This is literally how i was able to overcome cigarettes, substances and alcohol addiction. Nothing other than prayer and mindset

@@tea2450 …just keep trying! I know exactly how you feel. I am literally in the process now! I am on day 6! I’m still having a little bit of cravings and thoughts about how I want to go have a smoke after I eat. We can do this!! Never give up trying!! It will happen! And just talk to god about it.

@Tea Hello Friend, You may not know this, Speaking "it's hard." Is speaking a word curse over yourself. Don't try to figure it out. That's what God is for. Stay with him in this present moment, right here, right now. Don't dwell on past mistakes or venture into the future. That will only cause worry/ fear. Stay with God, each moment, every moment, daily. He will unfold your freedom! Just simply have faith, want it & you're already more than halfway there! God will do the rest! I'm positive of it! For many years I suffered from eating addictions.
I started to thank God for healing me for all my food addictions. I started to also say out loud, “Everything I eat and drinks brings me good health and beauty.” I did this over and over again. One day it materialized. Today I am totally healed from all my food addictions. I am the healthiest I have ever been. God is good. God is the great physician. Since He can heal me, He can anyone from anything. Believe and receive. God bless you.

I’m struggling with weed addiction ode… but I know the Lord Jesus took it all on the cross pray for me my brothers and sisters in Christ ❤️
I love Joyce, even though I cant do all the things Christians are supposed to do. I truly believe we need to make statements which align with Gods truths. I watched my mom and older sister in obesity, and declared as a young girl: I am not a slave to food because God did not put us here to be slaves! It really helps to say that!

I did pray and God led me to this: I would think about buying ice cream but when I went to buy it, I would only spend a few minutes looking at it and then get a nice yogurt instead. Many times our bodies are craving certain nutrients (I think calcium in this case) and I found once I ate the yogurt my craving for ice cream was gone and I felt just as satisfied. Another example, soda - unsweetened tea (with stevia, etc.) Anyway, that's what works for me. And, I still have the original thing I craved occasionally. : )

Good Morning Joyce Dave her family the Joyce Meyer Team everyone reading this and God Bless everyone reading this including Joyce Dave her family and the Joyce Meyer Team ! I dont have any real big addictions to worry about except I do have aniexty and stress but not nearly as bad as I now live in a much nicer place with much nicer people ! I can go down and talk to people now where as at the trailer park all I had was myself and the kitty ! Pretty much the first of the pandemic was spent at the trailer all alone with no one to talk to but then back then it was alot worse back then going around alot more than now days !

That's the thing a sinful addiction is no joke... Whether it's pornography or drugs what power those things have without the word of God and Gods spirit in you're life you stand little chance.

Hey Guys, Hope you are doing well. After going through many books and reading i came on few conclusions which might help you .
1. Thinking about avoiding temptation is still thinking about the temptation.( Instead try focusing on things which you really want to do from core of your heart for eg your hobbies)
2. Saying no makes you feel deprived, remind your self you are not being deprived of anything (Try focusing on family , friends, relationship and things that are real ) engage your self.
3. Even when we resolve to give up something we still retain the notion that it is enjoyable ( ASK YOURSELF: Is this actually enjoyable as it seems? or even if it is enjoyable is it worth the attention? ) we need an higher taste or an experience of higher experience.
4.The best protection is not just keeping the devil afar but keeping close the opposite of the devil, the supreme divinity.
5.Fighting urges is like a boxing match. If we survive the round we survive the match. Similarly our urges are temporary. Thinking that they will keep growing forever , we give up.
6. Just as a house can be protected from thieves by closing all the windows and doors properly similarly our thinking can be protected by closing our senses(eyes, nose, ears, touch and taste) or staying away from objects that are addicting
7. Seek the association ( Friends, family, relationships )that warns about our urges and not warms us to our urges.
8. More than avoiding temptations try to remind yourself the purpose ( why you don't want the this temptations and addictions in your life.)
9. Our mind always thinks about 3 things while avoiding temptations ( past, present and future) and thus fails our intentions.
Past- Mind reminds us that we were never been able to control this temptations in the past so how can we do it now
future- We will never be able to do it in future because this temptations are so powerful and so lets do it now.
Present- This is something we should really focus on because this is really what matters. If we control them today definitely it will give us confidence and knowledge to not do it in future.
and thus don't feel guilty about our past if we are improving our present and future because even 1% progress is still counted as progress and you have overcome your temptations by 1%
