Wow...I literally can't believe I'm saying this but it goddamn worked! I spilled half a pint of rum and coke on my laptop. Shit was everywhere so I took everything apart, cleaned with isopropyl alcohol (100%) and kept getting the black screen problem. Followed this tutorial and used a hairdryer for 10 mins instead of his heat gun at half an inch away from the GPU. Honestly wasn't expecting anything, but it booted up first time! Literally gobsmacked! Getting lower CPU+GPU temps as well because of the thermal paste reapplication. Cheers mate!
Are you sure it's not 380° F instead of 380°C? 380°C equals 716°F and solder melts at about 400°F. Also, I'd pull the CMOS battery BEFORE I placed any aluminum foil on the board.
Thanks for the guide. I bought an HP dv7 because I thought the screen was huge and the fingerprint scanner was neat. I didn't know much back then. Turns out I missed a recall by about 4 years (which they did not actually notify anyone, they just posted it on their website and I didn't check it every day), turns out they have a very bad overheat problem. It is partly my fault because I let it overhead often. so come yesterday my laptop is stuck with a blank screen. I did your ram guide and they work, so it must be this. Instead of fixing it I'm gonna gut my laptop and sell the parts and try to get a decent pc. If anyone is looking for HP ram or a screen with a webcam, hit me up.
William, Thanks for the detail on this - much better than other discussions on the topic. Can you tell me the soldering station brand and name/description of the tip you used on the iron?
I didn't make the video but if you reflow successfully I would say it might only last a month to a year (if your lucky) if you do not also clean the fan and reapply any heat paste or whatever else because it may overheat again and I have had success with reflows but it only has ever lasted if it stays cool afterwards.
Hello William! I did everything as you and my laptop turned on but just for the first time! After that, black screen again.Do you have some advice for me?I did everything just as you did, except I used hair dryer.
Hi Mr Yu great work i wonder if this not starting issue can be also created by the starting chip ene because i reflow a graphic chip before and still do not work then i change the ene starting chip and vuala working fine so another tip your video is real good i hope you still in the business
Thanks for the video. Beforehand, I watched your previous video, I had used an VGA cable and attached it to a monitor. The information displayed onto the monitor's screen. However, I took it a repairs store and was told my motherboard is dead. I have some information I want to get off my RAM. How am I able to read the RAM without a motherboard? Is that possible? Or do I need a motherboard to read the RAM. Plus it is a DELL Laptop. Any advice on how to go and do that?
Hi william, I have the black screen problem, I saw your first video, but quite honestly my case is a different one, because my computer boots just fine, and if I plug an external screen I can use the laptop perfectly.. but I know the laptop display is fine, I mean, it's not damaged like the one you showed on the video, actually I got this problem after the computer hibernated it self due to overheating (a safety measure that my laptop do all the time to prevent real damage), so after a while I reboot the laptop and it worked fine, but after an hour of using it, I felt the computer was slow, specially chrome, so I decided to reboot the system again, but once I did it, the lap started having this problem.. at one point trying to fix this problem I removed the ram and did the drain power technique and it worked, so I turned it off to reassemble the computer, but when I tried to turn it on once more, I got same problem all over again.. so right now I can use the laptop on a different screen, but my screen just won't start.. I have a theory that it might has detached from the motherboard, but not sure. any suggestions? thanks!
Even I'm having this problem. No issue with the display. When I turn on the laptop, cooling fan, CR ROM & everything works fine except the display. Sometimes the display turns ON and sometimes not. It works fine with an external screen. Any help here William?
no it doesn't, I would know.. one day it turned on again once and I could move the laptop close it open it and it was fine.. but once I turned it off and turned it back on i only had black screen again.. so.. it's a bigger problem.. ideas?
