Great fun when you don't need to match them. Is there still a craft supplies in the uk. We visited one a few times back in the 80s in the county of Derbyshire when we took our children on holidays there. My friend ordered everything from them and i still have a couple chisels frrom them. Thanks for all these great videos.
I’m just starting out. And I’d like to begin making some spinner tops. What tools would I need? I have a great set of carbide, a high speed bowl gouge, and a scraper. Hurricane tools
Tops are great beginning projects! For a question like this, it's best to converse over the phone instead of UA-cam comments. Give us a call at 1-800-551-8876 and we'd be happy to help you out.
It really just depends on how the hard the wood is. Usually small projects don't require much sharpening, but you'll always get the best results with sharp tools. Here's a video on how to sharpen tools if you're interested. ua-cam.com/video/j__h45sQErg/v-deo.html
Using Lignum Vitae for a top was a dagger through my heart. Did Kirk turn these tops or was it Mike? Nice camera work on tool presentation and finesse. Really enjoyed this one 👍
Redheart, Lignum vitae, and Hickory -- In that order. For tools, it looked like a 3/8ths spindle gouge, diamond parting tool, and skew chisel. (Grinds and size I'm not sure) Also, those may be Robbert Sorbey texture tools, I'm not sure. Overall it looks done with a chuck and simple tools only.

I'm not sure if Craft Supplies UK is still around. We're not associated with them, but we do ship internationally.

Very Good. What kind of wood, bits, etc did you use?

What Lathe is being used?
Alexander Moore looks like powermatic. Probably the 3520c.
It’s the Powermatic 3520C. Here’s a video on it if you want to know more about it. ua-cam.com/video/yLrq9o6aj4w/v-deo.html
