@@florinaschilean6143 Let me explain, ive made a joke 2 years ago, that ive forgot I made, and now that ive watched that part again I got it, so the joke goes hand in hand with the op's comment, so Artanis says "I will bring our great dream of a unified Protoss" and here is where the op's comment comes and says "but first you must construct additional pylons", yes I know I know its not funny, but hey thats the association ive made back then.
It is warming to my heart seeing the dark shrines on Aiur. The dark templars are finally home. The mercy of Adun, the sacrifice of Tassadar, and the tireless devotion of Zeratul had brought us this epic ending.
It still makes me mourn the fact that Zeratul saved his race but sadly, like Tassadar, he made the ultimate sacrifice and never once got to see the unison.
I like how all three episodes (WoL, HotS, LotV) ends with a single shot panning towards the sky - it's "Star" Craft after all, inspiring all of us to look towards the heavens.
The cinematically of that game was its best part really. It seems they were made by a completely different team really. A team of fans that loved the StarCraft universe. Unlike the rest of the things
What I liked most (and I realized it in course of the LOTV) was the character change of how the main character is seen and sees him/herself. Raynor was an outlaw, during WoL he turned into a hero. Kerrigan was a menace, during HotS (and even more so in epilogue) she became the savior. Artanis was a leader, but at this final moment he became liberator of his people.
The stupid thing though is that raynor in Sc1 is bound to kill kerrigan, but in Sc2 he is all lovey dovey over her. It's stupid. It would have been better if he felt that way after the zera missions. Or maybe even 2 endings, like the SCU thing. If you didn't finish the zera missions, you get the bad ending (Where the terrans were consumed). If you finish them, you get the good ending (Where amon is killed)
That'd be a LOT of work, creating two separate campaigns for each faction expansion. But I agree, that'd be sick as hell. It would - without a doubt - be one of the most ambitious things i've ever seen a gaming company do. But if someone did it right... oh lord would it be good.
I keep forgetting how young Artanis is, he's basically in his early 30s in human years, yet he managed to reunite the Protoss and have a good relationship with the Terran, Taldarim and an agreement with the Zerg
Basically he's gritting his teeth so to speak. It feels like losing a huge part of yourself in a second and he's reluctant at first, but he's seen how horrible the Khala is. So he's the second to jump into the new era.

His opening speech is the one he gave on that prophecy mission on Wings of Liberty. The future has just changed quit a bit, so he's giving it under different circumstances.
4:27-The line, “En Taro,” is used by the Protoss to refer to great heroes of the past. First, there was Adun, whose sacrifice simultaneously saved Aiur from the Psionic Storms and gave the Nerazim the chance to escape from the wrath of the Conclave. Then there was Tassadar, the first to reunite their people in over a thousand years and gave his life to destroy the Overmind. Last but not least, Zeratul carved out the path for ultimate salvation and sacrificed himself to save his brother and leader from Amon’s control. However, Artanis, as of this moment, stands above even these legends by virtue of the fact that he is the first to receive such an honor while he still lives.
So essentially its not about the invasion or Golden Armanda or spear of Adun, it all about the efforts and knowledge of phaseSmith Karax who prepared the keystone to contain Amon!
1:24 I realize that Artanis says this same line in In Utter Darkness as he enters the battlefield, but the tone in this line is a much more hopeful, prideful, determined tone versus the tone that he had in the other timeline, where they are about to face their doom.
At the end of it all, they're basically humans. Like humans, they are free. Like humans, their faith sustains them. Not faith in something supernatural, but in themselves. Like humans, they learn to live with feeling alone but growing from the struggles. No matter where you go, or who you are, in the end, we all either do or we don't. Artanis said to do, and to believe. And really, what else can you do?
The fact that Zeratul somehow still alive and meet Artanis in final story (the story that explain how Kerrigan can meet Raynor in her human form after she had defeated Amon and that's was the end of the series or I think so).
I wish before the finale, there would be more cutscenes and they would draw out the reclamation of Auir. Make it really protoss v protoss and show us a wide battle of the golden armada vs the spear of adun and all the other giant unified protoss ships, led by Karax. Maybe show Alarak doing some crazy shit that shows him enjoying killing the protoss a little too much. On the surface, Artanis meets Kaldalis from those trailers, still under the influence of Amon and they fight. Artanis holds back because it's his friend, but Kaldalis almost brings him down before Phoenix (Talandar) steps in and dies saving Artanis since they were supposedly close friends. Artanis breaks the khala and is able to bring Kaldalis out of Amon's control. Maybe have a showdown of Selendis v Vorazun, but Vorazun almost dies. Selendis is about to kill her but then Amon calls everyone back because they have the keystone and are about to purge Amon from all the protoss.