zidanesg1 Model? Have you overheated often? Could be something within the screen panel itself, however to me, considering what you described (heat/shutdown), this issue is still consistant with GPU related fault, as the output from the video chip itself is routed differently to the video output in at least some video chips, i.e - there could be a perfectly functioning display circuit to your laptops video output, but a broken or detereorated signal to your laptops display. It is complex to explain, but essentially, a graphics faliure may manifest itself in MANY! forms. Try using the laptop in a darkened room if the lcd is powering on at all. Or shine a bright light on the screen to check it was not your LCD backlight failed (this does not indicate solely a backlight failure and I doubt it is that because it suddenly failed). There should be a least some form of life from your screen even a clear turning on black. The symptoms and events preceeding them are consistant with degradation of your graphics flip chip, there is no 1 definite failure symptom unlike what many people claim. I have seen anything from corrupt/glitching screen, blank screen, colour screen, rainbow screen, all kinds of artifacts flashing or constant, black/dark screen output, extremely low output from screen which can also be backlight issue as before mentioned (shine a bright light to check this is not the issue), blinking or constant lines, even blurring/blocky or garbled colours displaying on screen. All due to deterioration or onboard graphics chips. Particularly, but not exclusively if your laptops manufacture date falls in the chronic problematic RoHS era of these chips (think nVidia/HP) somwhere around 2006-2008 and possibly later I believe upto 2010 or even newer in some cases still suffer this fate. Lastly, it could POSSIBLY be a system BIOS issue that could be checked and/or rectified via your display output, by pressing appropriate key/s on startup. Just some ideas... I'd say invariably the ultimate solution, (if you are planning on keeping the laptop) is to have a new decent era (2010>) graphics chip installed, by a competent technician. Or replace motherboard with a known decent/new unit. If you were overheating and from the problematic era, it is almost definately GPU. And even if not, I strongly suspect it still is the cause. If you do repair or have repaired the issue, revise your cooling, be sure to not overheat - you say it 'shuts off to prevent any real damage' - seriously - if a system is repetatively 'shutting off to prevent any real damage', the 'real damage' could be already occuring, or be done. It is a last ditch effort if you rely on your system board shutting off due to temperature, not an everyday function of any laptop or designed to occur regularly. "(a safety measure that my laptop do all the time to prevent real damage)" wrong. It is doing real damage, not preventing it. Clean dust/dirt/grime from fan and vents and check your fan is decent (no broken pins or noisy functioning which can indicate failure and result in lower efficiency and your familiar temp related shut offs. My money is on GPU. And seriously. In this order. New laptop. New board. Replace the GPU chip with a new chip. Don't bother the joke that is labelled 'reflowing' a GPU, as it is laughable, done by hoards of morons that misunderstand the actual concept of the failure and enjoy kidding themselves.
hey william. thanks for vid. watched part 1 and 2. did the ram tests, both do not work. how much would a reflow cost?? how much do you charge? just a ballpark. thanks!
Hi Mr.Yu I just tried this, I heated up the chip with my hairdryer and Im not totally sure if its heated up enough because I can't really smell anything burning due to the heat coming from the hairdryer , it tends to have a smell on its on. But if i was to put my laptop back together would it still work even tho i didnt apply any thermal paste on the gpu? Is the paste really important and necessary?Or like once the chip cooled off do you have to immediately apply the thermal glue?
Hi I watched your first video and went thru the process of trying the memory cards several different ways. Nothing seemed to be working so I tried each card in a different laptop I had lying around. I came to the conclusion that 1 of the cards was bad as it did not work in the other laptop. So i out the two good cards that I had in the computer I couldn't get started... and still no luck. What else can I try before gutting the computer and risking damaging it further? Thanks!
Hi william i want to ask that suppose that one desktop computer (CPU unit) has a graphic card and same problem occurs in it (i mean CPU starts but screen remain black ) so now that CPU has actually two ports where we can connect the monitor(one is in mother board and second one is in graphic card) then Tell me that if we plug the monitor cable in CPU (motherboard port) instead of graphic card port does the malfunctioned graphic card will affect in that Case and will computer starts.
