  • Photograph the ordinary and make the most of simple things you have available to you, this I believe is one way to develop your own unique photography style or as we say "visual signature". After all nobody knows your "everyday" better than you.

    Another M8 video, you are spoiling me! I photographed a beautiful ‘blush’ sunrise this morning from a front window overlooking a clutter of houses - keying in in the telegraph pole at the end of our neighbour’s drive - and the colours make them sing. I do love this M8.

    Cool video! I do feel like a photographer’s style is mostly a product of the environment they live in and when or where they take photos, much more so than aesthetic choices or processing etc. But I do love the combo of that M8 and Summicron, it does have its own sort of signature!

    Lovely images as always. Thanks. I find that after I keep coming back to the same place, I see new inspirations. The practice of seeing, as you mentioned. Thanks very much again. Take care.

    Exactly. An ingredient of someone's 'digital signature' should be their environment.

    Thanks for your subtle inspiration that you always seem to give. Since 2020 I've been really in a creative slump with not much desire to shoot or edit anything. Thank you for your continued way of inspiring us about photography and the need to create. Blessing to you sir.

    Vintage Paul Smith video, has all the elements - great music and 'feel', unscripted spur of the moment story, wonderful images of the ordinary and a good message. Well done again Paul.

      For my tastes (grew up as a - or thinking I was a landscape photographer) and loving Leiter, Haas, Maisel, Herzog et al above all others, I think your hit rate in terms of images I instantly connect to and like is above all the other UA-cam photographers I see and follow. And there is a lot!

    Thanks Paul, sometimes the things we just drive past every day can make great photos, been meaning to stop a few times to take a photo and say to myself I’ll do it next time, will just have to stop and just take the shots, thanks greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 cheers Mate.

    Thanks for keeping my m8 resale prices up 😂😂 yeah I agree that you make magic like this when you listen to that little voice inside telling you to shoot! I’m putting together a whole zine on power poles they are pretty cool. I’m also coming to Auckland in December for a wedding - just a weekend though. Hopefully can catch you then.

    Thank you. Love the videos. Did you underexpose them slightly to get the silhouettes?

    • @PaulCSmithPhotographer
      @PaulCSmithPhotographer  2 роки тому +1

      Hi David yes sort of I shoot in A mode on this camera, just set the aperture and the camera selects a shutter speed. For the silhouette shots I expose for the highlights in the sky, because of the light range I know my foreground is going to be under exposed.
