Thanks so much for being so transparent with your route, it’s so nice to follow along on a map and be better prepared for planning my own trips. I always enjoy your watching your videos 😁
Good to see another inspirational spring trip... That jelly was weird....It took me a few tries to find my way through Sunfish, hard to navigate sometimes....I was thinking the same, that Calumet would be all yours.....
Hey Jay! Sunfish can be a nightmare to find the start of the channel when the water is low for sure. For Calumet it turns out we would have had the lake to ourselves, the guy that was there got super sick the day before and was unable to travel so he took a rest day. I was going to offer to help him portage out the next day but he was gone super early before we woke up.
Hey man, we ended up having pretty good weather most of the trip, 1 really rainy day and the occasional small showers here and there but really can’t complain!
Wow those were some huge fallfish/chubbs and suckers 😅, and a shame you lost that big one at the boat!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip 👍
This is such a great shot: ua-cam.com/video/l4pmcvD-6UQ/v-deo.html I've been thinking about getting an Amok hammock. Is it the most comfortable hammock you've ever had?
The Amok is pretty great honestly, fantastic sleep back, side, stomach… all good. Best of all is the amount of open space inside… nothing squeezing in on you at all. Has a couple downsides, getting in and out isn’t as smooth and easy as gathered end hammocks (it’s not hard when your used to it but still not as smooth getting back into your shoes), sides are very cold if your arms go off pad ( I bring reflectix for this) and it’s bulkier/heavier than a gathered end. Very comfortable sleep for sure.

Looks like great weather so far. Hopefully, the rain stays away for you guys!

Better than catching nothing but certainly not what i was targeting hehe, hopefully 1 week for rest of the trip, 2 if I'm lazy.
Another nice Spring trip. Gotta love that portage into Luckless.
Definitely had a good time, cant wait for the next one!
How are things?, Jonathan~ how well trip,see ya~ 👏
How long did the 2k portage take yall?
Looking at the timestamps on the clips, the 2.8KM from Nipissing to Luckless lake took us 1 hour and 5 minutes.
Jelly blobs are colonies of freshwater bryozoan pectinattella magnifica.
Wow thanks for the comment, I would never have figured out what this was... just looked it up and that sure matches what we saw!

@@jmullinThanks! sounds pretty good. Guess I'll just have to decide to get the regular or splurge a bit more for the ultralight.
