- Her Majesty the late Queen in addition to requesting this hymn also said words to this effect, "I wish I could be alive at the return of Christ, so I could lay my crown before Him." What a sentiment, What an ambition, and what a Queen! RIP

In confidence and hope, let us pray to the Father in the words our Saviour taught us,
OUR Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
Amen.
All stand to sing
THE HYMN
0:48 1 LOVE divine, all loves excelling,
joy of heaven, to earth come down,
fix in us thy humble dwelling,
all thy faithful mercies crown.
Jesu, thou art all compassion,
pure unbounded love thou art;
visit us with thy salvation,
enter every trembling heart.
2:14 Come, almighty to deliver,
let us all thy life receive;
suddenly return, and never,
never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
serve thee as thy hosts above,
pray, and praise thee, without ceasing,
glory in thy perfect love.
3:23 Finish then thy new creation,
pure and spotless let us be;
let us see thy great salvation,
perfectly restored in thee,
changed from glory into glory
till in heaven we take our place,
till we cast our crowns before thee,
lost in wonder, love, and praise!
Blaenwern Charles Wesley (1707-88)
William Rowlands (1860-1937)
arranged by James O’Donnell
I’m American raised Presbyterian and my mother was pipe organist at our church. I know this song well. At the end, is what is called a descant, it’s an added higher pitch usually soprano, that is sung in between other normal notes. In choir, it was my most favorite thing to sing. It is absolutely ethereal. Since we are so beneath Heaven’s glory, we must need to be changed to enter it’s majesty or we could not in human form, endure it. Glorious.🕊🌹
You'll have to admit, the Methodists have the best Hymns!
@@DelticRon I love Methodists, very similar to ours! Her older sister was Methodist and played the organ for her church in Griffin, GA. I have two of my moms hymnals, one has a lot of missing pages where the book wouldn’t stay open so she would tear out the page 😄 so it would lay flat. Later they got her one with ring binders still, she preferred flat. Because with an organ she had two keyboards, foot pedals, plus stops, all kinds of sound pulls, she had to turn pages fast!
I was so young when she started I don’t think I truly appreciated her skills until after she passed. I have her music … good memory.☺️🙋🏻♀️
Can you please tell the title of this song?
@@idesignestudios Love Divine, all Loves Excelling.
Thank you for your explanation of descant. I first noticed that when listening to a version of Abide With Me (which I am sorry the Queen hadn't selected for her funeral).
I thought this hymn was absolutely mind-blowing today.
I camped out over night on Parliament Square. I often think back to the scene during this hymn. It was such a moment. Two women in the crowd were singing a harmony over the singing that was coming from the Abbey & was being broadcast on speakers above us. We were all standing in what is usually one of the busiest parts of London, in perfect silence, listening to this moving hymn. I think we were all just trying to grasp the enormity of what had happened - one of our greatest ever monarchs had passed away. It was really beautiful.
‘Till we cast our crowns before Thee, lost in wonder, love and praise.
Queen Elizabeth was so based! Nothing was going to stop her from putting on a Christian example even after death.
The music and words of the hymns chosen by Her Majesty for her own funeral and committal service were beautiful and were from all corners of her United Kingdom. Listening to the words, Her Majesty tells us that life moves on, nothing lasts forever, we leave this world as we arrived and all crowns and kingdoms eventually come to an end apart for the Kingdom of Heaven. Our beloved Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's passing leaves a massive hole in hearts all around the world, she may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. May God's angels keep her safe for eternity.
The glorious hymns of Charles Wesley bring new depth to even such a profound service.
Absolutely magnificent. Beautifully sung by the choir of Westminster Abbey as only they do.
A fitting send off to our most high & mighty Monarch The late Queen Elizabeth II.
May Her Majesty
Rest In Eternal Peace.
🇬🇧👑🇬🇧✝️🙏🏼🕊.
The trumpets moved me absolutely
I was tearing up during this hymn today, what was spoken during the service was very moving too.
Rest in the Lords love and presence forevermore Queen Elisabeth, Thankyou for your service
The Archbishop of Canterbury gave one of the best sermon.
The best ever. Those who serve will be loved and remembered, while those who kling to Power and privileges will be long forgotten.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were amazing, what well behaved children.
Mind blowing absolutely mind blowing - what a hymn what a service - thank you to everyone.
-The Queen used her power to shield Prince Andrew from justice
@@JohnnyDeppIsRacist what justice? It was a civil trial. If his accuser wanted justice she had the option of trial. But she took.the money lol
OMG! Goosebumps all over me especially on that descant verse, Unreal!
I have been searching the whole internet world this Hymn, thank you, thank you!
Been crying hard when I heard this during the Queen's funeral ...absolutely speak to my soul!
Glad you were able to find it Flyfly
This hymn has been a favourite of my family for years. Sung at so many weddings. A wonderful hymn of praise.
There are at least 3 different tunes for this hymn--all of them great.
That descant and the rich harmonic movement at the end...just stunning.
What a hymn writter Charles Wesley was
The best hymns are Wesley songs.
The Queen's Royal Military Forces are top notch. Considering this was a first Sovereign Funeral for 70 yrs, everyone involved did such a wonderful job. 🙏💜🌌
I so agree. A wonderful job and what a tribute to our late Majesty.
A befitting burial for our own dear Queen Elizabeth RIP.
I’m having this hymn sung at my wedding in May, in this arrangement with brass and pipe organ. Such a beautiful and moving piece.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I am sure the guests will enjoy singing this song.
@@spiritdei thank you. We are also including “Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer” and “Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven.” I’m Episcopalian (the American branch of the Church of England), so it will be a very traditional “high church” wedding. Seeing the Queen’s funeral made me proud to be Episcopalian.
@@DrunkLuna Keep us posted. So happy you are using those lovely songs!
What a fitting tribute. My best wishes to you and your spouse to be on a blessed long happy marriage. Pax+
My sister had this hymn at her wedding, it’s from the book of Timothy, the words are so moving and fitting for any occasion.
Congratulations on your wedding, hope you both have a lovely day.
This clip HAS to be heard in Surround Sound with subwoofers at all four corners. Truly an experience! Love when the horns kick in and the voices soar (descant).
Omg! What a glorious hymn. Soul lifting. The Queen picked nothing but the best hymn for her funeral. May she RIP.
A wonderful hymn by Wesley that speaks of the wonder and greatness of God in our salvation. May this be so for the Queen. The way it was orchestrated for this service with the incredible descant and majestic trumpets in the final really is a foretaste of heaven for all those who believe in Christ
I so agree. May our late Majesty rest in peace and rise in Glory.