I tried everything in the first video but those steps didn't work and now I wanted to follow this one. I got my laptop apart (Samsung RV720) but I don't think I have a GPU. Is that possible? Is there something else I should heat, or won't this fix work for me when I don't have a GPU? I see the CPU (under the 4 screws with numbers 1-4) like in this movie and removed it, but a little down, you have the GPU. I see square where a GPU could be, but the space is empty on my motherboard. What should I do now or is my laptop lost? Thanks in advance for any reply!
Hey 380 degrees Celsius is over 700 degrees Fahrenheit which would melt that whole board. You got your Celsius Fahrenheit mixed up. The most you want to heat that is about 300 degrees Fahrenheit but most do 200 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit in the oven for 20 minutes to reflow.
I watched your video "how to fix a black screen" part 2 very interesting and helpful. However, my black screen problem is with one of the RAM slots not functioning. I can get the screen to work by only using one slot. In order to fix this problem, do I need to replace the motherboard entirely? Thankis
There are tricks to fix the ram slot, it's usually not the ram slot itself broken, it's usually something else like south bridge. It's pretty tough and I would just recommend to use bigger ram or get a new mobo.
all depends on how well the job was done. Remember, this is a temporary fix. If you can get rid of that laptop (ex. sell it), go ahead. But if the job was well done, this quick fix can make the laptop last years and years. Make sure to keep the temp down from now on.
Hi friend could you please tell me what is the liquid that you used? i couldnt understand, I am sorry I dont speak english although I could understand most of the video but not the name of the liquid
I have a diferent problem can you help? On my case i can only startup my laptop with the lid 30% open, then when it boots up i can use it normaly even open the lid 100% But if i i try to start up my laptop with the dysplay fully open it will not appear anything on the dysplay. You know what this might be?
Hello. First, thank you for your videos. Second, my computer power on (just the power led that brights up), but the fan doesn't start and the HDD neither. I tested different things (ram, etc), but it is the same. Any idea? Thank you.
Hi, I have a HP Compaq laptop Computer and I've tried everything in the first video, and nothing has changed for the black screen remain black, I switched around the ram boards many ways and left one out and tried that many ways and same with the other ect... could it be possible that both ram boards are bad or how can you tell or how can you tell if both ram slots are bad?
Hi william, my laptop compaq presario v3000 had black screen but run normally. I know it bcz i use torchlight n see it progressing normally. I try to connect to external monitor but it doesnt show up. Alrwady push d button fn+f4. So what d problem?
William Yu Could you msg me the info to where i could ship a laptop for repair to you? I'd also like to know how much it would cost. I don't know how to mess with laptops and really don't want to practice on this one i'm having issues on. Basically the same thing as your vids, has a black screen but turns on, though doesn't work on an external monitor so i assume its the graphics card
Hi mate I have an Acer aspire 5750G when I turn it on it comes on for a few seconds then turns back off. When this happens the screen stays blank and the fan doesn't spin. I tried the ram fix from your other vid but nothing happened. Guessing it's the hard drive or motherboard. Would this happen if the hard drive has been damaged? Thanks in advance
Hi friend.....i have a hp g62 and same problem. When i press start button screen is black and it didnt work....cpu fan start and after few second stop but light on button continue with working. When i press power button again my lap top isnt shut down...it restart only....what i need to do.....i follow your instruction in first clip about this and i didnt pass this problem...should i do everything like you in this clip? And i have one more question.....how long i need to heat with hairdryer.....? Thanks :)
A hair dryer will never reach 100 degrees or 380 degrees. I'm not sure it would even reach till u smell the iron melting. What would be the option then?
hello sir,my laptop is toshiba satellite L510,the problem is ,the laptop got the power indicator light up,and try to turn on nothing happened, and the fan are not spinning and seem likely the hdd are not reading or may i say spinnin(reading),so do you think its the gpu, already tried all in part 1,no luck,i hope you can reply me soon sir!thanks again for the help, thank you!
