am a prophet and I fasted for spiritual growthI have about 5 -40 day fasts under my belt since the year1995 1999 and 2000 were my most poiwerful years. But adfter about my 5th fast ?Gods soke to me n said I need to live a fastive life style. And at the time I was clueless and now you and Dr, Jason Fung have kind of revealed something to me with this inter mitent fasting and a much better understanding of fasting in general the physiology needless to say fasting is not an easy thing to preach or teach even if you are anointed of the Holy Spirit. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am type 2 now with complications so I am fasting for my ownhealth and its no jo0ke any more!
Thank you for highlighting the differences between how men and women should participate in fasting. I fell into the Fasting hole after feeling so amazing from doing it and ended up causing more problems long term but the short term inflammation decrease was amazing for my autoimmune condition. It nice to know there is a balanced way to fast for everyone
I also have an autoimmune disorder and feeling great from fasting. I've been doing OMAD for about 4 years now. I have noticed thinning hair 😩 but the only time I would lose my period or have any period issues was if I cheated and ate in a larger fasting window 🤷 that's why I've just stuck with one meal a day for so long. I'm also not on any meds for my Rheumatoid arthritis 😁
This has a lot to do with addiction as well. Addiction is really fear, and your brain telling you a certain substance provides protection from that thing you’re afraid of
Fasting works ! I lost like 15 pounds in a couple of months ( could not lose it in 30 years ) but it takes a true commitment to be ok with being hungry and uncomfortable for awhile .
I backed away from Type2 attracted after years of awful eating. I almost completely corrected all my metabolic markers in just three months. My Dr. was baffled and asked “what did you do to fix all this” my short simple answer was “ I stopped feeding my sugar, Sugar. I’ve lost 75lbs since than and right this minute I’m at about 36hrs in this months extended fast. At 74 years old it’s great to be better than 3 years ago.
Other books do indeed talk about how to cope with the difficulties of fasting - all aspects. I'm not sure why Dave feels the need to claim he's filled some niche that no one else has, but he compromises his credibility when he says things like this. He makes a lot of sense, but so have many others. There are PLENTY of books and plans for fasting currently in publication which absolutely address the physical and mental challenges that average, overweight, metabolically compromised, and sick individuals can/will encounter during both intermittent and extended fasting. It would be a silly and incomplete story, and would certainly not lead to success for many. Dave is certainly not the only expert writing about fasting, and he's certainly not the best. In the end, he's less interested in helping humans than he is in selling stuff. Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. William Davis, Gin Stephens, Stephen Harrod Buhner, and several others have excellent books that explain the science and benefits of fasting, and do indeed address the difficulties some folks face when fasting.
I was very disappointed in this interview as well. I listened to about half of it and there wasn't any information, that would have been new or helpful to anyone not totally new to the topic. Is there any specific book, you'd recommend for someone interested in the topic? I'm having trouble choosing. In my experience, a lot of authors just go on and on about their personal experiences or this or that person and their 'success story' and I absolutely hate that. I want information and science (explained appropriately for a layperson), not page after page of 'fluff'.
@morgana you speak truth. He's rather smarmy, which i find annoying attractive, but he's really not saying anything different (but loves to promote himself)! I do like what he says about fasting not having to be such a "self inflicted punishment".
Ya, I've been watching and waiting for the unique revelations and concrete advice and they are not appearing. I'm not fearful of fasting, I don't worry about some awful consequence - my body knows it's just plain unpleasant to be really hungry! I'm at hour 44 of a water fast as I write this; I am well informed of the wonderful and powerful benefits of a longer fast - that's why I am doing it - but it's still damned hard and that's just the way it is. :-)
Please allow me to accept what you have to say with out a agenda other than truth: You hate positive communicators and experience them as vile with negative intentions. (Dr Fung is a shitty communicator which outstanding data imo and your okay with him correct?) You don’t like people who are really successful at making things easy and systemized because it make you feel less smart which is a addiction in its self . You like a bunch of quality other people though, who are less effective at sharing but possibly more detail rich while ignoring the basic balances of things on the whole thereby making crap for many people but it serves your elitism so it’s fine. Your okay with the success of those people because they are not middle of the road types open to all. Did I miss much? Yes... there are hundreds or more of fasting books which we could ask dude about and why he narrowed it down to just 1/2 dozen... most likely because he’s making it simple for people or because that’s what he saw at a store... You gottem by short wiggies on the last point but he’s helped many so that counts for allot;-)
I'm halfway through and so far, I haven't really learned anything new or exciting. Bit disappointing, considering the title of the video. This isn't a masterclass, it's an introduction/sales pitch for the book.

