- Опубліковано 31 тра 2024
- Learn how to turn a bowl from wood that is not quite dry, but isn't so wet that it needs to dry for months. Mike shows how to rough out a partially seasoned walnut blank, dry it in a matter of weeks, then turns a bowl from start to finish.

Walnut is the king of North American hardwood... Great job
Exceptional tutorial on the way to use the tools correctly. Enjoy the program very much.
I like this guy.
Excellent video,thanks for sharing,cheers Colin.
I really enjoy your long videos. I learn so much . More on the horizon?
Absolutely beautiful bowl. I love the shape and how you integrated the bottom foot into the bowl shape...and talk about that wood!!!! Wow! Thanks for such an informative video.
Excellent presentation / tutorial.😶
Really enjoy watching these long videos! Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do! -Mike 😊
I really enjoyed seeing your great and complete demonstration. And besides, as a French speaker, your language, although a little too fast for me , is quite understandable. 😉👍
Excellent instructional video
Excellent video and gorgeous bowl Mike!
Beautiful bowl 👏👏
Nicely Done, beautiful bowl !
Exceptional! Absolutely love that piece! I hope i will be able to do one myself some day :)
Very informative. Thank you.
Gorgeous indeed. Thank you x
Hi Mike,
You have many good turning videos posted. Something that frustrates me is many turner’s videos… and yours never say what the grind angles are for the tools used in the demo. Each spindle or bowl gouge (and size) can be different… as well as the scrapers. Please say what your grind angles are for the tools in your videos.
Mike, why Mylands instead of GOAT wax? Beautiful bowl. Thank you for taking time to explain as you go along.
Just mixing things up to show the use of different finishes.
Ótimo trabalho , o primeiro do ano. Bahia Brasil.
Why are you worried about damaging the wood fibres where your foot/tennon will be?
😊❤😂😊😊😊
Why wouldn’t you use “tree saver” to slow drying?
On this particular bowl I wanted to go from partially seasoned to dry in 1-2 weeks. Normally I would coat these with Tree Saver and give them a month or so to dry with a much lower risk of them splitting/cracking while drying. -Mike
Is this turner left handed?
Yes, I'm left handed. -Mike 😊
Nice tutorial... but man that bottom is just way too big!
Please wear a dust mask in order to protect your lungs!
muss man da jedesmal ein Abendfüllendes Video raus machen?
