    My favourite McCartney song since 2000. It was never going to be a chart buster but it is a delightful song.
    It was funny hanging on to the moon heading into the sun. What a great lyric.

    • @garychambers5850
      @garychambers5850 3 роки тому +1

      I don't think he counted on this song being a chart buster. If you listen to the radio now a days, Theres no Paul Mccartney or anyone from his Era!
      It's all horrible top 40 Garbage! LOL. I listen to and Oldies Station in Long Island. Its great, They play 60s-80's, although I kind like 50's as well.
      But I'll turn on the radio and "_Day Tripper_ " would be on, Or " _My Sweet Lord_ ", " _Band on the Run_ ", " _Imagine_ ", " _Back off Boogaloo_ ".. They play great stuff like this.
      Without a doubt, if Paul released " _I Want to Come Home_ " in the 1970's.. with Linda singing backup, *BAM* ... a # 1 song! 🚶🏽‍♂️🚶🏽‍♂️🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽‍♂️

    Sometimes we all get the feeling that we are witnesses to an unparalleled beauty, none of which has ever been seen by the world nor will ever be seen again. This is when you know it’s magic and must be beheld in its purest form to be appreciated as a gift to everyone that enjoys it. But, as with everything endangered, care must be given for it’s protection. It takes courage to share your heart and innermost thoughts with the world. With love & gratitude for your music and everything you do. xo

Could it be bigger than The Beatles?) and he started out okay but a lot of his stuff today is just plain too commercial. And that’s WITH him playing the drums, which gives it a great groove track - it’s still too commercial. I think without another co-writer, we’re only gonna GET his side of things.

      John Lennon is the most relevant songwriter ever PAUL MOSTLY WROTE SILLY SONGS JOHN LENNON WROTE REAL SONGS

    • @2DanTube
      @2DanTube 3 роки тому +2

      @@TheMrpatches557 And "Helter Skelter" gave birth to Heavy Metal - what song did John write that gave birth to an entirely new genre of music? And the other thing I noticed was that in the early solo careers - both John and George were successful for a few years - and I could swear - I can hear a strong McCartney bass influence in their early solo work - and as both John and George careers both began to fizzle - I also noticed the server lack in the good bass lines and riffs of the past.
      Now I will give "Image" a good two thumbs up - but I can not remember a song being so soft, silly, and sentimental - as if John and his malcontent jealously of Paul were ready to concede to the soft rock decay. And how much softer can "Woman" get or "Number 9 Dream." Very very soft and silly - if you ask me - yet Paul remained polite and complimentary of his past band buddies.
      I do recall Paul having the first post Beatle song getting banded from a lot of radio stations in a lot of countries - when his hard-rocking "Hi - Hi - Hi" hit the charts - and a lot of folks missed the lyrics of "Juniors Farm," and I will always love the rocking out song that Paul only released the live version of "The Mess." Now that was REAL rock and roll.
      And it didn't stop there - "Helen Wheels" - "Long Leather Coat" and I'll never forget "Girl's School" and a giant favorite - "Live and Let Die." How many times has that song been covered and charted - at least once - and what song of John's (hard-rocking efforts) has ever been covered and charted.
      Now - with that said, "Instant Karma" was a great song - but it too was a dig at Paul - that never dug deep - but then the lazy streak hit John after that - didn't hear much out of John. And - I really thought after the break-up that John was really going to astound us with hard-rocking innovations - considering how he proclaimed that the Beatles were a mediocre band at best - and in a rut - John's such discontent and outright public disdain for Paul - I mean - I thought John was about to unleash the creative dragon of his and Yoko's collaboration - but hell Queen did more for rock and roll than John ever seemed to want to get off his lazy ass and prove the Beatles were a mediocre band - as he had proclaimed - I waited and waited - and I hate to say it but John let me down.
      Whereas Paul at least remained loyal to the Beatle fans.
      After the Beatles were questioned in regard to the Manson Family murders - and the reported influence of "Helter Skelter" - Paul among close friends - had considered, "did we go too far." And it would be 30 years before Paul performed "Helter Skelter" live. A human side to the fellow - that took a lot of rationalizing to realize - it was not his fault that a crazy guy to the song the wrong way - but noticed Manson had died in prison before Paul would perform it live.
      I'll never forgive what Mark Chapman did - cause I think if John would have lived - we would eventually see him surrender his malcontent jealously of Paul - and realized that the great success of his band - hinged on those mega-hits that Paul wrote.
      John was good - I like his songs - Paul was productive positive and yes while silly at times - that Paul rocked out a lot more than given credit.
      John had the critics believing he was not silly - but at the end of the day - John never impressed the fans - as Paul did.
      Not so much about the money - as it is - that the fans love Paul - and Paul loves the fans - and in the End the - that love you make is equal to the love you take.
      And as for John - "he took his lucky break - and broke it in two."
      So sad that the final measure runs down to the person whose malcontent behavior - caught up to him.
      Oh well - we each pick our favorites and Paul to me continues to remain the most relevant songwriter of my generation - he works hard and doesn't have to - the guy just loves what he is doing. John did not seem to have that kind of ethic - I wish he had - but John was John - and I would have loved for this conversation to go equally for them both - I will forever be a Beatle fan - but without the Beatles - sorry - silly Paul WINS.

    There are rumors that Paul recorded a couple of more songs around this time, with Geoff Emerick as an engineer. I never understood if this is true, and if the songs are out there somewhere. Would love to hear them!