In the Pentecostal faith, we will fast weekly. Some, especially preachers, ministers, missionaries and teachers will fast 40 days as Jesus and Moses did. I fasted a lot growing up so it's easy for me, my mind and body to slip into fasting mode. My thing is, fasting separately for health and my faith. I gain benefits of both, but there are times I want to devote all my energy to prayer and fasting for the Lord rather than just health. When I fast for health, I eat in the morning and skip supper. It's easier for me to skip meals at home than at work.
It is amazing to see these brilliant, giving, loving people adjust their previous ideas and continue to create this ‘theory of everything.’ Thank you! 😀👍🏻
if you want people to be successful, I agree....highlight the fact that the process is NOT painful or really hard. Most people see alot of benefit but think to themselves that's too hard for me..
A good discussion. Fasting will benefit anyone but must train your body. Many grossly overweight people are addicted by food like any other drugs. I think some people feel freedom in ability to overeat, and eat what they want. But not true freedom on having good healthy. Ahh where does exercise come in at or just walk?
I’d like to be able to drink Ultima Replenisher drink while fasting. It is a electrolyte powder. Would this take me out of ketosis? It has zero calories.
I started fasting.. in the past month and a bit I did couple 36 hour fast , couple of 24 hour and few IF days and now my period is late ( def not pregnant)...
Look into Dr. Mindys fasting circle. If you fast during your progesterone creating phase roughly 20 days after your last cycle started then your causing undo stress to your endocrine and reproductive system. Also this is the best time increase your carbs (sweet potatoes and squash etc)
Just an extra tip for women... the last week or so before your cycle is the most crucial time to NOT fast. Your body needs the hormonal triggers of food to produce the correct hormones for a healthy cycle. :)
He says how great fasting is, then says don't do it ALL the time, but never says when to stop what to switch to or for how long before returning in videos.
I’ve been 12 years vegan and more healthy than most at my grand age of 50. I’ve lost many friends to ill health already, very sadly. I was looking into fasting and maybe some vegan keto as a fast track fix to get back to where I was in the autumn after a truly insanely huge amount of processed carb and sweet treat overeating over the Christmas period. This year it seemed everyone I know seemed to think I needed cakes, chocolates and sweets as a treat (nope this feels like a burden not a treat) but I’ve been ploughing through them for 6 weeks and gained weight and feeling terrible. I heard quite a lot of negativity in your video about the vegan diet and I would just like to balance what you say by being living proof that sensible mindful vegan eating IS highly sustainable. I have yet to have any greys, my hair is thick and healthy, my skin is better in the last decade than it’s been all my life as a now ex eczema sufferer. I am definitely not suffering, I am thriving after 12 years. But it’s definitely the sugar and the processed carbs that have caused me trouble these past intense few weeks of unhealthy eating. I’m glad to hear your advice that keto and fasting shouldn’t be a permanent regime as I haven’t heard that said anywhere yet. I’m going to try cautiously, I certainly don’t want to lose my hair! Eek! But I hear what you say about the benefits of mitochondrial renewal. I’m usually one to avoid fad eating. The vegan decision was made for ethical reasons when I was nine years old but hated vegetables! It took me a while to get even to veggie but I went veggie for 20 years and then vegan ever since so it’s been well over 30 years since I ate meat. I can honestly say I’m not sick or dead 😆. It’s good to hear balance, but long term veganism is perfectly fine if you are sensible, balanced, you get yourself well informed, listen to your body and don’t eat junk. I dabbled with raw too, but that wasn’t sustainable, I agree. Thank you for such an interesting video!