Beautiful hymn, beautiful words.
I think you'll find the original English version is "Pure and spotless let us be"... That's what we sing in the UK...
@@shuttergirlUK that's what we also sing in the Island with a totally different island tune and vibe. Old hymns are uplifting
Thanks for sharing the lyrics
Great hymn Thank you your majesty for your service to ur people and God save the King from your loyal subjects in Northern Ireland

A beautiful Methodist hymn penned by Charles Wesley.
My best too very inspirational hymns
What a Christian hero
Wesley was not Methodist - he was an Anglican.
This was a beautiful funeral service
The last verse of that is sublime. Magnificent.
What a beautiful and wonderful melody - I have sung it on so many conferences and gatherings before! Today I realized how much I miss the english hymns ...
Timeless Hymn, beautiful people rest well my beautiful queen till we meet at the resurrection.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇭🇬🇭
beautiful hymn. Makes me tear up.
The part where the trumpets join the organ was so very beautiful and moving, and added a touch of majesty to the arrangement. ❤❤❤❤
Trumpets and organs go together both wonderful instruments that reach HIM above with praise and honor and our Love.
PAX to all who Love HIM Believe in HIM and will defend HIM to the last drop of our blood. Pax+
I was also impressed by the congregational singing .
Well done our beautiful royal family , an absolutely stunning send off for our queen , may god bless you all ❤❤❤
I included this hymn and the others used in Her Majesty's Funeral and committal service at the church I play for the Sunday after her services
John Wesley and Charles Wesley the methodist♥️♥️
I welled up at this beautiful hymn, bringing together temporal and eternal glory so beautifully over our nation
As a cradle Methodist, this Charles Wesley hymn is one of my favorites. I have really become fond of this musical setting. The singing here is what heaven will be like: “til we cast our crowns before Thee, lost in wonder, love, and praise”.
My Mother was a Methodist with a wonderful voice, loved to sing the Wesley songs. The best of all hymns.
You are a hero for posting this
@TheToughBaby Thank you for your comment. I broke the service up into sections to make for easy listening. I'm glad it worked.
Extremely moving and magnificent. God bless the Queen RIP.
Priceless. Timeless. 💕
The Descant is Breathtaking. The Queen really deserved this beautiful Service. World will never quite be the same without her steadfast presence.
This is THE best this country has to offer here, the best hymn by our foremost hymn writer, sung to the best tune in our finest church. A fitting tribute to HM the Queen. Absolutely fabulous!
Beautiful 💜🇬🇧🌹
Blaenwern - one of the sweetest hymn tunes I’ve ever heard and by far one of my favorites. And from Wales, with love 🏴 ✝️
Is gorgeous
So uplifting. So divine. Thank you Father God for giving us such a wonderful hymn to praise you
Absolutely phenomenal hymn. Changed from glory to glory..
lovely hymns
Her late Majesty said that her funeral should be short and not bore people (or God!). As usual she got it right! May she rest in peace and rise in Glory!
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
I am an Episcopalian, we are from Henry the 8th breaking away from the church at that time. All of these hymn make my heart sing.
One of my favourite hymns. I want it sung on my funeral
Charles Wesley one of the greatest Britons ever
Me too
The last scene pointing the crown touched my mind with soul lifting voice deep inside the heart says:- 'what do I leave behind, when I pass away'
God rest your majesty. The one true Queen.

