I was struggling with capstone Elias on my first run as rogue at level 60, died about 20 times, and then I got a drop with an aspect that gives me 300 heal per second if I have full stack momentum, I decided to give it a try and basically changed my whole build around it. And then I went back in, face-tanked Elias the whole fight and did it in one try, barely even had to move. Adjusting your build can make a huge difference sometimes.
Blew my mind when someone said the little armor potion gives more ele res in all categories than a specific ele res potion. Been hording Iron skin ever since haha
I collected all the renown and went straight to try world tier 4. It was around level 62. You don't have to worry about getting there, especially on softcore. And after got to torment, I just geared up by leeching at helltides.
Don't even need to leech. Go back down to nightmare, do helltide and get enough for the mystery chest, then log out and log back into torment. Open chests and profit.
Ancestral items drop less when you are below 70. I went to WT4 on a lvl 61 rogue. Did helltide and opened 4 mystery chest. Got 2 ancestral items. This method is just not worth it. Either you can farm WT4 efficiently or not.
I did it with my friend using wudi’s dash+shadow step build at level 62. My 61 necro friend just kept dying because of lack of mobility and I kinda soloed it towards the end lol
thanks for sharing! so during the transition phase - I also find it effective to farm 350+ abhorrent cinders in helltide (in nightmare) then switch to torment for the 175 turn-ins. ofc eventually just farming torment is easier -- but it's just for that transitionary point where you aren't quite stronk enough
@@vitus9864ope, cinders stay between tiers. Only problem with that approach is that, in my experience, there are just way fewer people doing WT3, who can help especially with events.
Also my first thing to do on torment below lvl 70 was Legion Events. That was the first thing to do after capstone. I was 65. And i got all my 4 weaps upgrade from there (i play barb). The events go fast, take little time, and drop a lot of yellows, and there are enough ancestrals. And while i was crunching numbers, enchanting and applying aspects on items, the next legion event was up.
It's crazy how many people doesn't realize how big of an impact level difference between you and mobs has - because it changes defense effectiveness for both sides. Your defenses lose effectiveness due to underlevel and monsters gain defense effectiveness due to overlevel. That's why pushing NM dungeons gets absurdly difficult, not because mobs get stronger at higher level - which they do a little but as much as impact of the level difference.
@@TheWormChad just the test it yourself on your own skin by opening 20 levels higher NM dungeon, and then check in 20 levels with the same amount of armor. You'll be surprised how of a sudden you barely take any damage with the same stats while previously everything was 1 shotting you.
@@TheWormChadan I find the actual source? No. But blizz has stated this in multiple dev talks on their defensive stat orientation that armor has reduced efficiency against higher level mobs. The game even goes so far as to state "against mobs your level" but absolutely for details look through the dev talks.
Thank you for the tip Wudijo. I used it to help my character beat Elias which opened up T4. The armor is now 400 instead of 900 since patch 1.1.0. It was 400 when I used it but it helped.
fire and lightning resistances when you get to the elias fight help a great deal. pop a potion for one and maybe an inscense or some gems on the jewelry for the other and youll be taking a lot less damage from his attacks
Just got through to Tier IV yesterday at level 62. Now I want to do Helltides for gear. Dangerous solo but hard to group up in this game. I'll get there.
Lvl 60 solo rogue, went okay in lvl 3 capstone dungeon until meeting Elias...numerous 1 shot deaths, couldn't defeat him so guess I'm not ready 😞, I really want to defeat him solo rather than enlisting help from higher level characters. Well, back to the grind I guess.
I did it at level 66 i thought it was going to be harder than it was the only enemy threat were the exploding fallen enemies had to bait them to explode;)).
Just did this capstone at level 53 with my sorcerer (ice shards build) yesterday, died a lot during the boss fight but it is possible to solo him if you know the mechanics well. It helps to sub flameshield into one of your enchantment slots!
@@edvaedan9161 there's a lot to do for sure. But I find same level content to be too easy, I can just facetank the bosses and won't die. It's more exciting to play versus enemies that actually hurt you because it's more engaging - you will start to play in a different way and pay more attention. Maybe not for everyone but I enjoy that.
@@quintensteffens1942 @edvaedan9161 I also just cleared solo this last night as a 58 sorc (arc-lash). I got some lucky drops in my first 2 nightmare dungeons. For my 3rd dungeon I crafted a 16-20 to see how it would feel. I could have done it blindfolded. I tried the capstone because farming NM16-20 for 6 more levels felt like it was going to be a slog. Also, because of my lucky drops, I had nearly perfect gear. The chances of me getting a useful drop in wt3 was pretty low.
@@zureai I like farming the capstones for xp and higher end drops for the world tier before completing it. Guaranteed Level 50 and 70 mobs is nice to plan around for leveling
I think to fix risistences they should just buff the sorcs resistance making it make up for its lack of armor and have the other classes get resistance from potions because to be honest rolling an item with a resistance to a certain affix is soooo situational and completely based on what enemies you’re fighting so i think it just makes way more sense for that stat to be tied to only potions
im at level 61 shadow rogue and damage is not a problem against 75ish elites or bosses but they can still one shot me so. elixir is pretty useful but the most important investing on paragon armors with glyphs give rare or magic node buffs to them etc. that makes a difference if u know what to do with glyph synergies
Do the dungeons instead, much easier, if done together with all the waypoints, map discoveries and etc, you barely have to do more than 10/zone, and some of the side quests only take a couple minutes - sometimes faster than dungeons.
A much more fun way to approach renown is just look at the dungeons that are for whispers, and complete any that you havent yet. Every two dungeons will get you a reward cache so it feels much better IMO
@@calvinwilson3617 Yeah, agreed double dipping is king, I've pretty much only done whispers when they contributed towards renown, pretty much got 20+ dungeons/zone that way.
I'm in WT4 relatively comfortably, I can melt bosses in seconds, mob clearing is no problem, I'm still a bit squishy but no issue with how quick things die. The CC like everyone is talking about is insane though and in some NM dungeons, Some combinations of Elites will absolutely crush me, like suppressor and Electric Plyon or whatever its called? Holy hell, its a game of footsie's to burst those packs down, tedious.
I have noticed that many youtubers are using two core skills in the build. I assume the second one is for single target? If so, which one is the best for bosses?
The brown circles on Elias were the biggest issue for me. All of them oneshoted and were almost invisible. But I had standard Barb elixir instead of iron skin so maybe that's why.
Perfect timing on this video. I just killed Elias as a 55 twist in blades, poison trap rogue on an alt and I wanted to run around and get ancestral gear but I guess I’ll farm five more levels before moving up to four world tier 4.
what is your roation with dash an shadow step? like when do u use it? i currently run death trap, dash and shadow with flurry an posion imu, can u just use one or both is a mandatory thing with aoe an st?
As a melee Rogue I hate those Succubus and Shamans standing far away in a circle around me, even in open world. Traps are not big enough to pull them in.
I did my t4 capstone at 55 with my first rogue. It was when i swapped to death trap tb and was having lots of fun. A few wipes on elias, it was challenging but fun. Doing stuff close to my lvl feels way too easy and boring imo. Its why i pref doing nmds 10-20 lvls above me usually