I so agree! I get my labs checked regularly and there isn't anyone in my entire meat-eating (and they do follow a clean diet) family who has better labs than me. Intermittent fasting is old news...they have been doing this in India for centuries....but Dave's version of it is breathing new life into the benefits. It's causing people to have some hope. The one thing I wish he'd get over is his aversion to veganism. It's in direct contract to some of the most prominent anti-aging doctors and researchers including Dean Ornish, Victor Longo, David Sinclair, Dr. Esselstein, etc., etc. Don't get me wrong, Dave is entertaining (I love his voice and humor) but I would really love if he would be a little more open-minded and more inclusive. After all, the longest lived cultures in the world are either entirely, or mostly, plant-based.
Damn, been intermittent fasting for 3 years straight with basically no breaks, I started to have tons of health issues and I’m only 25, I refused to make the connection because I thought intermittent fasting was universally good in all circumstances.
I think the idea is to change it up once in a while. Maybe open your eating window for breakfast and lunch if you normally open it for lunch and dinner. Or do 16:8 if you normally do 20:4. Basically, keep the body guessing on occasion.
This podcast can be summarized in the old adage "Everything in Moderation!" More than half the world are on starving mode because the other half have too much, much too much of the earth's resources. I’ve noticed when I starting fasting my mind and clarity was clear..if anyone can understand..drink water or whatever you need but absolutely no food ..mind wise it’s not for everyone for sure !
Last year I did a 7 day, only day one was hard. Now I’m doing 3 on 1 off, pretty easy.
Bless his big heart . 🙏🏼 Much appreciated. He writes books to share knowledge, not make money . Good heart
am a prophet and I fasted for spiritual growthI have about 5 -40 day fasts under my belt since the year1995 1999 and 2000 were my most poiwerful years.
The way he explained is satisfying !
Can we just pause and acknowledge Dhru's gorgeous skin??
Actually, I was admiring his teeth 👌
Do you no what he’s putting on? Where all aging even Dave
@@daveydoodle1916 even Dave????? NOOOO!!!!!!

Loved that talk , thank you mates ..... Ali from Pakistan
Love from India 🇮🇳
Addiction is really fear, and your brain telling you a certain substance provides protection from that thing you’re afraid of
That's an interesting description of addiction. I've never heard it put that way but it's absolutely right.
Dave is absolutely right ! Glad to hear people who know what they are talking about ❤️✨😉
I just finished Dave's 14 day fasting challenge, it was phenomenal! Bio-hacking fasting makes it easy and fasting becomes like this beneficial drug.
How does it work the 14 day challenge?
Oh to add I listen or feel my personal condition and act on that. I just need to figure out refeeding I call it getting refatted. Enjoying this video.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes while doing IF last year. But this year I will reverse it
Excellent interview Dhru! You are doing God’s work by promoting fasting!
Why do see the need to throw rocks at our friends?🤠
Please allow me to accept what you have to say with out a agenda other than truth:
You hate positive communicators and experience them as vile with negative intentions.
(Dr Fung is a shitty communicator which outstanding data imo and your okay with him correct?)
You don’t like people who are really successful at making things easy and systemized because it make you feel less smart which is a addiction in its self .
Wa! Your skin already convinced me to do fasting😀
Thank you so much for this video! It’s good to know that cycling fasting for women is essential!
You have me intrigued and now I want to read your book!
This is one of the best interviews that I’ve seen with Dave. Thank you.
Very excited to listen to this one!
Thanks for this. Great advice.
Great information 🔥
One of my most favorite podcasts. Your are a great host and speaker. The people you bring on have taught me so much. Thank you!!
They told you what you wanted to hear.
"Electrons power your energy?" Wtaf?
Excellent talk. Thank for sharing
I’m about to embark on a 5 day (weekdays) water fast, 2 days (weekends) eating intermittently.
I'm halfway through and so far, I haven't really learned anything new or exciting. Bit disappointing, considering the title of the video.
This isn't a masterclass, it's an introduction/sales pitch for the book.
Yes it's sales pitch for a book, but if we can get more to read the book and apply it wouldn't it change the world.🤠
You don’t have to buy the book, I personally learned a lot of fasting tips! Knowledge is power! 🙌🏾🙏🏽💪🏽
of course.. Its Dave Asprey.. its going to be him complimenting himself and selling his products. Good business owner. But narcissistic
Yes, boring! Can't make it to half way.