Absolutely magnificent, so emotional and heartbreaking. God Bless our beautiful late Queen. 🙏🙏🙏💞💞💞🌸🌸🦋
Wow!
Im austrian. I heard that Song at the queens funeral. I never heard a Song morebeutiful. For her , but also for me to grow.
Can’t beat a good Welsh hymn tune
Blaenwern is a Welsh Christian hymn tune composed by William Penfro Rowlands (1860-1937), during the Welsh revival of 1904-1905. It was first published in Henry H. Jones' Cân a Moliant (1915).
The tune is named after Blaenwern Farm near Tufton, Pembrokeshire, where Rowlands sent his son from Porth to stay with friends of the family to convalesce as it was thought the fresh air would assist his recovery: he named the tune in honour of them.
Love this beautiful music!
God save the Queen 👑🙏
The United Kingdom is truly a great great nation… with the most beautiful national anthem in the world.
Proud of you Princess Ann 💯
Amen
Such a beautiful Welsh hymn.
“Blaenwern”
When it comes to music and singing the Welsh are right up there.
@@jeffthomas2364 I would have said that but being a Welshman too….😉
3:42 - There's something quite incredible about this shot, the fact that the leaders of almost every country on earth came to pay homage; almost as if, in some way, the world united for 90 minutes.
No one could have claimed more respect from the world than Queen Elizabeth II: this shot proves this.
Catholic, Indonesia. 🙏🙏🙏
It's so sad there are so many Scandals, Gossips about the Royal Family via social media. May the soul of HRH rest in peace. Lady Diana too. She has been dead so long ago and yet scandal after scandal about her which is all in the past keeps re surfacing. May Lady Diana rest in peace too
なんと美しい曲。

🥺
4:14 that chord
Very dissonant, but well-managed dissonance!
Is there any way to reload this video in 5.1 Surround (now that UA-cam finally supports it)?
I would love to but I almost lost the channel for posting and even this may be taken down. Hopefully an official HQ version will be offered soon.
@@spiritdei Thanks for your reply! It would be nice if the funeral was released on Blu-ray!
Our Christian Queen.
Does anyone on this site know where we could find these beautiful words, sung to this tune?
Hi the words are posted within in the comments and in the description. Blessings!
A popular alternate tune of this hymn is “Hyfrydol.”
Please, I need the name of the hymn., I love it so much and have been searching for it
Does anyone know, which setting this is, and where one can get it?
The hymn tune here is called Blaenwern - written in 1905 by a Welsh school-teacher and composer William Rowlands. Original words by Charles Wesley.
The descant was written by Christopher Robinson, who I believe is still alive today.

Song Love Devine 0:48
Was there a stray minor 7th note in parts of the last verse, including the final bar - maybe an overtone on one of the bass organ notes - or is it my computer sound card not being up to the job?
The sound is sadly very compressed on UA-cam and even more so in this upload. I heard this live and all I can say the sound in 5.4 was amazing.
@@viciouspoodle5543 Thanks for the clarification.
@@littlecloudsong7601 This has MUCH better sound quality and no bass distortion as you had noted: ua-cam.com/video/CQ5tA-2atkw/v-deo.html (I asked them to reload it in 5.1 SURROUND now that UA-cam supports it).😁

Absolutely
偉大なELIZABETH女王と称賛されますが「犠牲に成ったDIANA妃等色々有り」私は疑問が有ります「何故」??????
Do some research, Diana by her own admission was no victim and played a very cunning game. I loved Diana as much as the rest of the world but she was the first to admit she was not innocent in any of the war of the Wales’s.
Good she is gone.
Thankfully hateful people like you are in the minority!
what do you achieve in saying that?
Sad person - I feel sorry for you.
Calvin Jones, how many do you think will be at your funeral when the time comes!?. You really are a sad excuse for a human being!!.
What good?
