That's hilarious.... I literally did this with my cage so that my older rats wouldn't have to climb so much.
It's pretty convenient! Even my oldest boy can climb everything without risks 🥰
This makes me want to get another CN for my girls. They never used the top level of their first cage, so I upgraded to a single CN. side by side is a great idea!
I noticed similar behavior in the past when I had the typical set up for a dcn. They mostly avoided one half. This way they can use the whole cage, and do! 🥰
It looks amazing! Can't wait to see what you decide to do for permanent trays.
