No voice re-recordings is AMAZING!!! I would like to know if Kojima gets paid for this in any way. Either way…Kojima my guy I love your work so much I need to play this. Experience that crazy vision in the Unreal 5 engine, let’s go baby
If there's a Konami remake I want to be good it's silent hill 2 and if it is I will gladly buy it at launch just not pre ordering because of the red flags with it
I agree with ff7r. It was a painfully average cringe fest that I still haven't finished. It was criminal what sqaure-enix did with their classic masterpiece.
The ONLY thing that really worries me about Delta, is that in their effort to keep everything 1:1 (even transitional loading screens in a 2024 which is goofy) the game balance will, ironically, not be kept 1:1. And that would be disastrous. Digital Foundry actually asked Okamura about this (they were the only ones to do that, strangely enough) and he said that "enemy behavior will be adjusted to kind of accomodate for that". Remember: one of The Twin Snakes' greatest sins was keeping the levels exactly 1:1 while giving Snake all the abilities he has in MGS2 (free aiming, hanging, etc.). I truly hope that we don't get yet another TTS situation where the game is comically easy even on higher difficulties. Throwing this out there too, I wouldn't mind some entirely *optional* zones here and there, such as the missable zone where you get the M63 (the zone is located right before The End's arena if you don't remember where it is. It's the zone with the little wooden outpost and it's entirely missable and optional). That way, purists can choose to just... not go there.
This is a great and very valid take. From my perspective, there are so many difficulty modes that you can make it as hard or as easy as you like. MGS games arent particularly hard IMO once you figure them out, which is part of the charm. Not including stuff like sniping a kerotan from the back of a motorcycle, of course. That said, it sounds like you’ve played a ton of MGS3 and I salute you 🫡🐍
@@UptownBobbiyes I'm an MGS3 junkie who bought this game no less than 5 times over the years, latest one being on Steam last year. Probably finished the game over 80-90 times at this point so I appreciate that they're at least considering the impact a new moveset on Snake will have on enemies and bosses alike. I salute you too, good sir 🐍
Keep an eye on the Trails in the Sky remake since you're a JRPG fan. Personally think the OG is just fine, but I know some people are turned off by it's art style.
it’s jus got that weird over-rendered, first gen psp look to it, even Zero and Azure have it. New style looks great, I think. I’m on Cold Steel 1 rn. The series is a suuuuuper slow burner but worth it imo
I was hoping that mgs3 would actually make changes and additions. Not like ff7 tho. God no, but more like re4r or dead space I feel there's a golden opportunity here to expand on the game with its future entries in mind narratively. As well as taking a lot of ideas kojima had for this game but couldn't due to limitations and try to implement them And there's a lot a lot of good opportunities to maybe fix some of the kojimaisms in this game and maybe do more of an mgs5 approach to story telling. There's a lot that they could've done with this and still make it fantastic
The issue is that MGS -is- Hideo Kojima. Without him, it’s not the same at all. Try any of the MGS games he didn’t work on - not even close to the same. He is integral (heh) to the series. They know they can’t recreate his magic so they’re making a smart decision. The other remakes you mentioned all included people who had worked on the originals in some capacity, if I’m not mistaken. And besides RE4 is *not* MGS3 when it comes to story, minute details, sense of humor, etc. I love it but they’re way different because MGS is infused with Kojima. This was a smart decision. Let’s get ONE hyper faithful remake here and see how we feel.
@@UptownBobbi "MGS is hideo kojima" is actually why i don't want any new entries in the main series Id be happy if platinum made another rising game tho (starring grey fox) But for a remake I'd honestly be fine with a new take on the game. Mostly cause we still have the original and it's easily accessible and hasn't aged much. It's not like ff7 or re4 to where the games have aged to varying degrees. Or dead space where future entries have made vast improvements making the original age in comparison. I feel it would still be possible to make good changes and additions that still stay true. I don't really want a hyper faithful remake. If that's how every remake should go then we wouldn't get RE1R, 2R, and dead space. Hell mikami originally set out to do that with RE1R. But realized it's just the same game again and decided to make some changes and additions so it would stand out from the original.
@@Z-Mikes00 you had me at “starring grey fox.” That being said - I was under the impression the new MGS collection is 30fps even on ps5, which would suggest that no, it’s not possible to play without getting a ps2 or 3, but if that’s not the case and they’re 60fps on ps5 Please tell me because I’ll buy them immediately.
@@UptownBobbi the new collection is locked to 30 on switch ONLY! Mgs3 and 2 run at 60 on every other platform. However mgs1 is a rather lackluster emulation. It's passable, but could be a lot better. The 8 bit games have no issues.
Oki doki so 1 hey Pete good to see ya 2 I actually think you would like black myth wukong because it's a action rpg with a max currently of 102 bosses but I flew through the story and then went to ng+ but overall so far so good and 3 it's about fucking time I think the only other remake remaster game we got that was this good in attention to detail with the original was kingdoms of amalur re-reckoning it was pretty much the original game but the remaster came with all the original dlc a d even released a new one that worked very well with the main story and it's a after story it's kinda like if fable was made by tod McFarlane and was intended to be a mmo that got turned into a single player rpg
If they are reusing the original voice lines and sound track that suggests to me none of the original cast and crew getting paid. This isn't the place to have the ethics of that but it is relevant because you get what you pay for. My confidence in the remake has gone way down
Alas poor Concord we knew ye well. NOT. Good fucking riddance. Get your ass in that pile, right next to Dustborn. I can't wait till we move out of this BS era of gaming. Then again "AAA" has been a lost cause for a decade now, if not longer, so meh. Has hell frozen over or something? MGS3 Remake might actually deliver?! Oh god I don't know if I could deal with that. Given how much I detest current Konami having to say something good about them would just be weird at this point. Here's hoping though. Here's fucking hoping. On a side note I too am not playing Wu Kong. I generally don't dip into the new games much these days. Money is kinda tight so I have to make my purchases carefully. Instead I have been playing far too much Once Human. Not sure if you'd like that game G given that you're more of a boomer shooter guy but it might be worth checking out. v0v
@@DEGREELESSNESS Once Human is more Love Craft/SCP than it is survival horror. It's like if Control and Fallout 4 had a baby and Palworld did the baby sitting on the weekend.
