The Ronald I have came with fqp13n10 1x2 configuration. My question is the radio with the echo on and when key up their is a noise on transmit? Tried different mics that did not help. Even does this noise with mic gain and power output all the way down. The sound can even be heard through the talk back. The best way to describe it sounds like a dubbel key up. Only does this with the echo on. Doesn't matter where the echo is set it still does this sound.
It's a pop right at key up. It's normal. Mine does it also but it's not as noticable as other radios I've worked on. Has a lot to do with the chipset. Nothing to worry about.
Can you talk an extended period of time without the finals getting too hot and blowing up. I would like to know if you can have an extended conversation without having to worry about it.
They get hot. I limit my talk time to 30 minutes with 10 minutes of cool down time. I recently installed a fan on my radio desk blowing directly across the heatsink and now it's unlimited key down time. So in a nutshell, I recommend placing the radio in a well ventilated area or have forced air blowing on it.
Dude, I swing the full 70 watts into my 203. I see 250 peak and 150 average. It's not the peak power that kills the amp, it's the average or RMS power. I have a video showing the Ronald driving a kl203. Check it out
Thanks for the info
Any time!

Did you also remove R131 as well in this mod or is this only with the 1N4148 diode and 68ohm resistor installed that gives the swing rate?
Do a fan mod on it.
I'm already working on it.
hello to you very good video i can't find this on the internet, the thooo 0hm 5% resistance very hard to find i can't find it thanks
Where to find 5% resistance and the diode 4148 thanks
I order all my parts from ICAMANUFACTURING.COM
I would like to the Ronald to rm italy 203 I need 1 watt to 15 watt swing can you help and is it worth it
