Nice radio. Wish it was easier for the UK 40 CB band. It is the offset they use that makes it hard. 60125 to 99125 . With a frequency display you can set it. but having the CH display follow along would be real nice. There's a few outher countries that have odd CB frequencies' as well. . I printed out a chart and laminated it to keep with radio. The 2781 UK CB band does skip over the the US from time to time. for me is winter months and early morning as sun rise to about noon ,Then DX window changes direction .Last winter the NY to UK was open 10/11/12 meters and like clockwork at times. worked same station same time every day for a month. I got Derbyshire,London,Manchester,Midlands ,Lockerbie Scotland and so much more last winter into spring. and the contacts wear made portable with end fed half wave set in a veritable ground mount. or my DX commander antenna . That gets me low take off angle for DX . Love all the colors you can select ! great looking radio. 73
Definitely if it's got the avg power distortion mods. SRA 198 is designed to make those modded radios sound good because it has such little voice response that you don't sound over modulated or distorted. Otherwise any microphone can be used. Dynamic 🎙️ with some mixing would work well.
Unless you have one that came from the latest shipment from Stryker they're not going to have the SWR on the channel selector. It's a new feature they added on the latest production of them.
@ScottsRadios mine looks just like that one it looks like it would have a letter or a number different so I knew I would be buying the one like the one in the video... I bought mine new but it's been about 2 months ago and haven't done anything to it but done the little easy 11 meter conversion....
@@charlesgregg2711 there's no feature to turn on inside the radio though. If yours is going to read SWR it will as soon as you've press the microphone button and transmit.

@@charlesgregg2711 I'm still waiting to hear back from Stryker to see how to tell by S/N which ones have the SWR on dial indicator. Only way right now is to order from a shop like Scott's who will make sure you get one.
@@ScottsRadios I'm a truck driver and with the same antenna I've tried a Cobra 29, 148gtl and at-6666. The quad 6 beats the other ones by 2 s-units. All radios were done by the same tech. I was just wondering.

How do I look up that radio that shows the swr??? I have a 497hpc and really like the radio but it doesn't show the swr on the channel display...

How's the receive on these compared to the quad 6?
That's a hard question to answer because they're made by two entirely different factories and they are two entirely different radios.
