Honestly the story criticism doesn't even count imo. It's not a movie, it's not a book or a short story. It's a fairy tail. It doesn't need a typical structure or character development. I've heard people complain about snow white being too naïve, but that *is* her role in this. Great video! :)
Fun fact: I watched a video that mentioned female protagonists in Disney receive a lot of scrutiny because female protagonists in animated films are so rare; in Disney's CGI era alone, they have more female leads than any other animation company.
It is a movie & the story works quite well. The criticism arises from the fact that Snow White was made in 1937 & the morality of the character doesn’t sit well with modern audiences. That’s their problem.
I love Snow White! Sadly her movie gets a lot of unfair criticism mainly on its story and character beats. There Will Be Fudd made an excellent video defending Snow White if anyone is interested, and the movie’s revolutionary impact on the animated film industry is just the tip of the iceberg.
I really hope the live-action Snow White takes note from Cinderella (2015): keep the focus on the protagonist and flesh out the prince. Plus it'd be nice to see the queen and her mirror more.
Snow White was my favorite Disney movie when I was little and is still held near and dear to my heart. I can’t explain the love and nostalgia I have for this film
I remember being about five years old watching Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs on a theatrical rerelease. I loved it from beginning to end. As an adult, it is my favorite Disney animated film. It turns on the phrase “Simplicity is a virtue.” By committing to the idea of All Good Snow White and All Evil Queen/Hag, Walt Disney gives us the extremes of comfort and fear honed to fine edges.
I see this film as more of a piece of art than a movie, personally. It's culturally significant and historically relevant but it is a bit boring to watch for me.
This film was may favorite when I was 6 years old. Cut fitting that it was Disney's very first full length future film an I'm positive that a lot of our seniors would agree since this was also there first Disney film.
I only wish this film had less of the tidying up filler and more of the darker parts that were supposed to be put in, like the Prince getting captured and imprisoned in the Queen's scary dungeon, the Wicked Witch stumbling back to her castle after falling off the cliff, only to die in a fire in her castle started by the Hunter while the Mirror looks on and laughs after the Witch pathetically asks him who's the fairest.
I don't remember anything about the writers coming up with a concept of the Queen dying in a fire. I remember something in a disney comic about the huntsman lighting the Queen's laboratory on fire, but the Queen survives in that comic.
Question how many of you have played the Donkey Kong games follow up Question wouldn't it be crazy if Disney made a Snow White game where Snow White gets captured by a giant ape who throws barrels and wears a tie
I love Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs don't get me wrong it is one of my favorite childhood films from Disney. But I could never get over how Snow White was 14 years old during the movie while Prince Florian was 31 years old. That is a 17 year difference that makes me very uncomfortable because he not only kissed her without her consent, but he looked at her after she had woken up and thought: "Yeah. I'm gonna make her my wife." She was a literal child!
Well, according to a record book about the movie, "apparently" snow white is 14 while the prince is 16, which there is a 2 year gap... But still... Just wanted to clarify some things.
You shouldn't see it so literally imo. This isn't your standard movie, the prince isn't a character. He is a story tool and the same goes basically for snow white. That's cause the origin story is a fairy tail. The characters or story aren't fancy, it's a very simple that has a moral at the end. That's all a fairy tail needs to be. And yes, by modern standards you wouldn't have a prince kiss a corpse, but this fairy tail exists basically as long as humanity, so honestly I don't think this argument really works here. Something made me curious though, where did it say that the prince was 31 and snow white 14? I can't imagine that being part of a fairy tail, or did Disney happily announce that? Seriously I wanna know if thats true, i won't take a comment as source
@@heyimagirl329 yea turns out it's all false rumors lmao. Disney never announced that, but it's on dozen ranking and fan websites without actual source

Well, snow white is the youngest Disney princess so I don't blame her naivete

I completely forgot that snow white was actually so savage towards the drawrfs 🤣

I really like your point about the movie being a fairy tale come to life - it really does make me think of it a lot differently.
This film was may favorite when I was 6 years old. Cut fitting that it was Disney's very first full length future film an I'm positive that a lot of our seniors would agree since this was also there first Disney film.
snow white is an angel of childhood if you didnt see it then you didnt had a childhood XD
Is you favorite Disney Princess, Snow White ?
Snow White is an amazing movie the first Disney movie I ever saw
besides, they already made a live action version of snow white. Which got a sequel.
And a prequel movie about the evil queen

Can you do The lion king

You really need to cover the prince of egypt
I love the movie
But it’s kinda creepy when you realise Snow White is 14 and The prince is in his mid 30s
Am i the only one who hasnt see the original Snow White but only see the live action ones despite being 13 years old?