I really hate the level scaling. I died last Friday with my lvl 56 rogue on wt1 to a elite. I had so much damage reduction rolls on every possible item possible, 4500+ armor, 1700+ life and still got one shotted. Skulls in my jewelry and 0.45% obedience aspect. I just wanted to chill and get my renown complete for the paragon points....
@@TickerSymbolYOU DR does NOT have any diminishing returns. if it says it reduces damage by x %, it reduces damage by that % no matter how much DR you have stacked, and your effective health will increase by the same %, or in some cases, even more, no matter how much DR is stacked.
First time the game challenged my ice shard sorc. I didn't have the elixir but did craft a weaker one + changed my build. Odd how the scale is in this game...Either to easy or to hard. I bet if I come back at 65 instead of 60 it would be way easy as well.
world tier 4 is not difficult but I'm a druid and I tank all damage don't be intimidated just go for it... the sooner the better because they reward much better gear tier 3 has very little value beyond level 50
w3 opens you a helltides, which lets you farm some of the mentioned potions, get massive gear upgrades for capstone and also quite good experience. ofc w3 is not a place where you wanna stay its more or less intro to w4
I'm guessing they increased the world tier 4 starting level from 70 to 75 for the season then? It was quite the shock when I did the capstone dungeon with zero problems on lvl 58 and now every single monster including overworld ones was lvl 75.. I mean my barb is absurdly tanky and could handle it, but it's still rough. Especially since Death Blow doesn't hit elites/champions hard enough, it only gets bonus against bosses, so high HP elites take FOREVER to kill... it's handy against boss ngl, I got jumped by lvl 75 Butcher as lvl 61 and managed to kill him in 2 beefed up Death Blows, but if my barb wasn't so damn tanky I wouldn't survive those 20 seconds for the next vulnerable window. (I really do hope they change Death Blow to elites and up and not just bosses... 1-2shotting a boss but taking 3 minutes to whittle down an elite is downright embarrassing, and makes running nightmare dungeons for glyph levels and XP a massive pain)
it took me 3 weeks to get all ubers and max lvl 100. then i spen the next 2 weeks getting another whole set of gear for tier 100 vaults. nothing left to do i have maxed everything on rogue. all items found all max affixes perf rolls all ubers. and its like im not doing it all over agian the point of seasons is the END GAME CONTENT and there is none u get to lvl 100 and ur done lmao i feel like im gonna trun into a troll lol my life for the horde and the troll says d4 sucks so bad atm.

