The video is really solid. I appreciate that you built whole system and review it. I don't know why there are so many reviewer talk so much without building a system with the case.
I am now totally in love with this case! Having used "COOLER MASTER" products (power supplies and cases) I think they do quite a good job. Their products simply run, run, run (for years)- And thanks for the review. It is really a high quality review.
I removed the exhaustfan and placed it in the front, airflow increased and temperatures dropped dramatically (ryzen 3600 + 5700xt reference). It s not that bad at all.
@Luis Emilio Liriano Aróstegui I just have the default fan set up. It was surprisingly cool. That said my previous case had one crappy fan and no side panel.
Great video, I bought one because the NR400 wasn't available where I live. I have a Ryzen 2600 as well with the Deepcool Gammaxx GT and an extra fan in the front and it is absolutely fine in terms of temperatures. This case looks great and is well built
I don't really see the issue with this case. Anyone building a new system will most likely purchase a better cooling solution and all you would have to do is remove the optical drive bay and put 2 140mm fans in the front. Do that and it will perform just fine. This will most likely be my next case because of the minimalist clean look. I'm not in to all the glass and RGB bling.
actually i dont understand the problem with 67 degrees under load with a proper cooler - if you want to get more out of your processor than lets say word and chrome you should always invest in a proper cooling solution. Seems like the case can take even a high end system with proper cooling as there is much headroom
They're also perpetuating the myth that higher temperatures reduces lifespan. CPU's and GPU's have an operating temperature, just like engines. 67 degrees on an unreasonable load is perfectly fine. 80 degrees on Candy Crush is not. If you try to run a CPU lower than it's operating temperature, that's perfectly fine also, but you don't get any extra performance as a normal user. It's like changing the stock air intake on your car for an aftermarket one. Sure, it sounds better but do you really notice that 5 extra bhp, if at all?
just found the channel after seeing this case in store today, i appreciate the thorough review and testing with door open to see why it was running hot! thx
Yup, I think you sold me on the NR. The S400 isn't much quieter and the NR, with the mesh front, gives you great airflow, but also gives a bit of bling to the front if you have the fans. Can't lose either way... Thanks for the video! Sub'd.
@@TechTesters - Ya know, I do like the door on this as opposed to the NR. I'll be using an optical and I think I prefer the S400 for it. Can close it, a little cleaner, but not the same option for front fan bling. Tough call! All the best.
@8:00 Cooler Master is one of the top brands (and one of my favorites). I have used their products over the years and they served me well without a hiccup. So they are quite an experienced company and have many good engineers. Now I do not understand your point simply because C.M. engineers must have thought something during the design and what is more they must have tested the prototype(s) before the mass production. So there is no way this so called major problem be a "real" problem. I am pretty sure C.M. have an official response to that. Have you ever contacted and asked them about this so called "unexpected behaviour" ?
I think you applied the CPU paste wrong. It's inconceivable to have significantly higher temps in this case compared to the other one when both are open.
So if you put some food fans in there your troubles will magically go away. Front mount 240 and a good 120 on the back you’ll find it actually performs.
You can never get the perfect balance between silence and thermal cooling. Good thing many graphic cards nowadays turn off the fans on idle, and some power supplies do that too.
imo best setup/case, all sides mesh, every spot populated with fans except bottom of the gpu, without dust filters. And all fans set to 700-1000rpm negative pressure. Air will find way in due lower pressure in the case trough bottom of the case, so gpu get fresh air. voila, silent and cool. I have been doing that for 6m with air 240 works great.
That's right, so it's important to figure out what's good for you. But like you say: even non-silence focus cases are quiet these days due to fans that stop or just more efficient components. Makes 'dampened' cases more niche imho.
Negative pressure with lots of slow fans is the way it's been done for decades, but it's definitely a dust magnet that way. Luckily fans have become quieter and more efficient at static pressure, so pulling the fresh air through fine mesh and pushing it towards where you need it has become an equally great alternative for silent cooling while keeping the dust out better. Unfortunately, and while I praise the great work many UA-camrs and websites do nowadays, the trend of focussing on stock thermals in reviews causes manufacturers to compromise between airflow potential and included fans. I would like to see case manufacturers focus on the case itself, not include any fans (reducing the price or allowing them to invest in f.e. airflow guidance tunnels), and just give system-builders and reviewers a guideline of where to add fans to get the intended cooling performance. Many enthusiasts throw out the stock fans anyways.
Maybe attaching 2x 140 mm noctua case fans in front intake, 2x 140 mm noctua case fans on top as exhaust, and 1x 120 mm noctua case fans at the back as exhaust would help the thermals.
I'm thinking of building a system in this case with a Ryzen 9 5900x, 3080FE, and 2 intake fans with 1 exhaust+the exhaust fan on the GPU. I don't know, though, if the temps will be ok. But I really like the styling...
Is this hot because of the case design or the default fan speed and placement? That is, is the problem solved by replacing fans? I'm trying to get my head around why this has a design similar to the Fractal Define Mini C but that case supposedly has good thermals and this one has bad thermals.
Great video - would increasing the intake fans to 2x140mm on the front deal with the heat issue? And could the case be used on it's side with the feet removed?
It would help, but not so much it would change my conclusions. About putting it sideways. You can, but it would look odd. Even if you can remove the feet (not sure)
listening to you say silence in Spanish was, like when you speak French to the woman to make her fall in love. Returning to the case to be so similar to nr400 the most important question is what is the real direction in terms of noise. Great video!
Reviews like this seriously annoy me. The case comes with the ability to mount all kinds of fans. If it isn't cooling, it's because you didn't use those features. It comes with two 120mm fans. If you are going to run hotter components, add two or three 140mm front fans and make and it a fridge. Add two top exhaust fans if needed. This isn't a review of the case, is a review of your inability to use the case's features.
Hi Nada(?) Great video, just some constructive criticism for your hand fantastic modelling: can we see a colour change for the nice glossy nail polish? Rainbow RGB maybe 😍 Haha 😆 love your work 👍 Stay cool!
Hey I just found this channel, I like it, nice production values/effort etc.
The video is really solid. I appreciate that you built whole system and review it. I don't know why there are so many reviewer talk so much without building a system with the case.
Some cases you can easily guess the outcome without building by just looking at them, but yeah, can't call that a review :D

