He would benefit greatly from holding a session to clarify what he means by "Advanced Aqeedah" topics. Although he frequently uses the term, he hasn't outlined the specific arguments that fall under this category. This lack of clarity can lead others to misinterpret or selectively criticize his views, sometimes even accusing him of holding corrupted beliefs or promoting grave worship. Many people perceive Aqeedah as a straightforward, pamphlet-like summary, so without detailed explanations of these advanced topics, some may mistakenly think he is challenging core beliefs.

I’m a regular guy and I can understand he means the stuff students study at advanced levels. Anyone who has been to school knows there are differences between primary school and high school in the same subject.

If I have a 30mins, I'd introduce Dr. Yasir Qadhi to the works of ulama of Indonesia (mostly Shafi'i madzhaban, Ash'ariyah Aqidatan, & tasawwuf mostly ghazalian); medieval & modern ulama.

Shaykh May Allah bless you and protect you. You HAVE TO do some kind of written work like in a book or a series of library chats breaking down the evolution of all these aqida schools like you briefly were doing in this podcast. but BEFORE that PLEASE continue your stories of the prophets series PLEASE!!!

I really think the intelligence of Yasir was wasted on this vid. The middle guy - continously attempting to have some kind of 'controversial' convo. At least the other person had some respect on what Yasir was trying to say. At the end of the day we are all muslim & we should respect each other. Too much is happening right now to gossip, slander & say you're the bad one & I'm the right one - we need to unite as an ummah.

Dr Salman questions were confusing and kept interrupting the shaykh, at least the other presenter was dignified and asked clear questions. Really I think this was a waste of the shaykhs time. This podcast is for an academic audience not for the masses.

I wonder what in the world would differentiate b/w the 73 sects that Prophet (saw) pointed to.
All the scholars claim to be living in the end or at least near end times and literally according to this brother there isn't any one firqat u dhaal as of now, as there is nothing important to differentiate..
Secondly, He doesn't say muatazalism is correct but when earlier scholars disagree with them, he doesn't think they should be disagreed with...
Another thing, about the hadith of the prophet (saw) regarding the fazail of the first three generations has literally no value in his *Advanced Islam*...

Salafi’s Newer God who began to sit/ depend with a beginning or Older God who was not sitting/ depending with an ending, who’s the real infinite/ immutable God?
How Salafi’s Changing/ mutable God can be infinite Allah?🤔

Salafies believe in the God who’s sitting on the throne withstanding by angels, but Muslims don’t
Dependency is an impossible attribute of Allah

Regarding the “anthropology” of scholarship: I see interesting parallels between classical scholars of Islam and modern scholars of the physical sciences.
Modern science is suffering because it has become a full time career path. Many scientists stubbornly hold onto outdated and unsupported theories as a matter of survival: if they admitted their error, they would lose face and might be out of a job.
I suspect something similar happened when centres of learning and Islamic scholarship became established in the Muslim empire. Scholars were incentivised in multiple ways to establish their own distinctive brand of Islam within the broader mainstream.
Perhaps the earliest Muslim generations were not plagued by these differences simply because they were busy staying alive! Fighting on both internal and external fronts for their very existence. Once the empire was established, however, people had the time and space to question - and even overthink - issues of aqeedah and fiqh. So many aqeedah issues would be immediately resolved if people put their hands up and earnestly admitted “only Allah knows - let’s not dwell on that which was not explicitly revealed”.
Disasters like the mass takfir of tribes after the death of the Prophet sallalahu ‘alayhi wa salam, the Mongol invasion, European colonialism, and now ethnic cleansing and genocide, are strangely galvanising events that should remind us to put minor differences into their proper place.

if you can accept so much difference in tawheed like some people negating place/direction/literal body parts/limits for Allah and other people affirming these things. Then why not be lenient on the issue of Sahaba ? Even in the Sahihayn there are authentic hadith which affirm some companions are going to hell which is essentially the shia position that some companions are good and some are bad

    • @abdullahandersson132

False dichotomy, insulting the Sahaba is not a valid difference of opinion
Even if some sahaba may be punished, as a collective, Allah is pleased with them, and obviously this does not apply to the major Sahaba whom have been given blessings over us, such as the promised ten, and the Prophet pbuh commanded us not to irritate him in regards to his companions
