    They are quite beautiful swimming in a group, and I very much enjoyed your camerawork and editing as always. I appreciate how you give important and useful information on keeping them.
    I can’t really blame them for being a bit skittish around the bottle of worms…they kind of resembled Cthulhu working his way up to an escape lol. Thanks again Dave, for always caring about quality.🖤🇨🇦

    One of my favorites! I keep 15 of them with roseline sharks, dwarf pea puffers, one short finned male betta (pea puffers had to teach him a lesson), peppered corys, a rubber lip pleco, and a clown pleco (I never see the 2 plecos of course), and a ton of mystery, ramshorn, and pond snails (Mr & Mrs Diddys favorite food). They all get along well. The betta thinks he is the tank boss but the puffers (Mr Pea Diddy & Mrs. Pea Nellopea Diddy) are the real tank bosses. Everyone gets along great. There are enough barbs for them to keep to themselves.
    Thanks for another great video!!!

      You're lucky your Betta has found a way to be successful. I bought a 55 gal for Sol the orange half moon Betta and promptly started picking on the Cory's he had lived with peacefully for 6 months. He's a beautiful grump. I might try him again when he's older and more "mature". Congrats on a very interesting tank

      I have 22 tiger barbs in a 29 gallon (132 liter) tank and I change 5 gallons of water per week. This is way more than "the experts" would tell you is okay. I started out with 10 tiger barbs, but the tank seemed empty, so I ordered 10 more, and they sent 12 !!! I use a single large sponge filter for filtration, I don't overfeed, and everything is working beautifully. They are the only fish in the tank, and I don't have any trouble.

    I had bought 6 tiger barb along with glass fish and zebra danio. 4 to 5 days all were good, floating around the tank. Later i noticed, one of the tiger barb,the Male one used to keep chasing around the female tiger barbs. So bcoz of continuous chasing, the female tiger barbs used to hide below the sponge filter. But poor females for how long they will hide?? They used to come out from below sponge filter but again the male one used to chase. So among 6 tiger barbs, 4 of them died due to stress caused by the male one. There might be other reasons for death but according to my internet research, stress caused to them might be the reason for their death. When all barbs were alive, I noticed that the male one was nipping the tail fin of the females. Today itself i also noticed that the one of my zebra danio tail fin was damaged. The reason for this might be due to male tiger barb or it might be due to zebra danio nipping the tail fin of each other bcoz i observed this they were doing and chasing each other. So what you think about this?? Any solution you can provide?? I even contacted fish store from where i bought these fish but he didn't help me out.

    • @TheDave333
      @TheDave333  2 роки тому +3

      You may have a single hyper-aggressive male tiger barb. They all have their own personality. . . A larger school of barbs helps spread out the aggression. A larger tank with lots of places to hide in the form of live plants would have also been helpful. Fish will also sometimes get very aggressive if there's not enough food, and start fighting. So, always be sure there's plenty to eat. My suggestion is to use at least a 29 gallon tank, and put in 12 tiger barbs and lots of plants. No other fish, just tiger barbs. Then, there will be less trouble. Best of luck. :-D

      In my 55 gallon I recently had a young virile male begin to attack 2 of my elderly males whose colors had begun to fade. The aggressive male chased and attacked the 2 elderly males nipping at them so badly to a point where their tails looked like broom straws which impeded their ability to swim correctly. I scooped up the aggressive male and donated him to a local pet shop which allowed the 2 elderly males to live out what little time they had in relative peace. At this time I had 2 older and larger females with about 7 other smaller barbs. I then bought an additional 10 baby barbs over a 3 week span adding 3-4 each week. Now all of the barbs can grow into their own in time to establish pecking order and hopefully none will turn into beast mode.