Thanks man I wish I watched your video before.. cuz that problem happened to my laptop and the dude who fixed it did the same you did but didn't put that grey thing.. so I have this problem again :) thanks
Hey i have the exact same laptop as in this video your screen fix did help but also i was wandering if theres a way to refresh the battery it used to work then my charger shorted out i got a new charger computer works fine but not the battery the charge light flashes if that helps please reply thanks
I have 2 problems with my laptop, first i have "nvidia has stopped working blah blah blah" problem. I tried every method on the internet and no such luck so far, and i just accept it and just use my CPU graphic. Now, my second problem my laptop has gone black screen after turn it on. I haven't try the method from your first video, AND will try it later and hope it will work. But i want to ask this, IF i try heating it up my GPU, do you think my nvidia will work again?? Pls answer this, give me hope our something, i really want to play good game, lol
I've tried everything from the first video and I also used a blow dryer with the instructions in this tutorial, but my screen is still black. Do you have any other suggestions???
Hi, I changed thermal paste (5 years old paste) on my laptop and since there doesn't work! I have black screen, fan work, cd rom work, I tried to connect to other screen, doesn't help, Change position od RAM and then do not want even start fans...so I go back on original ram slot state, again I got black screen. I do not scratch anything or forget to connect. I have photo of every step. Maybe I mess up..I cleaned with screwdriver very gently paste around cpu and gpu but over silicone aside of chip.
My Compaq CQ61 has a blank screen... I have done everything you suggested and even replaced the motherboard... still blank. It does turn on, fan runs, cap and num lock lights flash, yet nothing on the screen. (AMD single core processor) Ideas?
Please help! Do magnetized screws interfere with laptops? I was having trouble with the fans' screws because they were too small and would fall off into the open gates. So, I found a really big magnet and decided to rub both the screwdriver and some screws to make it easier for me. I thought the screws would loose magnet force but when I opened the laptop again after using it for two days the screws had even more magnetic force! The reason I opened the laptop again was because after trying to install the same Ubuntu distro flavor on my secondary hard drive it somehow made it go black screen.
Hi. My laptop (Toshiba Satellite l305d ) turns on, and windows initiates correctly, and everything goes well until I install the graphic card driver (ATi Radeon 3100), then, after a VARIABLE PERIOD OF TIME, the screen goes black, and the HDD stops working, and I have to switch the computer off. Same thing happens with an external monitor. The cooling system is free of dust, and the thermal paste has been changed very recently. Sometimes the screen goes white, instead of black. I would appreciate your help, before throwing this piece of crap out of the window of my 11º floor. Thanks!
My laptop is black screen but works with external monitor. I tested laptop's display placing light in front of it, and nothing appears on screen. And there is not any light i can see. Maybe is the whole display burnt?
OK so i installed a new driver for my GPU, after this my screen has acted weird, it doesnt turn on, sometimes i could close the lid and re open it would come right on but now its not coming on at all, i plug in my hdmi cable and look in device manager, theres no display detected. Could it be the lvds cable connecting my lcd to the mother or should i try something else? And are there any other things i could do to fix it?
I just tried this twice (I used a hair dryer and I think I was too easy on the gpu the first time). Laptop is still having the same issue. Does that mean it's my motherboard? My computer is doing the same thing this one is doing, it "turns on" but absolutely nothing on the screen.
hi i'm having a dell studio 1458.i tried all the things except the reflow.once i solved this issue by simply removing the ram and refixing it.the laptop suddenly started working without any problem. But two days later again its showing the black screen.can u help me out in this case
when i updated my hp display driver from normal to HD300 .The display goes off when it uses the battery and when it is plugged in, it comes back on. when i decided to downgrade it because it was doing this problem the display started turning black and only comes up if i close the laptop and open it. pls help
hello, i have a problem, my hp dv6 wont start up, when i connect de ac cable or plug the battery, the screen immediately turns whithe but the fan is not working, Just keep on the White screen, i tap the power buttom and nothing happens
My laptop is an asus x55a, It won't boot it just shows black screen with lights and spinning fan ect.. But when I try to power it off I have to remove the battery and nothing I have tried everything apart from the reflow because I'm pretty sure this isn't the case, any other ideas?

