When I watch masters work I can tell by the way they move , use their tools, speak about their work , and by the finished product that they know their $hIt . I have dealt with armchair warriors but the people trying to tell this guy how to lay down the leather are true ARMCHAIR warriors !!!😁😁😁 Great work !

Man, you make this look so easy. 😆. I love the experience part to the past comments. What you do is a lost art. Today it's cheap covers and so on. Not many can appreciate what it is you do. I worked at a new car Lincoln- Mercury dealer right out of high school. I was fascinated watching the interior shop install leather interior and vinyl tops.
I don't know if you remember , but I contacted you a few months ago. I asked roughly how many " labor book" hours it was to recover seats from a 88 corvette. You responded back and I thank you for your time.
I just bought back my 1988 corvette last year. The interior was ruined by the last hurricane that came through Florida, which I live. I got the alert about your new video about corvette seats and had to watch. A 1975 would be " C 3 " corvette. Mine is a C4. I have a few more questions if you don't mind me asking.
    1) I have decided to restore my 1988 corvette back to all original. When you quote a job to recover the seats, do you make the seats or use pre made kits . then install the kit.
I.plan on buying a factory dealer set of corvette seat covers still in the box. Then have then installed. If I were to bring my seat kit to my upolster he should charge me less to install. Am I correct. Or am I missing something. What would be the price range to install the factory covers over the seat and refome the seat to be made new. I. Will be 50 in July and have never once done. Any interiors work. I learn so much from you video over video. I've learned a lot from your channel. Could you do me a favor and either say this job took me about. Xyz . I think others would like to know roughly how much time to expect when we go get out work done locally. Thank you again for sharing your tricks to the trade with us. Take care my friend. God Bless

Hello Volkswagon, Thank you so much for hanging in there with me! Wow, a lot to answer there. Prices will depend on the person doing the work, their experience, skill, location, design of the seat and materials chosen. It is really up to the customer, sometimes they might buy a seat kit then have me install it. I don't like seat kits that much because sometimes they don't fit right and I have to spend extra hours tring to make them fit. Or make them as you see here. It took me about a week to do the pair of Corvette seats. Thanks for watching!

On the 1/2 inch scrim, you say use the good stuff with quality fabric. I could not tell from the video which side of the scrim (fabric or foam) goes against the back of the leather when gluing the two pieces to each other before sewing.

I wish we would have had an instructor as skilled as you when I was learning how to do this stuff. You are an artist! One question I have is how breathable is vinyl compared to leather?
