Good after just been watch some of your video’s, my question I’m going to turning some Christmas ornaments and I like the finish of the Yorkshire grit but it I wanted to paint pictures on the ornaments will the Yorkshire grit rub the paint off of the ornaments or would be gentle enough. Your thoughts thanks Walter
So would the Yorkshire grit remove any paint I put them or would is seal it in.
Have you made any videos on getting a gloss finish on a bowl? I’m guessing these products would be part of that process.
We don't have any videos on a high gloss finish on a bowl. I would recommend building up a finish with Waterlox and buffing it out to a high polish, or using melamine lacquer. I'll put that idea on our video list. Thank you! -Mike
Can this be used after a finish to polish up the finish?
It can be used to refine a finish. Make sure to test it on a sample piece before using on a nice project.
So how do you strip the wax, if you want to apply a finish?
I usually give it a good wipe down with denatured alcohol, depending on the finish. -Mike
Can you say how this differs from Ack’s abrasive paste?
I haven't used Ack's, but from what I understand it is quite similar, however I'm not sure if Ack's is food safe.
@@CraftSuppliesUSA Yes I believe it is food safe.
Is it food grade.
Here is the info we have straight from EWT: "The ingredients in Yorkshire Grit are food safe but we do not advertise as such. The main reason is that YG is a sanding product, not a finish. We recommend sealing your project with food safe sealer such as Mahoney’s Oil."
Acks paste is better. Made in America! Try it. American made! Period! Beach, NC
I'll have to take a look, thank you for the suggestion! -Mike
