    Some troubleshooting tips bc everyone’s system is different:
    #1 If you are getting something like an “error occurred while updating Destiny 2 (app running)” or game won’t boot, try NOT running D2 as an admin.
    Apparently for some, Steam gets a bit temperamental when running games as an administrator. Could be because Steam isn’t itself running as Admin too.
    #2 If you Alt-Tab and it takes multiple seconds on a black screen to transition, try going back into Steam Settings inside the "Interface" menu & re-enabling GPU accelerated rendering & smooth scrolling
    also consider re-enabling “Full Screen Optimizations” in the D2 file properties to resolve this issue, especially if running Windows 11
    #3 I'm going to go ahead and say leave SMT Control on in the Bios. I was getting some weird freezing happening after exiting Destiny 2 that I believe has stopped since re-enabling SMT Control in the Bios (I’ll update again)
    #4 Ensure "Prefer Maximum Performance" is selected for the "Power Management Mode" in the "Global Settings" tab of the "Manage 3D Settings" menu of the NVIDIA Control Panel
    #5 With the most recent NVIIDIA Driver updates, the Shader Cache has been moved from individual program 3D settings to only show up in the Global 3D settings of the NVIDIA Control Panel. I changed my Shader Cache Size in the Global Settings to 5GB, but experiment yourself & see what works best for you. Ideally, you want it large enough to ensure steady, consistent frame numbers in-game, while not taxing your free space on whatever drive the Shader Cache is stored on
    #6 When you update your NVIDIA video drivers, I'd ensure your Global & Program-specific 3D settings are the way they were prior to updating AND if you use the MSI Utility per my above instructions, you will have to run it again as an administrator & ensure your video card is set to "High" Priority, as updating my video driver reset it to "Undefined"
    * Made a video with most of this info as well: ua-cam.com/video/SmsoaZKISAU/v-deo.html *
    Thanks, everyone, & good luck!

    probably the only destiny 2 low-end guide worth the 20 minutes, not something that'll waste your time or make you put 2 options in and it "improves" yet you have a low view count and subs, you are the only one i'll be going too since this increased my fps extremely well, and seeing how you interact with your viewers in the comments shows that you have a strong future on this platform, good luck!

    While editing cvars you can change your key binds to be more efficient than what the game itself will allow. For example, I use “Shift” for Sprint & Interaction so I have better movement on the revive in Trials & Elimination. I also use “C” to crouch and in air ability now that I’ve started playing on my Warlock. The keys you use are personal preference but if you can get more out of one key without it causing any unwanted actions in game - This will now allow you to have more keys available that are super close to WASD which could give a slight advantage.

    Nice overview. PSA - If you did this before Witch Queen was released, check your settings again, most major updates set this back to default (mine did).
    Also changing high DPI overrides isn't really needed if playing at 1080p. If playing on a resolution higher than that then go for it.
    Finally the Low Latency Mode option '2' = Nvidia Reflex plus boost, I'd recommend trying that if running Nvidia hardware. Turn it off '0' if running AMD. There was a lot of noise around this back in beyond light but it seems to work these days.

    • @illPhysics
      @illPhysics  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t know but I have heard from some to keep VSync on in the control panel. I can’t stand behind it, but there may be some niche situation where you wanna keep it on. I know stuttering can come from settings to do with the Shader Cache (check pinned comment). Otherwise, I’d play with those options and do what works best for your machine.

    • @illPhysics
      @illPhysics  2 роки тому

      It’s not as big of a deal if the drive that it’s installed on is also an SSD. I can understand if folks don’t want to uninstall and reinstall on C for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is limited space on the C drive. More important that it's NOT installed on an old spin drive, but if on SSD, you're not looking at any difference worth worrying about.

    This is really good, but I have one small comment. Regarding your windows mouse sens, you should set that to the same number you use in game for consistency. D2 (and many other games) use the standard windows calculations, so regardless of the DPI you're on, if you use 5 sens in game, then go to the 5th tick on the windows slider. Being consistent and building that muscle memory even when you're not playing will help a lot in the long run.

    • @Maferty
      @Maferty 2 роки тому +3

      I'd assume D2 on same SSD as Windows (conceptually), but #1, that's purely speculation and differences in rigs & specs could theoretically influence that stuff as well & #2, the difference in speeds between those two options is likely negligible in most cases
      TLDR as long as nothing's on a spin drive, I wouldn't be overly concerned unless you really wanna dig into it yourself & spend some time & effort

    So I followed half of the guide up until the D2 video settings. When I tried to launch D2, I got the popup that destiny 2 wanted to make changes to my device. I clicked yes. Then I got a popup that said an error occured while updating destiny 2. I just pressed ok, as this normally pops up all the time. However, my game still wasn't launching. I decided to open up my task manager and see if my application was closing over and over again by myself, which it was. So my ape brain decided it might work if I spam clicked the app, but all that happened was this bell sound that kept ringing over and over again. The game still won't open for me. I followed the guide perfectly so I don't know what the problem is.

      No. It will fluctuate depending upon the level of details being rendered usually. 240 is difficult for most machines to maintain in D2 in my experience. Not a bad idea to limit frames to like 180-200 as you might be able to get that consistently on a high end machine

      Yeah, when Bungie first introduced the Low Latency feature in CVARS it was a mess that hit FPS pretty hard. However, I admit, beyond the FPS issues I’ve seen early on with it, the rest is speculation from me at this point.
