@@Spenny909 I've always been a DIY guy. Maintained an old 928S4 for 20 years. That thing was way more complex than the 458. Start with an oil change. There's vids showing how to do it for most cars. Just jump in and do it!
check you transmission fluids - there is a way to test for viscosity between both fluids inside there to see if your seals and bearings are holding up; mine failed as of 2 weeks ago!!! after 12 years
I have a 2011 458 Italia, 54,000 km. Absolutely love the car! No issues. The only maintenance has been regular oil changes (and the brake system recall - although never had an issue there either).
Buying one tomorrow morning.. a very good and detailed video, although I've heard'em all before I appreciate the way you present it all to us.

The problem with many of the gearbox issues is that even the repair (as opposed to replacement) involves buying an entire pack of sensor components (even if just one sensor is bad) - and that pack is something around the £10,000 mark. Oh, and Ferrari isn't exactly great at keeping up sensor production. So at some point, finding replacement sensors will likely become an issue, too..
The best advice with a 458 purchase is to get one with a Ferrari Power Warranty attached, or get one independently (about 3 grand - and that's AFTER Ferrari main dealer says the car is OK.. 💸💸)

thats why you buy a 2013 model year as they are very hackable, also you need to look out for carbon seats, front lift and carbon fibre exterior bits,

Hi mate, I have two questions. 1. I am 6"4 in your opinion would I be able to fit into this Super Car? You don't look so tall and your head is very close to the roof. 2. Can you customize a second-hand Ferarri? I was told customization is reserved for brand-new cars only.

is it true that is better to buy 458 only from 2013? because they solved problems from that year?
did you mention the DCT gearbox failures? Lots are failing now due to AGE not mileage; my 2011 just failed last week 6/24, going for "surgery" next week. Loss of pressure no even gears or reverse. These DCT failure are now costing us between $8-20k to fix :( for all getrag transmission from 2009-2018)

Dealer reported that the passenger side rear shock absorber/magneride has started to leak and advises replacement, how do i get in touch with your refurb team? Dealer is charging almost 6k for a replacement

My 2014 458 had gearbox issues so it can happen on newer cars as well.
What were the problems ? Can you share a few details
@@ScottishCarClan Nothing electrical, an internal seal failed, which resulted in the car dropping oil out the tell tail hole on gearbox, requiring a rebuild and new casing. 2014 car, I got it in 2019 with 13k miles, now on 26k miles. Car is back now, all fixed and running great, bill was just shy of 8k GBP, not a nice surprise bill but could of been worse and I have had car four years trouble free.

@@fullbolt-onsss1130 had a few 911’s and the Turbo S is bonkers fast but I’ve had more fun watching paint dry, the 458 is a total riot and event to drive.
