@chefntoast i absolutely agree, and I would say that there's no way there's a whole 10% better than Jay. He has better match IQ, reaction time, and flexibility, but overall skill even 5% is a world of difference at the highest levels.
I was sad until Jay showed up and then I realized this would be an amazing episode. Thanks men.

Jay's weight cutting story is fucking hilarious. Lack of strength training knowledge is crazy though guys - reach out to Dr. Mike Israetel I'm sure he'll work with you. He rolls and has a PhD in sport physiology and body builds, guy's a beast.
Have you seen him rolling? He is pretty bad, and has no cardio. Also he bleeds steroids. I wouldn't trust anything he says.

Just to comment on the lifting, training to failure all the time is very unsustainable and causes far too much fatigue, training submaximally but still progressing load, reps, etc is where its at, then periodizing up to those high effort/ close to fialure sessions for PRs and what not

I think Damien Anderson is making a bad life choice. Hes ranked in the top 15 in Ethan's weigh class. I think he will earn more money in jiu jitsu. The likelihood of being an MMA star is very small. Unless he thinks he can beat volk or islam I just don't see the point.

@@HonkletonDonkleton yeah your right volk is old. He's not fighting for ufc or anything. Even people in the ufc get only 20 thousand or even less. I just think jiu jitsu is growing and he's still ranked. I guess now being Co owners in a gym he saves money on camps and if he gets into the ufc his brand recognition will mean something. I didn't mean that he doesn't have the skill. The stars just have to align and I wouldn't choose MMA if I didn't think I could be the best but in jiu jitsu he could definitely be the best at his weight.
His aggressive grappling is perfect for MMA and he has heavy hands. I see him being a force to be reckoned with in the UFC or Bellator - dont forget he is younger than the top contenders now so he also may age out Islam but I think a seasoned MMA Damien can beat Volk for sure.
