It seems to happen when I ALT-TAB out of the Game to use DIM (Destiny Item Manager) in Chrome, then ALT-TAB to return to the game. I also UNDERCLOCKED my MSI RTX 2080 Super by -500MHz. I started at -300, then -400MHz, then finally -500MHz. I was able to play Destiny 2 for about 3 hours without any crashes. My PC doesn't crash. Only Destiny 2 was crashing for me. I was tempted to ALT-TAB to use DIM but I refrained. Also, I didn't watch videos while playing Destiny 2, that's still ALT-TAB-ing. Don't Do It. Continuing to test this weekend. This may or may not work for everyone. But it may help some.

I'm still having trouble unfortunately. I was having a blast last on iron banner the week of 3/21/2023. Then there was an update patch. And everything got stutter stepish. I also had performed an update to my Intel graphics driver and NVIDIA released an update to their driver 3/23/2023. The raid was so laggy that I had literal frame freeze for half the time running around trying not to die, etc. I did it. But I felt largely like dead weight when in used to being the carry. I'm currently trying the complete uninstall of destiny, running all the steps, reinstalling destiny... I hope this works.

I tested this today while doing Patrols in Cosmodrome, Blind Well in Dreaming City, Multiple Strikes for Bounties, HELM Bounties and Battlegrounds Playlist.
This is a very good tip... i actually used to get a lot of issues when i ALT+TAB and now i try my hardest no to do it which seems to keep the game running smoothly! Thanks dude! Another great tip 👍
hloy duck, thank you sooooo much man. the first selution fixed everything i swear to god you are a legend.
Ive been trying to fix this crap for hella long time and searching on the internet didnt help at all.
🤣🤣🤣 very glad it worked for you my friend 💪👍
I literally don't know what to do anymore. I have Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 and I don't have any cache options in 3D menu. I don't even have half of the options you have, is it my cardsfault? Does anyone else have the this problem? :(
Watched the first vid about this, and will try this now. Been having this issue since Beyond Light launched. Hope this works!
🤞 fingers crossed
IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM! THANKS MAN! I've been trying out different things from the cvars solution to tweaking the settings, but none of them worked. Been at it for weeks!
Excellent! All it took was a simple shader cache refresh 🤣
Worked! Thank you very much, turns out all I had to do was update my drivers to the latest version 🤦🏻
I wish it were that simple for me.. I’ve tried literally hundreds of fixes and all my games are still stuttering even though I have a high end PC... I fucking wanna kill myself
Good to hear
Step 3 was my solution. So glad i clicked on this video!
🙂💪
Hey I tried this and it worked for one day. Getting 120fps. I logged into destiny today and my frames dropped back down to 15-30 I don’t want to have to uninstall and reinstall destiny every day
damn man thats a shame! Have you tried just to reset the shader cache without uninstalling Destiny?
I dont have shader cache in my nvidia control panel and i have no idea why
When I typed that adress into the Windows searchbar there was nothing? Like I didn't have those files?
Check the description, there is a new address as they changed the location 👍
i dont have a shader file in nivida control
Did fix 1 with my old crusty 960, went into crucible and threw a grenade at someone and i didnt lag out for 3 seconds. Game is now as playable as before thank god
:) not thank god... thank me 🤣🤣🤣 in all seriousness i'm very glad my dude 💪 enjoy
i have 960 and getting around 30 50 fps is that ok?
So far it looks like the first version of this fix worked for me. SO FAR. I'm exceptionally wary on whether it really worked for me. I HOPE it worked.
I hope so too 🤞
@@FreddtorOfficial At the very least, it fixed a problem that I had in another game where it'd randomly minimize on me after 10 minutes or so of playing.
My problem just got fixed. Just simply do a total recovery with your PC and it might help solve the low FPS issue. At least that was my case. I guess it is something wrong with either the windows update or the NVIDIA driver update because literally every time I updated my driver the situation got even worse. Hopefully, it helps.
