Superbly played, Joseph. If only more liturgical organists spent time learning to play hymns to such a high standard...... In years gone by I was a 'Friend of Hereford Cathedral'. If you don't know it, it is a beautiful building situated on the banks of the River Wye, near the England/Wales border - and its Willis organ is truly magnificent. All good wishes, Peter A :) :) :)
Peter, Thank you for such beautiful words. Very encouraging!! I wish to play at these famous cathedrals one day. It has always been my challenge to play liturgically and I am glad my practice is yielding fruits. Thank you. Best wishes!!!
@@josephlittle-organist Dear Joseph. You're welcome. Believe me, I cannot think of a single church here in the UK which would not welcome you with open arms to play for a service, and maybe play a recital (I note you are a concert organist) too. I do hope you that one day will realise your ambitions and play at some of our wonderful cathedrals and enjoy their organs. May I ask where your video was recorded? Best as always, Peter A :) :) :)
I love the sound of this beautiful hymn. I heard it for the first time, watching the queens funeral I believe. Or one of the commonwealth services. I love hearing them sing with the organ. We don’t have a lot of that here in the states. Only a few churches have full orchestras and the organ. My church doesn’t really anymore either. I love music. Currently I’m working on learning to play the piano better. I play totally by ear and am practicing more to enhance it. My mom played by ear as well and we played together quite often. She passed unexpectedly a year ago. My grandma and her dad and a person from generations before them had the gift as well. It’s been very special to me that I was chosen to inherit the gift. I hope I can make them proud by taking some lessons and playing more. I noticed as you were playing, you were not really looking at the music. Do you play by ear or did you memorize this one? You certainly play beautifully.
Yes. Glorifying the Master with that. I worship with this music.

Great!
The video was recorded at the Showroom of Olive Organs, a Church Organ making company in Ghana. They use the Hauptwerk software.
@@josephlittle-organistI hope your wish to play on the wonderful organs in England's churches is fulfilled. You're very talented.