I think it should have some choices like on WoL that affect the final mission. Like try to save and protect many Terran colonies will result in final mission, when Golden Armanda attack your base a Terran fleet will appeared to intercept them. Or helping some Broodmother may result in she will gain control feral zergs and aid you during defense
+D2attemp it was in response to +Mauricio Araya (MiXoX) pointing out that Selendis killed 4 on her way to Artanis and he stopped her from getting the 5'th. MOBA (League of legends) reference, when you kill all 5 players its called a Penta Kill
I loved Artanis's pre battle speech but he forgot that there's Protoss on numerous colony worlds. They couldn't have just dropped dead the second Amon corrupted the Khala........ Anyhow, seeing Selendis and the other Protoss who were corrupted sever their cords made me smile as they basically rejected Amon, his dark influence and the past that left them divided and easy prey for Amon.
What did you think of the story overall? My expectations of all three forces join together didn't happen in the main storyline (epilogue yes,) but I liked how the story focused mainly on the protoss and how the divided factions united for the final mission.
+BaritoneMufasa The story has been beat up a little by some of the popular faces around SC (Incontrol was on dropped frames and wasn't to keen on it) however I enjoyed it overall. The Protoss merge their tech/psy/religion and forcing so many to drop the Kala(sp?) had some weight to it. Losing Zer-a that early was a bit surprising to me but the remaining characters held up well enough.
BaritoneMufasa Yeah, the unite was a good idea, but that alle 3 forces have peace in the end is a bit cheesy. That they had to drop the Kala felt also a bit dramatic, that was nice. And there were interesting charakters, like Alarak oder Purifier-Fenix. So at least it was a good story in the main campaign, but the epilouge screwed it up.
Part of me really wanted Jim to return the favor and did something like at the end of SC 1 and SC BW protoss campaigns saying something like for Tassadar old buddy.

Brings many tears to my eyes knowing that the Dark Templar are FINALLY HOME. They're home after so long. They have been through so. Effing. Much. AND THEY ARE HOME!
+Gnom_Frettchen You are completely correct, but that is because the audience changed. SC1 was made for sci-fi fans who liked the tone and more a sci-fi approach. SC2 is made for 15 year, averagely intelligent gamers who care more about action and pretty graphics than the story and storytelling... Simply put, Blizzard went mainstream and became big. That's what degraded the quality of their storytelling so drastically. Ain't no more income to be had from the core fans who loved SC1.
5:44 I can't get enough of that scene. That's what it really feels like when playing Protoss. It feels like you're building a xenomorphic empire as days (or years) passes by- *Base is under attack!* AND THEN THERE'S THESE ASSHOLES!

pevigom Starcraft 2 story have up and down but if it just end with the Protoss campaign and make another campaign justified Kerrigan story in more fleshed out way, I would be fine. No, instead we have an ending that is just terrible.
It sounds super damn funny because you have Alarak there. He stands with Artanis only because doing otherwise would mean death. He surely won't ever obey Artanis if he doesn't have to.
4:30 I feel like Entaro Artanis wouldn't be very solid reason to cut my nerve cord for me. Maybe something more along the lines of, "FREE YOURSELVES!" or, "For our freedom!" Something along those lines. Like, personally, I wouldn't be thinking, "I will cut this nerve cord only for Artanis, certainly not because losing my mind is terrifying or anything. Just for you Arty (wink.)"
I think the implication is that Selendis and Artanis are totally into each other also Artanis is the Hierarch, he's effectively the leader of the protoss, so saying "En Taro Artanis" may be kinda like how Rohana said "for the Daelaam" when she cut hers
To be fair, the Khala was not a lie, it was great until It became corrupted. Cutting from it solved that, and doesn't break unity *if* you have another way of achieving it, otherwise rip... but the khala was not a lie. Great ending though.
Amazing game and an amazing story. It’s very unlikely we’ll get a StarCraft of this caliber. Thankfully both StarCraft 1 and 2 released at a time where blizzard was still the blizzard we all loved.
Urun died fighting the broodmother Niadra in the shadow war comic. Niadra was still hostile deapite the war ended was because before Kerrigan abandoned her, the last directived she received was "kill the protoss". And surprisingly she is the most cunning broodmother to be shown, exploiting human greed by having her brood hide in an abandones terran settlement with a big cache of jorium (gold mineral), waiting them to come to convert them to zerg.
3:04 Selendis did a cuadra-kill, and wanted the penta' by killing Artanis... but was shuted-down xD I know I could did it with HotS language, but I cannot play it yet.
Blizzard really needs to make a new first person shooter game like Halo style but Starcraft for Xbox and console and PC and have vehicles incorporated into combat and all the features. That is a game I would personally would be interested in playing.
I expect to see the form of Amon and some awesome cinematic in wih they fight against him but no, only dark voice and that's all oh and some ugly xel'naga. Thanks Blizzard.
I think that's precisely what makes the ending of Legacy of the Void so powerful. The saga leads you to see the Khala as sacred and worth preserving, and Legacy of the Void keeps up the ruse. The Protoss give up the "unity" they hold sacred in favor of a unity based on faith in their destiny.
SiliconDrifter No, no, I mean the ending of SCII trilogy seems a bit lacking. Maybe I'm just a bit allergic to ending games with still images and texts.