Hi I have a problem with my laptop it comes on but you only see the back light and the light comes on the cap lock button if I push it, but the back light for the keyboard don't come on I don't see the mouse cursor or anything. I don't hear the fan or anything, I see the power light can anyone help me.
I have an Asus G75VW I bought in 2012. The screen is dead black. The lights turn on, but I can't tell if it's still booting up or not. It doesn't seem to sound like it is. It's the rear ventilated model, so I can't imagine that it was an overheating issue for the GPU, especially since it wasn't doing anything strenuous the night it failed. I was in a well A/C'd room in Panama and it was doing updates. I wake up in the morning and the screen is black. I've tried everything other than resoldering the GPU and removing the RAM. It's the gaming model so it has two extra RAM slots that aren't easily accessible.
while i turn on my pc it says that "One of your file is needed to be checked for consistency ...so your file is changed from C: to ntfs...so it is recommended to be checked to skip press any key" but i'll press any key randomly only then it will start...please kindly help me in getting rid of this problem
hi mate i spoke to you about my e machine 625 having black screen i tried everything but came up with nothing so i decided to get a new board which i hooked up and got it going for about 10 minutes and guess wat it did the same thing and went out doing the exact thing as before just cant work it out ant ideas
Hello. When I turn on my laptop (sony vaio VPCCW17FX) its not completely black. It will show the 'vaio' start up then it will stop and screen is blank. It feels like it needs a push to continue the start. The first 2 times it happened I manage to help it (?). I did ctrl+C as fast as I could and screen shows up to the pick Windows 7. And it work perfectly. Then the 2nd time it happened I did ctrl+x as fast and as many as I cpuld and it workd again. But now, nothing seems to work. Please help!! Im so desperate!
My Fujitsu laptop fell on the floor face down and hyperextended the screen. The computer is working since I have connected to a monitor and all is fine. My screen is blank with a slight blue tint. When I start up the computer the screen will flash up some rreadable material quickly goes blank again. Any suggestions?
I am going to same process on my toshiba laptop when i give to repair center they tell me that its motherboard was damaged if they were telling me like this can i do this same process on my laptop does it work.if it works i will buy and give you anything from an shopping site.please help me
Hello. my hp laptop wont boot. Turn it on then 2 seconds later, it shuts down, Doesn't make any beeps, already replaced the thermal compound. any ideas thanks.
i already did it, and there is power when i press the power button, but still its blank, i'll try checking the memory and it seems okay, and i plug to it monitor and it seems there another problem with my notebook, and i noticed that when i hit the power button, the fan works then suddenly stops. i need answer from you dude, thanks.
How does the reflow work for integrated GPU's such as Intel HD Graphics on recent Gen Core i5i/i7 boards etc, can it still be done when it's part of the CPU?
No those are tricky. Feflowing CPU won't do anything. Reflowing the entire motherboard in an oven or something might do the trick. Or just buy a new motherboard.
So I got a screen issue on my older laptop, screen will turn on maybe in 1 of 30 times and if i try to close it or restart it it wont turn on anymore, graphics card seems to be working fine, laptop works perfect expect for built in screen when connected to external monitor.
I suddenly turned my laptop off by unplugging the adapter from it. And then I turned it on. When the screen showed the logo in my case Toshiba I suddenly turned it off same way. Battery was not in it. Now when I turn it on the black screen. Could it Bre that something is fryer because I unplug it while it was booting? What's the problem the fix ?
Hi! I have the Packard Bell SJ51. I tried everything except this reflow part. When I turn it on, I can hear the fan and everything but it just show a black screen. Idk what to do... Pls Help. :(
I just did it. Then it says something I forgot what it said, but I resolved it by blowing the HDD. I only have one problem, sometimes purple lines appears then I need to shut down the laptop because it hangs, idk why.
