- The former Bay State Correctional Center in Norfolk was decommissioned as a prison back in 2015, but soon the facility will turn into temporary housing for homeless and migrant families.
“We’ve been told it’s a combination of many residents, as well as Haitians, it really doesn’t matter,” said Jim Lehan who serves as the Chairman for Norfolk’s Select Board. “But they are homeless families and they are coming here to be phased into permanent housing.”

I think this is a brilliant idea. If they're going to do it then the town needs to get supported by the state. I think it would work if that happens. And it makes a lot more sense than leaving a building empty permanently that's ridiculous.

It's wonderful to house those less fortunate. There is no reason to object helping other citizens. We have an obligation as humans to share and lift up our fellow beings. If it was used as a prison and good enough for your community then, how can anyone deny the homeless?