Thanks for the tip 👍
you deserve a mil subs this workks thanks man cant wait to get back into destiny
Thanks man 🙂 maybe one day who knows 🤣 i'm glad it helped 💪
Starts at 2:00 I have no idea why there was a full 2 minutes of uncesseary dialogue
Hmm, sorry, it was just to put some context and info into it
How do I choose custom installation?!?!
nvrmind I got it thank you
do i turn the shader cache back on after i do the first method?
should be on automatically but check it and if not just turn it on
@@FreddtorOfficial thank you
Ehh yo fam this fix works, jsut installed this game yesterday as i am looking into this game but i was stuttering like hell. I thought my old I5 4460 and 1050ti werent on par but with this video i was going all in 60 fps in high settings were as it is before, it was lagging even on low.
Im glad it sorted it 💪
Fix 2 got rid of my FPS drops, thank you so much!
Thats great man :) Go enjoy a buttery smooth Destiny 😂
GeForce Experience Stuck at uninstalling driver for 10 mins, have to restart with the whole driver missing and using intel's integrated graphics to go to Nvidia official website and manually reinstall driver, not as risk free as he said
Im using a core2 quad pc to play destiny 2 and im doing anything to least have 50fps on pvp. Thanks man!
well i hope the Video helped my friend 💪
Im using a ryzen 5 3450u and I cant lock to 50 fps.
Appreciate the video but neither of the fixes proposed helped me. Still randomly dropping to 10-20 FPS even at the lowest graphical settings and 60 render scaling. I don’t get it. My specs are at recommended level.
Same here. It's literally unplayable.
i am so glad i found this i have had this problem ever since beyond light came out, i have cried because i have been so late to the release and the grind but i really hope this works.
I truly hope it does work for you my friend🤞... it has worked for many others and myself too
@@FreddtorOfficial yeah i have had crashes all the time and only for destiny, not cold war, not cyberpunk only this bipolar game
🤣 BIPOLAR GAME 🤣 that cracked me up... but yeah... same happened to me! and i have NEVER had any other problems with ANY other game
@@FreddtorOfficial well it worked thats a sub and a like
😊 glad it worked my friend 💪
After disabling the Shader Cache, rebooting, re-installing driver (custom), performing disc cleanup, I went back to re-enable "Shader Cache Size" but it was already set to "Driver Default" rather than disabled
Destiny runs like a dream now bro lol. thanks so much!!
No worries dude 🙂 glad it helped 💪
yep this is the video. it fixed Destiny 2 stuttering issues for me that started creeping into the game, from using "FIX NUMBER 1". thanks buddy you a legend
No worries dude, glad it worked 😊
@@FreddtorOfficial lol i dont like many videos on youtube but yours got a like for sure. :)
@@ObSoLeeT666 Thanks 😊 Its truly apreciated 💪
@@FreddtorOfficial you are welcome bud, keep up the great work
Out of all the fix it videos I've ever watched for any pc game related stuff, this is the first one that's gone and bloody done it!
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
ahahahah 🤣🤣 Thats awesome!! I'm glad i could help 💪
You’re a lifesaver man. Thank you so much!
Don’t mind me. You just earned a sub.
Awesome stuff 😊 and thanks for the sub 💪
@@FreddtorOfficial no problem man, thank you! I just got into PC gaming and thought the PC just wasn’t working well. I was wrong.
PCs can sometimes be annoying like that 😂 but you'll have a blast on the PC!!
Holy shit I think it worked for Lost Ark! ty so much
I did this and it didn’t help however it considerably lowered the color in both my monitors… help
I got really lost at the disc clean up and didn’t know what to do
It didn't improve my performance by a lot, but I think it did help since I did increase my graphic quality after following the video, so it must of done something...
Thanks so much, out of all the tweaks I've made this made a big difference. Can recommend to try this fix. Didn't uninstall destiny though, no need. On Steam you can check the game files are good without uninstall. Cheers mate 👍
Thats excellent :)
I'm still having trouble unfortunately. I was having a blast last on iron banner the week of 3/21/2023. Then there was an update patch. And everything got stutter stepish. I also had performed an update to my Intel graphics driver and NVIDIA released an update to their driver 3/23/2023. And it's been horrid since. 3v3 is tolerable, but I lose frames and it's hard to track at times.
The raid was so laggy that I had literal frame freeze for half the time running around trying not to die, etc. I did it. But I felt largely like dead weight when in used to being the carry.
