The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same failed things and expecting a different result. I'm studying, getting certifications and building my code portfolio so that I am ready when hiring picks up again. In the mean time an auto repair shop near me wants me to come work for them. It's time to get handy with a multimeter and ODB software.

I remember about ten years ago, a story on how robots couldn't fold towels. Not at all. The latest I know, that's still true. Jobs worth pursuing are the ones where you use your hands manipulating, folding, soldering, shaping or anything sufficiently complex (for a robot) or non-repetitive.

De-humanization program well under way. Happy to be in my 70s and not deal with s**t. Feeling bad for the younger workers-hoping they can ultimately force some change in this system.

One issue with AI is it will replace highly skilled smart people jobs unlike thchnologies in the past. The car replaced horse and buggie jobe, but also created engineers, mechanics, and manufacturers. This will be interesting because the smartest people in the room will not be human and the smart people might become irreverent... Interesting times are coming

Neo-feudalism. I started to theoretize on that topic about 4-5 years ago. So far we head in that way. So: the reach with multiple properties and assets will be on the top of the chain to the levels we never seen. The rest will be either living on benefits (Basic Income) or fighting for most basic jobs to get a little bit more scraps. Only well-connected or attractive people will be able to climb the ladder.

I think it is a great thing but the growing pains will be very difficult. Agi is already here and withing 2 years it will be cheap enough for anyone to have access to. Just like the car took over horse and biggie jobs AI will take over lots of jobs and this these jobs will be not just low skilled jobs, but high skilled jobs. It will be a mess but on the other side we will be much better.

@ imo it’s a bad thing. Most progress from the last 50years was used to make us poorer and sader.

AI has ruined the job market and networking

This trend doesn’t seem to benefit job seekers OR employers. When you’re receiving hundreds of applications, many ghost written by AI, it’s even harder and more time consuming to identify the candidates who would actually be a good fit. This leads employers to turn to AI to sort through the applications. It looks like a total breakdown of the process to me. I think this will lead back to referrals aka social connections being more important than ever as the online job application market becomes less and less useful to both job seekers or employers.

Depends on how its used. You can use AI to write or edit your resumes or cover letters. Additionally, you can use it to help with assessments and exams for job's.

That's just making an infinite loop of bots talking to bots. All it is doing is creating more spam, which doesn't help anyone.

That's where the future is headed, whether you want it or not. You have to fight fire with fire. But do whatever you want lol, just sharing what it can do.

Would you make videos where you share your experiences in tech and programming? For example, what are the most common myths, lies and scams found inside and outside the industry?

Bad implementation of AI makes creates friction right now. Trust that these kinks will be worked out.
Remember the first cars - you basically needed an engineering degree to operate them. Now every half blind granny gets to renew her license. Be patient. 'Call Center Employee' will be a dead category and so on ...

Two AIs walk into a bar. One AI says to the other AI, “aren’t you the one at the helm?”. The other AI replies, “I thought you were at the helm”