My laptop is not working.. i just don't know if my laptop is already broken or what? Coz every time i turn it on?, the screen is black... and but the power light is working when i turn it on and off.. pls help..
Well My problem over here is somewhat related to ur problem,so I think u might have an idea hw to deal with it.I have a Nvidia GT610 Graphics Card. When we start the pc they show that HP or Dell or Acer or wateva company it is...yeh at this point it takes 2-3 mins for my PC to load and proceed only whn i have this Nvidia inside my CPU and after 3-5 week it takes Longer and Longer time to proceed or smtimes wont proceed tooo...But then when i took it out it just took 3-7 seconds to load and proceed...and then whn i put my nvidia back again it takes again 2-3 minutes to proceed....So Is There anyway to make this loading process faster? [Also,For Nvidia GT 610 2GB with i7 processor It just requires 300W Power supply(Its mentioned like that at the back of the box),while I have an 600W Power Supply...So I think it aint a problem with the power supply] [Also It aint a problem with the drivers too i tried upgrading and downgrading too]....Hope u knw how to fix this Isuue and thanks for reading :)
Hello sir I got Lenovo u410 I also got black screen some time its start but some time it won't start fan is also OK but from some days my laptop doesn't show display what's that problem please suggest me regarding that
William Yu, I believe I have a completely different issue from both videos. My laptop turns on and I hear it working, but the monitor is not, even with an external display. Sometimes, I open and close the lid and in some spots the screen will turn on. From what I read in google, it's probably some sensor, cable or part of the hinge that detects when the lid is open, but I'm not sure where it is. please help!
I am going to do what you have shown in yhis video i am so afraid that i can replace my laptops parts in place 'device is toshiba laptop it is having same problem when i have given for repair they where telling me that it is having a dead motherboard but still power light burns.can i do this does it works if it works i will buy and give you anything you want from any shopping app. Sure'
My computer doesn't turn on at all. There's no noise no light light at all. It's fully charged. I checked the rams like you did in the other video. I also unplugged it & took the battery out and held the power button & nothing happened.
I recently commented on seeing a Reflow demonstration, this is actually what I needed to see. Thank you again Mr. Wu.
Thanks so much for filming yourself reflowing the graphics chip. Worked like a charm with a good hairdryer used for 8 minutes!

William,
Thanks for the detail on this - much better than other discussions on the topic. Can you tell me the soldering station brand and name/description of the tip you used on the iron?
Hi,I have the same laptop as used in this video, does the heat gun you use need to be a specific temperature?
Hello, great vid...just wondering if you know how long your 'reflow' repair lasted??? Thanks for the vid, though.
After that, black screen again.Do you have some advice for me?I did everything just as you did, except I used hair dryer.

have you found a solution Karthik Pongiannan ?
Karthik Pongiannan That could be a bad connection, when you move the screen goes off when was on or turns on when was off?
no it doesn't, I would know.. one day it turned on again once and I could move the laptop close it open it and it was fine.. but once I turned it off and turned it back on i only had black screen again.. so.. it's a bigger problem.. ideas?

A Great video but is it worth doing for a 3 year old $350 computer. Alternatively just replace the mother board?
hey william. thanks for vid. watched part 1 and 2. did the ram tests, both do not work. how much would a reflow cost?? how much do you charge? just a ballpark. thanks!
It really depends on which shop you visit. I would say 80 least 250 max.
Is the paste really important and necessary?Or like once the chip cooled off do you have to immediately apply the thermal glue?
what is that machine you used to heat up the gpu called? I have a couple of Asus C90s's with bad GPUs will this method work on them?
Hey, I am trying to fix up a Gateway w323-ui1. Where is the GPU. Itried stuff from your last vid and it didn't work.