I'm currently trying the complete uninstall of destiny, running all the steps, reinstalling destiny...
I hope this works.
Hey thanks for the info. The first step actually worked for me.
No shader cache only size.
I have te same
My friend can you help? I reseted cache shader on amd radeon and my game now stutters and lost half of my fps. Will things go back to normal? What should i do? For now ill try what i see in this video but please tell me what to do
My shader cache is automatically turned on straight after i do the clean disk part??? Is that normal
Yea its ok 😂 just make sure its on before you start playing... but usually itll turn itself back on once you update drivers
@@FreddtorOfficial Cheers! Had me spazzed for a second thinking I never turned it off! Runs smooth as silk! 🤩
@@sandbag44 Thats awesome :)
I don’t even have a shader cache option in nvidia control panel, only shader cache size.
yea theyve changed it, just select disable
@@FreddtorOfficial Thanks
Anyone else get much better fps in window mode? The colors are better and the fps and performance is so much better. I'm very new to pc and have no idea what I'm doing
if it helps you then thats great but usually fullscreen will give you the best performance on a PC
i dont have shader cache, but i have a thing called shader cache size and it lets me choose a size or disable. but it doesnt have a on/off
disable
disable
Than you so much ! RTX 3080 1440 @ 144fps ! i was 60-80... before
Lovely 😊 Great to hear 👍
Help under 3D manage settings Inhave shader cache size instead of just shaded cache option
Disable it 👍
i only have shader cache size not shader cache in the nvidia control panel
Thats what they call it now, you just need to disable it instead of turning it off
Thanks my dude this worked for me. Greatly appreciate it.
No worries man :) Glad it helped 💪
bro, its working. thanks from aonther human :)
fix nya jalan guys, terpercaya.
Glad it worked :)
I don’t know why, But after that fix my fps drops are even worse
I subbed this really fixed my destiny thank you!
Thank you SO much for the sub 😊 and i'm very glad it worked 💪
i wanted to tell you something. i play battlefield 4 like in june 2020, and there is no single stuttering in campaign and multiplayer. but after i factory reset twice due to slow performance, now i got stuttering even after the first time i factory reset it. i assuming this is the directx since in june 2020 i can play battlefield 4 completely fine and not my cpu nor gpu
i already deleted directx cache and it still there, i use directx12 version. any clue? i would really appreciate if you reply me or sent me a website that are connected with my problem ;w;
edit: i use amd gpu
Hmm... Strange... If it was working fine why did you reset it in the first place? What was wrong with the performance? Also, sometimes game patches/updates can trigger these issues
@@FreddtorOfficial due to low storage and really really slow performance, thats the reason i factory reset it twice. but now i assuming this is the windows 10 fault, yesterday ive done some tweaks with the windows 10 and it came back to normal. yeah normal, no stuttering in bf4 anymore. anyway thanks for the video ;w;
@@imade7075 dude hello, if you don't mind please can you tell us what, windows tweaks exactly did you try?
@@lt9115 follow this video ua-cam.com/video/7XnMc3haf0k/v-deo.html
if the stuttering still persist, the only way to fix (for me) is type "power" in search bar, click "edit power plan", if you dont have "high performance" yet, click "create a power plan" then create it, after you have created it click "change plan settings", click "change advanced power settings", scroll down and then click "processor power management", if you are on laptop set the "on battery = 5%" and "plugged in = 85%" on "minimum processor state", and set the "on battery = 100%" and "plugged in 95%" on "maximum processor state", click apply then ok and exit from "edit plan settings" and you are done. it fixed for me with csgo
im not finding NV_cache in nvidia corporation folder
I don't have the shader cache setting in my Nvidia control panel at all, i only have shader cache size :(
Yea, just disable while going through the steps
@@FreddtorOfficial ok
Hey so i did the 1st method bu i ran into a problem i think? so after doing everything step by step after doing the disk clean up I went into my 3d settings but there was no SHader Cashe option anymore the only shader cashe option was Shader-Cashe-Size
yes, it now shows as shader cache size, you just disable it
@@FreddtorOfficial Tysm for answering so quick I originally put it on uncapped do I need to re do everything now ?
@@arian9747 i would think so,
