Im impressed, they have led in 7 4th quarters this year, lost 3 games on walk off field goals, covered almost every game and are depleted with talent and injuries. Ever since MCDC has taken over all the calls this team has looked pretty good.

Best worst team I've seen in along time
The Lions have been competitive most of the season and lost a lot of really close games. They are nowhere near as bad as people think. They play hard.

It was a perfect example of not looking through an opponent and focusing on the game at hand.
I have to give AJ massive props for steering the conversation back to the lions and pat for acknowledging it. Y'all are maybe the only national outlet that gives the lions ANY credit for this one. It's never about what the lions did, it's always about what the cardinals didn't do.
Lions' players would walk through fire for MCDC. JAGs' players wouldn't piss on Urban Meyer if he was on fire. It's a nuanced difference.

I know you guys are laughing about Jason Cabinda, but this is a TRUE STORY. He played against my home town high school team in the state Playoffs in 2013. He had 35 tackles in the game and ran for over 200 yards. He was the most unstoppable athlete I have ever seen in my entire life up to that point.
People really forget that athletes in the NFL/NBA (or any national sport league) are literally the top fraction of a percent. Literally every player on a teams depth chart is probably the greatest athlete most of us wouldve ever seen in person. It's the best of the best of the BEST. That's why eve mid-tier guts make more on a game than most of us will make in 5 years.

I’m a diehard Lions fan. We have lost a lot of heartbreakers this year. I was at Ford Field to witness Tucker break the record. With some talent added over the next couple of years, and the young guns developing… We could be a good team finally. MCDC has got them roaring.

That Craig Reynolds dude helped a lot, running as much as they did with him allowed them to control the game. Dude was not going down easy.
As a Bears fan, I would like to have a coach who the players play their asses off even with 11 losses.
The Lions should legitimately have about 5 wins right now, 6 or 7 if we're gonna push it a bit but definitely 5.

I didn't think the Lions were that bad. They just could not catch a break. They were fired up and played hard, just unlucky. They got beat by a record field goal and they are what 15 to 20 points from being a .500 team. I fear that next year they are going to crush my Bears. (sigh)

I'm a Falcons fan, and I HATE playing the Lions. Goin back to around 2014, we've had alot of notable games against Detroit and its never a comfortable watch. I wouldnt be surprised at all if the Lions manhandled us next week; they have so much more heart than the Falcons

I was nervous about MCDC in Detroit because of some of his decisions early on, but now I love him in Detroit. Couldnt have a better coach for this culture here in Detroit
Detroit has been plagued with bad luck, but they’ve kept fighting in every game this season. The players love him, they’re making each other better, and they just put the league on notice. Something is brewing in the Motor City, and as a Lions fan, I’m excited
For years, Lions fans have been looking for a coach that brought excitement on a daily basis. The culture around Detroit is buzzing right now and even though the roster needs improvement, you can’t help but feel like anyone who believes in the system now is on the ground floor of great future success. I was at the game and when Amani Oruwariye made that interception, the crowd was so damn loud!
MCDC may not be a great coach (it remains to be seen) but what is clear is he IS a good motivator and leader.
Maybe he takes a page out of Tomlins book and is the motivator of men type coach.

If the Lions get the No.1 pick, they will have 3 picks in the first 33. If they win out and go 5-11-1, they will get 3 picks in the first 38. And plenty of momentum for 2022.
Being a Lions fan, is constantly being terrified of any lead until the final whistle blows.

Lions add another corner and maybe an elite edge and they’re set on d. O line is stacked, Amon ra is coming out, they need a few more receivers though, and imagine an elite running back behind the o line. And Goff is good enough, see what he can do next year, and go for a franchise qb in 2023.
I don't think it's any surprise that once they got Josh Reynolds at WR the offense improves. They're just not as talented as other teams but they'll play harder than everyone.

@@afilleduptaco cardinals didnt have their starting center their o line was a mess with inures all around rookie in at starting corner and losing Robert Alford for the year losing one of the best WR's for the year our d line playing like hot garbage also due to constant injuries. But we lost cause oof kliffs lack of game plan.

This was such a satisfying game to watch being a Lions fan for the past 25 years.
I know cards didn’t have Dhop but lions didn’t have Hockenson, Swift , Ragnow , Jamaal Williams, Flowers , Okwara bros , Jerry Jacob’s , Tracy Walker , Jonah Jackson , Okudah , Cephus , we had a bunch of practice squad and undrafted free agents
Which goes to show you how many great players there are that never get a shot in the league because they weren't from Alabama or the other big schools. Also shows we need to add more teams.

@@kerrysmith1899 I'd say St. Louis definitely but San Diego has 3 or 4 cities in about equal contention with them. Say what you will about the snake that left there but that stadium is atrocious and most expansion teams are going to want the city to help considerably.

No way anyone should talk about an injury to Hopkins being a factor in this game. The Lions had nearly all of their secondary out due to injury or COVID, were down Swift, Williams and Hockenson on offense and kicked butt all game. No one seems to talk about that. Lions are much better than most in the media give them credit for.
Don't forget, they were down the #1 center in the league, arguably.
Lions Lost to Ravens by 2 , Vikings by 2, Browns by 3 tied the Steelers and lost to the bears by 2, sitting at 2-11-1 I’m gonna say they are actually decent when healthy.

As a jags fan, I would have to say if your a lions fan you have to be feeling pretty good about your future, what MCDC doesn’t have in schemes he has in heart (unlike urban) this team would run through a wall for him and they stand behind him even in a lost
His playcalling was excellent during this game as well. Arizona had no idea what was coming and, for the first time in a long time, neither did Lions fans. It was GLORIOUS!

Very proud of Detroit. Hopkins missing from the Cards? Oh! Boo boo! The Lions played with a third string running back, no TJ Hockenson and without a starting receiver. In my mind, Detroit was more short handed than the Cardinals. What we saw yesterday was not luck. The Offensive line is now showing value and it’s starting to pay off.