Thank you for the tutorial. This solved my problem after trying everything else. What are the chances of this to happen again?
all depends on how well the job was done.
On my case i can only startup my laptop with the lid 30% open, then when it boots up i can use it normaly even open the lid 100%
But if i i try to start up my laptop with the dysplay fully open it will not appear anything on the dysplay.
You know what this might be?
what is the Acer5734Z inverter boards out put voltage at the red and whit wires going to the screen?
Isnt there an issue with the penny as it is not made of copper, only coated with copper?
Hello. First, thank you for your videos.
Second, my computer power on (just the power led that brights up), but the fan doesn't start and the HDD neither. I tested different things (ram, etc), but it is the same. Any idea?
Thank you.
Does the penny have to be pre-81. Or just copper coated like now.
I have the same problem, as you showed in this video. but my friend an one guy said the issue is in the entire motherboard, any advice?
It worked! Thanks for the video. I hope this fix will work for a long time
Hi, I have a HP Compaq laptop Computer and I've tried everything in the first video, and nothing has changed for the black screen remain black, I switched around the ram boards many ways and left one out and tried that many ways and same with the other ect... could it be possible that both ram boards are bad or how can you tell or how can you tell if both ram slots are bad?
Hi william, my laptop compaq presario v3000 had black screen but run normally. I know it bcz i use torchlight n see it progressing normally. I try to connect to external monitor but it doesnt show up. Alrwady push d button fn+f4. So what d problem?
Do you offer laptop repairs or something? I'd rather hand it to someone who has the tools lol. Very information video though (and part 1).
I do, if you want you can ship it to me and I can get it fixed.
William Yu do you still take shipped orders??
Kevin Hyun yeah anytime!
Jakyocaw You can add me on skype yu689595
Thanks :)
This solved my issue. Thank you so much! I've tried everything else.
Thank you for the great video. I got my laptop working now using a hair dryer. Happy holidays ☺
A hair dryer will never reach 100 degrees or 380 degrees. I'm not sure it would even reach till u smell the iron melting. What would be the option then?
hello sir,my laptop is toshiba satellite L510,the problem is ,the laptop got the power indicator light up,and try to turn on nothing happened, and the fan are not spinning and seem likely the hdd are not reading or may i say spinnin(reading),so do you think its the gpu, already tried all in part 1,no luck,i hope you can reply me soon sir!thanks again for the help, thank you!

hi. How do I determine, that my RAM is /is not working? should I do reflow anyway? thanks
How much does it cost to pay someone to do this?
I have 2 problems with my laptop, first i have "nvidia has stopped working blah blah blah" problem. I tried every method on the internet and no such luck so far, and i just accept it and just use my CPU graphic. Now, my second problem my laptop has gone black screen after turn it on. I haven't try the method from your first video, AND will try it later and hope it will work. But i want to ask this, IF i try heating it up my GPU, do you think my nvidia will work again??
Pls answer this, give me hope our something, i really want to play good game, lol
William Thanks for this video keep it up i am following your video tutorials...thanks man
Is it possible to fix the RAM Slot?, I can't fix my Toshia NB 200.. The RAM is ok but I think that the Slot have something.
I've tried everything from the first video and I also used a blow dryer with the instructions in this tutorial, but my screen is still black. Do you have any other suggestions???
Hi William,
could you tell me how long do i put the fire (i mean like you) on the chip set?
+Aztrax Xeno Nope, they do NOT interfere.
you have to put a strong neodymium magnet on the hdd before any serious stuff happens :-)
My computer is doing the same thing this one is doing, it "turns on" but absolutely nothing on the screen.
only the power LED is turning on, in your other vid, another light came on, Is this a problem
Just another thing. If I don't repair my laptop with this problem can I still transfer all the data on it to a new laptop?
