@@sinnythefennec69 it's about two FBI agents who get assigned to paranormal cases that the government doesn't want everyone to find out about. one is a hardcore believer in aliens and ghosts and stuff, while the other is skeptical of everything until the plot of the episode inevitably proves the existence of whatever paranormal thing is happening.
some of the episode plots mirror popular films of the time like groundhog day, and some are almost like they're from SCP.
it's a very good show, go watch it.

That early Knuckles sprite kind of looks like what the Sonic 3 PAL box art Knuckles is based off of
yknow, something i've just realised when coming back to this video is that mecha sonic's attacks, even in his super form, are based on sonic's original abilities, he was much more of a mimic than metal sonic in the combat sense at least
his 3 different jump attacks are
jumping into the air then zooming across the screen (hyper sonic's air dash)
jumping and bouncing high into the air (bubble shield)
jumping and rolling across the ground (drop dash)
and when he's in his super form, he shoots rings at you... yknow, like the cut ability sonic has in this prototype
I just love how every time Blue Knuckles shows up, part of the X-Files theme plays

a few years ago i had a dream where i was playing SA2 with my brother and we got to a knuckles stage, but knuckles was blue and his name was "chuckles." at some point after getting exhausted and unable to find one of the emerald shards, we both go to the kitchen to get some popcorn. I then suddenly hear someone shout "FUCK." It came from the tv. We both slowly turned to look at the TV.... chuckles was staring directly at us from it, just standing in the level unpaused.

27:55 I like this idea of Tails having scripted sequences like that. Imagine playing Sonic 3 but Tails is fully aware of secret areas and higher paths in the level, so he offers to take you to them at his own volition. That'd be cool. Would probably impact that feeling of independent exploration for the player in later playthroughs though, so they did the right thing keeping Tails just a basic follower.
Maybe in very certain levels, where it was harder to get to the top path, he could leave at a certain point, and then early on in the top path, he could come back.
The gag with Blue Knuckles (AKA Tails, obviously) where the X-Files theme kept playing for a split second was more hilarious than it has any right to be
Anyway this video was (probably) worth the wait, I got to learn about the Blue Knuckles and Red Sonic OCs, and find out how to kill Eggman

Hey, I have no idea if this bug is well known or not, but if you leave Sonic 3 long enough to make the demo begin, then press start to go back to the title screen while Sonic is still in super form, then start the game as Tails, you can break boulders that would normally be broken by spindashes just by walking into them.
I don't find this very useful, and it doesn't work when locked on to S&K, but it's there.

Okay so hear me out; What if they brought back Fang as a playable character and he had the same ring throwing mechanics from the Sonic 3 beta, just reskinned to fit him better. The ring changed to a cork and the recoil from firing it out the pop gun sends him back a little bit.

6:00 Speaking of Super Sonic's idle animation, I remember noticing that rather his idle or balancing animation has a weird moment of top head being offset by a couple of pixels, like if it pops out of the skull or something. That was frequently bothering me once I look at Sonic that way

By the way, if you go into the sound test/level select in the build found by drx, the level icons are the same used in Sonic 2, in the same order of each zone. I'm assuming Sonic 3 was built off of the final Sonic 2 build and remade into what we define Sonic 3 today, and probably the same for Sonic 2 and 1. Thought that was a neat little detail to point out.

Here's a secret I've barely seen anyone talk about or show off: By playing Sonic 3 Alone and entering the Gumball Machine bonus stage, hold down the Jump button to jump as soon as you enter it. If you have 50 rings or more, you'll transform into Super Sonic within the bonus stage.

Well, you can't get in without 50 rings (unless through the Level Select screen), so it's really about whether or not you have all the Chaos Emeralds.

A glitch with blue knuckles is that if you die as super knuckles but use debug mode to save yourself you can get hurt and lose rings despite being in the super form and if you do you will lose the super form but turn into regular knuckles with the red color pallet and the lives icon will show red sonic and you will still be referred to as tails when finishing an act
Watched this (again) right after the chao video and the rarest Dreamcast video. Thank you for making the longer form content that you do. It's helped me get through at least a few night shifts.
