it out! Never happen! TAYM, only fairy tales end like that! Come on- we both know it! I fell asleep at the end, so it works for me! Buddie's story all wrapped up in 2 videos. Well done, sir.
I watched this video a couple of times and it just shows exactly my feelings I have when I take our Bonnie for a ride💖 So glad that Buddy came home TAYM💖
Nothing is ‘just …’ - including machines. That’s my opinion anyway 😊. The more of your videos that I watch, the more I want to watch and the more I enjoy them. Thank you so much for taking your time to share your thoughts. Blessings from Lancashire 🧙♀️.
Another great video! Congratulations on the addition of Buddy. I've always loved the style of the Bonneville and in general standard motorcycles. Also struggle with getting a higher end bike but know in the long run would be happier with the smaller or more basic version for my riding enjoyment. This video help remind me of that and if I get the chance to get a Bonnie in the future, it will likely be a T100 or street scrambler. I like scramblers too. Took my FZ6 I've had since new out yesterday and was just happy cruising along 55 to 70mph, which isn't even close to the power band (fun zone) of the bike. I love it and have a close relationship with it but realized over the years I would enjoy something a little less high strung most of the time.
Great reviews. I've wanted a Bonneville for ages. Nearly bought one a few years back but bought an Interceptor instead and regreted it. Recently tried a T120 but found it to be too heavy and didn't like moving it around. The dealer suggested a T100, what a difference, more comfortable, more nimble and suited me perfectly. So I bought it. Sound familiar? Top work Mr Taym. 👍
In spite of trying various accessories I had issues with the riding position, comfort and the foot pegs on the Interceptor. I find the T100 really comfortable and easy to ride and live with. Also the build quality is different class. The new Super Meteors look to be better quality but cruisers aren't for me.
Happy New Gold Line what a lovely addition to your lovely family what a great Vlog to wake up to, you had us all going I was thinking bet you buy it never thought you already had very good choice 👍
Spot on. Two very enjoyable reviews. I had a T120, and had the same issues as you have highlighted. A reluctance to turn in, and whilst the engine had fantastic torque, it was just too much for the majority of my riding around the Chilterns B roads. I also found the brakes lacked feel and we parted ways. Having said all that, I fancy another Bonnie, I'm intrigued by the changes they've made, and will shortly be arranging a test ride on the T100.
A very enjoyable video and commentary. I think that if I test rode one, I would be compelled to buy. Wrong lane indeed, ha ha. I thought that the name might be Steve, but Buddy fits.
Absolutely loved these 2 videos of the t100 i am in the same position in changing from a xc 1200 to either the t 120 or t100 you have given me and others all the relevant attributes of the t100 to bear in mind against the t120 in summary ur looks like the choice could be which us the best bike for ruding 80 per cent of the time for me the reality us motorway riding is 20 percent with the 80 per cent being A an B roads in Lancashire Cumbria and Yorkshire dales i will be looking to experience what you have done on both thede bikes to find the chosen one your message is clear power isnt everything its all round ride ability Triumph for the ride YourRide most enjoyable bike videos i have watched ps i love suffolk in particular Woodbridge area bought my caravan from sharmans in Ipswich last year although not relavant to biking i did enjoy your location and roads thanks again
What a wonderful comment 😁 thank you 😁 I wouldn’t worry about it’s motorway capabilities. I often use motorways and it cruises quite happily in excess of the national speed limit😁 plus in the upright position riding any bike above 80 can become tiring. Have you watched ua-cam.com/video/tk2novtLhk0/v-deo.html 😁
Ooooh you little tinker, playing us along knowing you'd already bought the bike! 🤣🤣 Sad that you didn't get along with Betty, but hope Buddy brings you much happiness!
I don't know if you're saying Betty or Birdie, but if you buy it you'll have to introduce him to her. What a way to make a sale. Good luck, and thanks again for an enjoyable ride...home?
Great video it sounds nice I had a new Triumph Thruxton in black with the gold strip down the middle of the bike that was in 2011 but Buddy will be improved 😊
Nice review. I just bought a 2019 street scrambler, if the opportunity comes I would love to hear your comparison of the t100 to the street scrambler. Again, helpful review. Thsnkyou.
Lovely video once again. As I wrote the other day, my own feelings were that the T100 was much better than the T120 for anything other than dual carriageways. Have I missed something - has Betty already moved on? The geometry between T100/T120 is ever so slightly different (I understand) and the lighter unsprung weight of the single disc makes for lighter turning. Influenced by your lovely reviews I'm rather tempted with the 900cc twins and have moved away from the 1200cc models. Wondering how the T100 compares to the Street Twin now that you've reviewed both. From your latter comments, it seems they are too close to split the two but unless I'm mistaken Buddy won the homecoming. It would be nice to hear your mutterings on a blow by blow of the each ones qualities that the other lacks. I have yet to ride the Street. I need to ride both now for my own comparison. Perhaps, like you, I'll want one of each (...to go with the Z900RS!) Thanks for a lovely 20 minutes.
I will do a video on it as soon as it is dry, don’t want Buddy to get wet just yet😂 in the meantime I would say the difference between the T100 and the Street is very subtle and could be in my head. I would say given that you have the Z900 go for the T100. This is because the Street made me feel more like my Z900 made me feel, naughty! And it’s nice to have a contrast. I don’t think you could go wrong with either and am sure you could ride the T100 in the same fashion.
I appreciate your Mutterings! Thank you. In my part of Canada, temperatures are crawling above freezing and my riding season will soon arrive. Yay!! A small point. You refer to your bikes by their names. You have Bertie and I know he/she is a Royal Enfield Classic 500 similar to the one I have. You had Tigger and that was easy but compared to my stable of 1 bike and 4 bicycles, you have a veritable herd of motorcycles. I know you have a Kawasaki W850, a Triumph T120, A Triumph Speed or Street Twin and maybe one of 2 more. Often you refer to your bikes by their names. Wendy? Betty? Who are they please? Sometimes it does not take much to confuse me and I am really confused about that. Please? Thanks!!
It is confusing, even for me. Bertie is a he, Betty was my T120 Black (hence Black Betty, a favourite song of mine), Betty has been replaced by Buddy (as in Buddy Hollly a favourite of my dad’s) and is a T100. Tigga was Tiger 1050 and a he and has been replaced by Biggles a Tiger 900. Wendy is a Kawasaki W800 Cafe. That is the total of my garage at the moment but I am on a quest to find another, perfect, bike.
Thanks for the great content. Enjoy your videos. I am a fan of the retro look of both Street twin and T100. Do you recon one would be better than the other for two persons up with some luggage for touring? What are your thoughts?
Hi been watching your UA-cam channel for a while just seen your latest one the triumph T100 goldline good video and was just wondering if you'd ever tried a beneli trk502? UA-cam has been circulating older videos in the general feed. I've sat on a 120 and it feels like a lot of engine heft for the style of motorcycle to me. The only thing I don't like about Buddy is those nasty warning stickers they polute onto the gas tank. 😎
I'm guessing you've found out by now that, for some reason, Triumph left riding modes off the T100 even though the Street Twin has two. I'm sure you won't miss them though.
Only two reasons to go for T120 over T100, one is power and second is cruise control. If you don't need these then it's a waste of money in my opinion.
It’s a very easy accessory to add. Sold by Triumph. Dealer activated for free. Simple one push button. Just something to think about if no cruise is a deal breaker for you.