Here’s a master class. ua-cam.com/video/iGwAM7HyC6s/v-deo.html
Very inspiring and insightful video.
😎 wonderful. Thanks dry and dave
"Hypoglybitchy" 😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂 I'm so DONE! But it's TRUE! Some call it "Hangry"!!! LMAO! Great info!
Before I was a regular faster, I would get hungricidal.
Thank you guys!!
Love it 🔥
I feel like ass when i dont fast daily! I do a 20-24hr daily fast and feel great. My year around allergies/stuffy nose issues has decreased dramatically from fasting

This guy is awesome 🙌
Excellent podcast.
Great video, thank you 🙏
Awesome!!!
Thank you!
When fasting I take silica tissue salts, Moringa and Withania powder for health support.
This is the "Master Class"? Good God, I should be teaching at the University.
😆
In the Pentecostal faith, we will fast weekly. Some, especially preachers, ministers, missionaries and teachers will fast 40 days as Jesus and Moses did. I fasted a lot growing up so it's easy for me, my mind and body to slip into fasting mode. My thing is, fasting separately for health and my faith. I gain benefits of both, but there are times I want to devote all my energy to prayer and fasting for the Lord rather than just health. When I fast for health, I eat in the morning and skip supper. It's easier for me to skip meals at home than at work.
Just found your videos today great
Content 👍
Really I learned not just about the way of fasting and it’s benefits but too other things about life that will help me to be a better one
"Although I don't know why you'd do that; it's not healthy for the planet or for your health". Yes!
Hi Doc, what about fasting and kidney disease
Thanks
It is amazing to see these brilliant, giving, loving people adjust their previous ideas and continue to create this ‘theory of everything.’
Thank you!
😀👍🏻
Very interesting. OMG a lot to learn still. Thanks
Brilliant man.
if you want people to be successful, I agree....highlight the fact that the process is NOT painful or really hard.
The more I listen to Dave, the more I love him.
Curious because after prolonged fasting my appetite isn't there. If I eat whatever I want for long periods of time I jusy want more and more.
That was a great talk. Dhru, could you tell where I could learn more about your decision to leave veganism behind?
Best talk and explanation I've ever heard on fasting ..Thank-you 🙏
yes! super good
I’d like to be able to drink Ultima Replenisher drink while fasting.
This amazing content.
Dave A is the master Bio Hacker ❤ for me
Dave suggest eating meals the Polish way!
Check it out!!! Dr. Andrew Huberman has a podcast now!!😁👍🏽👍🏽✌🏽
Those are REAL master classes!
Fasting is the best thing that’s happen to me down 55 plus pounds and now I cycle
really next level....
@ 44: 20 Seed oils? Do not eat seeds in the morning?
I'm with you too. I feel way better as a vegan, body and soul.
RIP
Damn, been intermittent fasting for 3 years straight with basically no breaks, I started to have tons of health issues and I’m only 25, I refused to make the connection because I thought intermittent fasting was universally good in all circumstances.
Im doing the 16/8 fast, For the past 3 months. I have lost 45 pounds doing it. I feel good. What is too much fasting?
I think the idea is to change it up once in a while. Maybe open your eating window for breakfast and lunch if you normally open it for lunch and dinner. Or do 16:8 if you normally do 20:4.
Basically, keep the body guessing on occasion.
I had pre-diabetes. IF for 4 years. Am now diagnosed type 2 diabetic. I must be doing something wrong
Thankyou for this very healthy conversation.
How many days in a week would you recommend for 16 hour fast?
Everyday
This podcast can be summarized in the old adage "Everything in Moderation!" More than half the world are on starving mode because the other half have too much, much too much of the earth's resources. This advice is good for those who have the choice. Unfortunately, many do not have the choice, cannot read and let alone buy the book.
lot off deep insights, and I first time heard about this "hate" or ect fasting, sounds great.
Through the blinds of duality...energy smiles...when you fast Atonement; at one ment occurs....Kindness pervades...