+MJk Slasher that's related to epilogue ending...I think they used it to end the SC story and set up for future content...showing Zagara as Zerg Queen and Alarick not staying in Unified Protoss, opens up possibility for DLC episodes, like with Nova. Blizzard never rushes anything, there's always a goal...I doubt there'll be a SC3 in the near future, but I can bet that in the next 2-3years, we'll get one story per year, at least.

To be fair, the Khala was not a lie, it was great until It became corrupted. Cutting from it solved that, and doesn't break unity *if* you have another way of achieving it, otherwise rip... but the khala was not a lie. Great ending though.
We are free All of this, because of you.
Wanna cry 🥺
And thus, the era of big budget RTS came to an end.
- Who created the Zerg and The Protoss?
- The Xel'Naga
- And who created the Terrans?
- God
Xel'Nagas are pretty much God in SC universe
The Dark Templars are back home again, just as was the life dream of Dark Prelate Zeratul!
i love the fact that starcraft ended and blizzard doesnt milk it like fucking warcraft ressurecting poor heroes for 20 years .
Seeing that made my nerve chord stumps hurt too :c
they tangled with and survived the warp; however, once the Imperial Armada comes to kill all Xenos, they're all boned.
Amazing game and an amazing story. It’s very unlikely we’ll get a StarCraft of this caliber. Thankfully both StarCraft 1 and 2 released at a time where blizzard was still the blizzard we all loved.
"With me now! Now with me!" - Ser Alliser Thorne
Zeratul you will be missed.
When Zeratul was always right.
ceep in mind that the nerv cords are just that. its not just fancy braded hair. thats like severing an extra spinal cord in turms of pain xD
I wanted to see Urun, Mohandar... ya know... more protoss heroes :/
Mohandar is already dead at he beginning of LoTV it appears in a comic and Urun, well they just forgot about him.
Nuuuuuuuuuu! How's that possible T-T
Kazor 132
Urun died in the recent comics. It seems time is hellbent on keeping itself in check. 3 of the six heroes from In Utter Darkness are dead
Urun died fighting the broodmother Niadra in the shadow war comic. Niadra was still hostile deapite the war ended was because before Kerrigan abandoned her, the last directived she received was "kill the protoss". And surprisingly she is the most cunning broodmother to be shown, exploiting human greed by having her brood hide in an abandones terran settlement with a big cache of jorium (gold mineral), waiting them to come to convert them to zerg.
actually my favorite character in star craft is artanis
man that speech reminds of independence day
Separation from unity is not freedom... its isolation, loneliness and fear
kinda makes me wanna play a auir city builder lol
3:04 Selendis did a cuadra-kill, and wanted the penta' by killing Artanis... but was shuted-down xD
I know I could did it with HotS language, but I cannot play it yet.
+Mauricio Araya (MiXoX) megakill, ultrakill, denied. You can play Unreal Tournament though, lol.
Blizzard really needs to make a new first person shooter game like Halo style but Starcraft for Xbox and console and PC and have vehicles incorporated into combat and all the features. That is a game I would personally would be interested in playing.
Most of the speech was token from the last protoss mission in WOL
When Zeratul died my memories of playing the game died too..
I'm watching this until I learn every word
How to make anything more epic: CHOIR
ARTANIS FOR PRESIDENT!
Anyone who agrees say I. I!!!!
I just hope that they don't go un-united again after years of progress without the khalai or if Artanis passes away
Ich weiß schon, warum ich DAS nicht zu ende gespielt habe. Unwürdiges Ende für einen Starcraft 2 Titel.
I thought the ending Cinematic was kerrigan going super Saiyan on Amon
"aff of this because of you" 😭❤️
damn love Artanis reminds me of Optimus prime ...I feel so inspired
Zeratul and Fenix would be proud
I expect to see the form of Amon and some awesome cinematic in wih they fight against him but no, only dark voice and that's all oh and some ugly xel'naga. Thanks Blizzard.
+I Dianictus You do in the epilogue.
Yeah the awful xel naga form not that what all expected
+I Dianictus The only problem that I had with it was that it was a blatant ripoff cthulhu. Apart from that I thought it looked pretty decent.
+Jazzcat135
Story of Starcraft is About Love and if you Combine it become LOVECRAFT, so it make sense, LOL
Vogel Unsterblichen It didn't used to be about love :(
but lol
"Free..." oh the chills
Selendia and Artanis are not that different in terms of height, but his hand looks absolutely huge compared to her's. Like what the hell, man?
I've read the dark templar saga before playing starcraft 2, and I really got to like the Khala. Sad to see some kind of retcon, but I'm ok.
Holy shit that was awesome and that's what you call a fucking game man
almost cried :')
also thanks for reminding me about zeratul
sob sob
you will be missed
Even Blizzard rushed their games...Where are we headed now, people?
Overwatch
+MJk Slasher Rushed? like 16 + fucking years to end
Blizzard never rushes anything, there's always a goal...I doubt there'll be a SC3 in the near future, but I can bet that in the next 2-3years, we'll get one story per year, at least.
rushing is natural of blizzard. namely, zerg