I will buy this case and put another fan on the front. That should do the trick too
@Luis Emilio Liriano Aróstegui I just have the default fan set up. It was surprisingly cool. That said my previous case had one crappy fan and no side panel.
I just switched to all noctuas. Its much much stable now. An oven before this

I wanted this over the NR400 because I wanted something with a steel side panel. Coolermaster should make an NR400 with a closed off panel as well.

I will put this new case just in front one of the outlet of my climatizer. Et voilà ! Nice and neat review by the way Madame. Greetings from France 😎.

The NR400 sure looks like a great case indeed, especially for its price.
thank you for the info! thats just what i needed to know
i had ignored the gpu heat warnings. big problem.
solution: buy 2 140m for front intake
I guess brute force can work :P

The dust filters puzzle me. I am not looking forward to flipping this case every time I vacuum, to expose its bottom.

Excellent review.
I believe this kind of case need high pressure fans like A12x25 or SF120M...right?
How well might this work with a 5900x?
Currently considering buying one if its suitable, and I don't mind using additional/replacement fans.

Alguém que TEM esse gabinete pode me dizer se de fato há uma redução considerável do ruído? Sobre a qualidade do material dele, é bem acabado?
Which case is better in terms of noise isolation and dust protection? This S400 or Fractal Design Define Mini C?
I doubt you’d notice a difference. Both will need an occasional cleaning.
On which position should I place the 2 fans which come with it?
Are there not any good quiet cases on the market? :(
If you buy the right parts, a modern pc will be near silent or even completely silent.
Looks like you had some fun in the sun, lol. Thanks for the review.
Sunburn is not a lie :D
Makes a case to be quite, to make it more loud.
Will probably be my new server case 🤪
this is the case in building my NAS in
Sounds like a good fit :)
3 HDD on the bottom fit for 3.5 HDD is it?
can you remove the optical drive
Yep! 3:37 ;)
I am so surprised that it only slightly quieter.
I was going to put a 5900X into this with a 2 fan AIO

Nice toaster.
Very nice cabinet
Is this case equal or better than the NR400?
It's the same case except for the front part and the insulated side panel.

case is garbage. cannot get the hard drive to fit in the bottom rack. they could have at least make the door opening a full size one on both sides.