Torment is not that really different than Adventure. You can get ancestral gear and that’s it. Most of the events in this tier will give you the same as tier 2 tier 3. The world boss loot box will be lock until lvl 80 to open. Sometimes if you don’t do enough damage and the boss die too fast, there is none box for you. Don’t push the progression, just follow you game style.
I hope someone figures out how much armour we need to soft cap it or when to stop using Aspect of Disobedience. It's the little things like this that I am clueless on. I mean at the moment I've made my own Rogue build and on WT4 even on the level 90 world bosses when I'm only level 70~ I can just face tank them. Actually I even sat in Uber Lilith for a while and took a couple of her hits so I question if I've gone too tanky and if I should pick up some more damage perks now. Though I have no issue killing stuff either. WT4 just seems easy.
i hate how the drops decrease to the bare minimum once you get to world tier 4... why? i "salvage" all my "blue", "regular", and "legendary" items for resources and then i sell all my "yellow" items for gold. but once you get to world tier 4 it PRIMARILY only drops yellow and legendary items... meaning i have nothing to salvage for resources. why decrease the drop rate when you get to the harder level difficulty? shit makes no sense as i need to resources for crafting all my "WORLD TIER 4" NEW ITEMS! lol
It would be nice if all of these elixirs didn't require crushed beast bones...or if that material was more common. It's the only thing I don't have hundreds of >_>

For casual players, in contrast to professional players such as you, doing the Torment capstone at anything below level 70 is impossible.

Doing the capstone at 60 (softcore, numerous deaths!) for the first time was a really fun challenge.
Me (Druid 59) and my Sorc friend (64) we managed to get him to 20% but we had to take break.
But next day we killed him already, fun fight ;-)

you can also use 2 incense, levels 1 and 2 to stack armor and life respectively for even more ease

On Necromancer on all builds I have tried the capstone dungeons are very easy. Definitely doable at least 8 levels early.

Yes if u are regular diablo noob like me, u need change REGULAR PVe build and a bit of luck for dodging those waves of ELIAS:).

I died there lot of times too were quite low, around L62 or so. Later on tried with my friend we were L65-68, again died in fire at 20%.

my biggest problem with elias were the adds, when he summons succubi and they hit you you get vulnerable and they themselves do tons of damage.
its shadow damage I believe also.

damage reduction has diminishing returns. you're better off stacking offensive stats to kill things faster after a certain amount of DR.

New to this game. Do we extract the legendary power and put it into rare item? Or do we just keep grinding for gear that ancestral unique
Most of the best gear ends up being rares with great roles and an imprinted aspect

Especially since Death Blow doesn't hit elites/champions hard enough, it only gets bonus against bosses, so high HP elites take FOREVER to kill... it's handy against boss ngl, I got jumped by lvl 75 Butcher as lvl 61 and managed to kill him in 2 beefed up Death Blows, but if my barb wasn't so damn tanky I wouldn't survive those 20 seconds for the next vulnerable window. (I really do hope they change Death Blow to elites and up and not just bosses... 1-2shotting a boss but taking 3 minutes to whittle down an elite is downright embarrassing, and makes running nightmare dungeons for glyph levels and XP a massive pain)
I got to torment when I hit 63
it took me 3 weeks to get all ubers and max lvl 100. then i spen the next 2 weeks getting another whole set of gear for tier 100 vaults. nothing left to do i have maxed everything on rogue. all items found all max affixes perf rolls all ubers.
and its like im not doing it all over agian

Anyone now how to switch the numbers on in the settings that shows the stagger number's. As im seeing 1.25 stagger pop up against the boss.

Lvl 60 is best at T4 i did at 50 was a waste all items are dropped min lvl 60. 💯
Torment is not that really different than Adventure. You can get ancestral gear and that’s it. Most of the events in this tier will give you the same as tier 2 tier 3. The world boss loot box will be lock until lvl 80 to open. Sometimes if you don’t do enough damage and the boss die too fast, there is none box for you. Don’t push the progression, just follow you game style.
The grand cache is a weekly drop per boss, so up to 3 per week. That's it. Nothing to do with your own personal dps
I hope someone figures out how much armour we need to soft cap it or when to stop using Aspect of Disobedience. It's the little things like this that I am clueless on. I mean at the moment I've made my own Rogue build and on WT4 even on the level 90 world bosses when I'm only level 70~ I can just face tank them. Actually I even sat in Uber Lilith for a while and took a couple of her hits so I question if I've gone too tanky and if I should pick up some more damage perks now. Though I have no issue killing stuff either. WT4 just seems easy.
I have in craft menu 49 elixir and i dont have "iron skin" how to get it ?
i hate how the drops decrease to the bare minimum once you get to world tier 4... why? i "salvage" all my "blue", "regular", and "legendary" items for resources and then i sell all my "yellow" items for gold. but once you get to world tier 4 it PRIMARILY only drops yellow and legendary items... meaning i have nothing to salvage for resources. why decrease the drop rate when you get to the harder level difficulty? shit makes no sense as i need to resources for crafting all my "WORLD TIER 4" NEW ITEMS! lol
It would be nice if all of these elixirs didn't require crushed beast bones...or if that material was more common. It's the only thing I don't have hundreds of >_>

Druid is jusr ass for this fight, unless youve got insanely lucky, and managed to get good uniques to help with boss damage, he is a painful fight

It's supposed to be the hardest thing in the game that you grind towards - so yes you do need some of the best gear
The actual way is do be a complete dumbass and decide to do the capstone dungeon at 59 while the enemies in it are 70+ and struggle for over an hour