If so how?
hi sir Yu .. what if the reflow doesn't work, what is the another possible damage ?
hi
i'm having a dell studio 1458.i tried all the things except the reflow.once i solved this issue by simply removing the ram and refixing it.the laptop suddenly started working without any problem. But two days later again its showing the black screen.can u help me out in this case
when i updated my hp display driver from normal to HD300 .The display goes off when it uses the battery and when it is plugged in, it comes back on. when i decided to downgrade it because it was doing this problem the display started turning black and only comes up if i close the laptop and open it. pls help

Yeah, I'd like to know if you got it working too. I have a G55V gaming laptop that sat unplugged for a couple months and now won't even post.
while i turn on my pc it says that "One of your file is needed to be checked for consistency ...so your file is changed from C: to ntfs...so it is recommended to be checked to skip press any key" but i'll press any key randomly only then it will start...please kindly help me in getting rid of this problem
hi mate i spoke to you about my e machine 625 having black screen i tried everything but came up with nothing so i decided to get a new board which i hooked up and got it going for about 10 minutes and guess wat it did the same thing and went out doing the exact thing as before just cant work it out ant ideas
IF THE reflow is still not working, what is the possible problem....
Try to put hard drive from another laptop and see if it boots up. if it does, it's your os that is corrupted
Thanks! This video was extremely helpful.
Nilay Singh Not so. I pressed on the connection to the inverter and the screen lit up fine. Hurrah
I have not checked the ram, that may be an issue as well...
Nice job, I have never seen that done before!
will this work if I leave the case on? I don't want to pay someone to do it, but don't want to damage my laptop.
I am going to same process on my toshiba laptop
when i give to repair center they tell me that its motherboard was damaged if they were telling me like this can i do this same process on my laptop does it work.if it works i will buy and give you anything from an shopping site.please help me
Hello. my hp laptop wont boot.
I tried everything in your first video I still have a black screen but I have a consistent beeping sound
when I press the on button , the fan starts for few seconds then it stops and no display is shown, is it a problem of GPU?
So I got a screen issue on my older laptop, screen will turn on maybe in 1 of 30 times and if i try to close it or restart it it wont turn on anymore, graphics card seems to be working fine, laptop works perfect expect for built in screen when connected to external monitor.
Hi, shoud I repeat that it only happens when graphic driver is activated. Thanks again
Hey man really really big thanks ! wish you a happy life :)
What's the problem the fix ?
no at most I would assume the bios error. Watch the first version of this video and reset the bios
my cpu pens are broken and the laptop does not boot can you tell me if the reason is this or not
Hi! I have the Packard Bell SJ51. I tried everything except this reflow part. When I turn it on, I can hear the fan and everything but it just show a black screen. Idk what to do... Pls Help. :(
try the reflow. If it works for a bit at least, then you know it's the gpu that's out. Then you can try to replace your motherboard.
Man actually that could be a bios issue rather than the gpu itself
Hello sir
I got Lenovo u410 I also got black screen some time its start but some time it won't start fan is also OK but from some days my laptop doesn't show display what's that problem please suggest me regarding that
William Yu, I believe I have a completely different issue from both videos. My laptop turns on and I hear it working, but the monitor is not, even with an external display. Sometimes, I open and close the lid and in some spots the screen will turn on. From what I read in google, it's probably some sensor, cable or part of the hinge that detects when the lid is open, but I'm not sure where it is. please help!
what model laptop have u got?
gateway nv53
I am going to do what you have shown in yhis video i am so afraid that i can replace my laptops parts in place 'device is toshiba laptop it is having same problem when i have given for repair they where telling me that it is having a dead motherboard but still power light burns.can i do this does it works if it works i will buy and give you anything you want from any shopping app. Sure'
what if I'm using hair dryer how long should i heat them up?
prob like 6 minutes?
it is ok if my loptop still plug in even though the battery is full while I'm playing?
My computer doesn't turn on at all. There's no noise no light light at all. It's fully charged. I checked the rams like you did in the other video. I also unplugged it & took the battery out and held the power button & nothing happened.
well then something on your board is not connected or shorted out. This video is for laptops that start at least.
