Man. This video is so timely!!! My Filipino mother passed away this weekend from Covid suddenly and this just reminds me of the Filipino food life. Thank you guys for representing the food and helping me remember just how great she fed men!
Benson is always making me proud to eat pinoy food. This is how u promote Filipino cuisine. You know what to say and u know stories behind the food ure talking about... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
i love sinigang, kare kare, sisig, sago gulaman, everything with ube, cassava…and ah i love filipino food 😋 😂 thanks for showing new filipino resto in NYC, something to look forward to when travel is not so hassle with all the rules- love from a filipina watching from Norway
I am very proud that I once worked with my mentor and friend Chef Aris. I've learned a lot from him that even if you have talent but you dont have the passion on cooking it wont work at all. Congrats Chef Aris!
bruh that halo-halo "rice bowl" is the halo-halo of my dreams, and that man did you well by giving you the corner slice of the cassava that's the best part
The cassava cake, Kare kare and Halo halo looked absolutely to die for! Thank you for making this amazing video on some of the newer Filipino spots in Manhattan! Learned so much and want to try so much! 🤩
Thank you for showcasing Filipino food. A lot of times we describe our food in terms more understandable to other cultures. I love that Ryan Benson is representing the motherland well. I hope you have more videos with Ryan.
thanks you for sharing , good to see Ryan back , we need some more modern Filipino places here in Cali , being of Filipino decent , this was a tutorial on my own food , thanks Ryan
If I may make a correction, what they referred as "Biko" is actually "Ubeng Malagkit"; though having the same base of sticky rice , "Biko" is usually made with coconut milk and muscovado sugar which gives its distinct brown color while "ubeng malagkit" is made by combining "ubeng halaya" (purple yam jam) made with either condense milk or coconut milk topped with coconut curd (latik) or cheese. Also most Filipino rice cakes are paired with a choice of strong coffee or "salabat"(ginger tea) to cut the richness of the usual coconut fat included and aid in digestion.
Ooh that isaw and vinegar comboooo. I always sip the vinegar (also soy sauce if that's the partner of the food and love that bit of burning feeling it gives on your lips.
Awe man great video! Was wondering when you guys were gonna do my people's (Filipino) food again. All the dishes looked delicious! Glad you guys enjoyed it! xoxo stay safe!
I’ll be honest, not a whole lot of twist. Every food featured kept its genuine pinoy take, still very authentic which to me is a good thing. Great food and thank you again for featuring the culture in your vid.
Always great seeing your newer videos.😃💥🔥Was I in the middle of something??? Yes yes I was, did I stop what I was doing to watch this?? Yes I most certainly did. Definitely dont regret it, what a great video😃🔥💥
Awesome video! After a very slow rise, it's inspiring to see how Filipino food is now getting more mainstream. Would love to try out the bone marrow sinigang -- very interesting! Also glad the video didn't feature the common adobo. 👍🏽
The bone marrow sinigang definitely killed it. You got the fat from the marrow then the acid from the soup. That was some legendary balance AIO meal 🖖🖖🖖
Shout out to the Fung bros who have always championed the Asian culture and is now one of the key players in bringing Filipino food into the mainstream.
Fung Bros…. I have to admit you guys are the number asian social media channel. Informative and very insightful. Btw I did not see LECHON which is the national Philippine food.
My grandmother would roast, sticky rice and peanuts and grind that by hand in a mortar and pestle for her kare kare.... no peanut butter... and also for color the atchuete. YUMMY. I haven't had that in a long while. I miss it. And the finer the grind the smoother the sauce.
Its great when your with your loveones and having a conversation while having a meal . 👍🏾 bone marrow hehehe ❤️ 👍🏾 I like watching how diverse asian cuisines from vegetables to meat and fish... 👍🏾 * I will add up with our traditional bracelet 👍🏾
I love leche flan and sinigang and kare kare. There are different types of sinigang that you could also try, i really love the sinigang sa miso that we use salmon, there’s also sinigang sa bayabas(guava) i love it with pork, pork sinigang. That’s so yummy
Hi! I just found your video/channel while looking for filipino cooking recipes- I love this video!! Love the funny intro and also the first dish showed was my favorite -sinigang! ❤❤❤😀 I just liked and subscribed to your channel! I like everyones energy and vibe and looks like you all are having fun enjoying yourselves! Introvert mom of 4 sons (2 autistic) enjoying the youtube community. Dog therapy music to save pups/humans lives. God Bless!
Now I’m curious to check these restaurants on their modern take to traditional Filipino food. Mama Fina’s: The squid sisig looks delicious and I will definitely try it because squid is one of my favorite seafoods and then prepared as sisig! Tsismis: I’m having a heart attack just by looking at the bone marrow singang 😝🤪but after seeing Ryan, David and Andrew genuinely enjoying their meals, I’m checking it out for sure. Kabisera: I’m down simply when Ryan said they have the Best Halo-halo.
100 percent agree on Andrew’s commentary regarding 50/50. The Filipino restaurants that have flourished here are mostly traditional.Did Ryan say FOBs??? I hope he didn’t it mean it in a derogatory way
You guys are too cute especially when you said dinakdakan. My dad is ilocano and we have that at our parties. Definitely need to try the food u mentioned when visiting nyc. Thanks!
Tsismis knows its pork woah. Bone Marrow Sinigang, Spare Ribs Kare-Kare and Sisig style Dinakdakan is a very modern take. Very nice choice of meats. 👏👏👏
Man. This video is so timely!!!

Ryan Benson really knows the hood and the food!
the spanish word chisme means gossip and is said very much like the filipino way
Word literally origin from that same Spanish word
Thank you for showcasing Filipino food. A lot of times we describe our food in terms more understandable to other cultures. I love that Ryan Benson is representing the motherland well. I hope you have more videos with Ryan.

The way you guys presented the food was amazing. The Filipino food looks so good ! My dream is to make Filipino food more main stream here in Japan :)
I’ll be honest, not a whole lot of twist. Every food featured kept its genuine pinoy take, still very authentic which to me is a good thing. Great food and thank you again for featuring the culture in your vid.
Authentic is the last word you can use to accurate describe Filipino food even in Manila.
@fung bros salamat for highlighting and promoting filipino foods.
Ryan you are one of the best host the Fung bros have on 🍀
🇵🇭🤗🇮🇪
Missed you, Benson!! 😭
Love the video! Great job FungBros!
Mad respect for the Fil-Am bro knownin his Fil culture, just better accents and name pronunciations will help introduce the culture more faithfully.

the 12:49 peace sign guy gotta be included in the future he seem chill too
Cassava cake is very traditional in the North and North East of Brazil what a nice similarity, I'm starving with this video, I love Asian cuisine.
Filipino food is ❤️🔥
The name of the restaurant is hilarious because in Spanish, chisme' means "one of gossips/big mouth."
It's actually derived from Spanish. In The Philippines, people who gossip a lot are called chismosa/chismoso (tismosa/tsismoso). Chismis means gossip.
I went there a few months ago when i visited new york city, the restaurant was so bomb
Oh that "binegar" dip is everything! 🤭
I love this review. Much respect here! 😎💪
Everything looks delicious! 👍😋😊
Tsismis knows its pork woah. Bone Marrow Sinigang, Spare Ribs Kare-Kare and Sisig style Dinakdakan is a very modern take. Very nice choice of meats. 👏👏👏
i really like your food reviews.
Have you guys eaten Caldereta, Humba, Asado etc the more with Spanish influence, very non-Asian pinoy food??
I love you Ryan.♥️♥️♥️
