I like that the 38(t) is actually a Czech designed and produced tank that the Germans commandeered and used after they took over Czechoslovakia. It was a fun little tank to use in World of Tanks.
One of my favorites in WoT too. Always a favorite from the history. #8t was very reliable so they did alot with the chassis. Love all the TDs Marders and hetzer
Now that's what I call a hobby shop. It's been a long time since Ive seen a store so well stocked, and I just loved your infectious enthusiasm while walking round the store. I think I would have had a similarly hard time in choosing something to take home. Fun choice though.
I would have skipped the 38 t and gone with PZ II to go with the 3 and 4. I'm building the PZ VI-E commonly known as the Tiger I. You may want to go with the simpler 38 t for painting first. You could get bogged down in all the choices in how to finish the Merkava.
I am very glad Im not the only woman to be building 1/35 scale armor and i been doing it 40 years (my mother used to build shop displays for hobby shops to), you rock!
Thanks for promoting Hobbies Unlimited. It is the last real hobby shop in the Bay Area. Al is a great guy and is all about his customers. Exciting to see my Valentine tank on youtube 6:02
Thank you Lovely Lady for showing Us that Good Looking ,well stocked, Hobby Shop. Look forward to your future Tank builds. Nice to see a Lovely Lady enjoy building model Kits. Well as for me Its time to say Over and Out.
What a fantastic nostalgic trip back to childhood when I used to browse the model shops and dribble at the stacks and stacks of model kits, most of which I couldn't afford
I started with models when I was very young. There's probably 98% consensus in this comments section that model-making and brick-building Lego pieces are nearly parallel. I'm thrilled my time learning from people like Adam Savage and the Tested crew, This Old Tony, Xylia Foxlin, and so on has ultimately led me to this channel. It is so nice to see a fellow nerd who likes to build stuff. :)
Holy crap! I've been going to Hobbies Unlimited since they were on Hesperian in San Lorenzo!!! That places is the absolute BEST for models, paints, tools, you name it!
Love the 38(t). Looks almost like a cartoon tank next to late war tanks. A buddy of mine is big into miniatures wargaming. He has HUGE collections of miniature vehicles, in different scales, most of which he built and painted himself.
I live in NYC, which is, as another commenter pointed out, a hobby wilderness. I wish we had a hobby shop like the one you stopped in at the beginning of the video.
OMG, that was the store I grew up on. You must be channeling my soul. Same taste in in stuff. I even had dioramas in the window. Still looks the same. Thank for this flash back. I built the mark 4.
I've been watching and enjoying your channel for awhile and had no idea you were in the bay area. I'm lucky enough to live just a few miles from Hobbies Unltd. The owner Al is incredible and has given so much back to our hobby! My vote is for painting the panzer. Great video!
At one time I had purchased probably over 700-800.$ from the very same model shop the 1/35 scale military models in different brands. They are pretty nice and very knowledgeable. I'm glad to see hobby's unlimited being advertised, from my home town.
Omg for some reason I thought hobbies unlimited was gone. I used to go there more than 40 years ago. 47 to be exact. Back when most model planes were powered by cox 049 engines. And were tethered. Before radio control. The last model I built from them was a 1966 mercury comet caliente. I remember specifically because I owned a 1966 comet caliente and put in on the back window shelf of my car. Obviously you are local to me. You have a new subscriber
Jestem w ciężkim szoku. Skandal, szok, niedowierzanie... Świat się kończy. Kolejna dziewczyna zajmuje się modelarstwem... Nie chciałbym być z taką dziewczyną w związku!!! Nie chciałbym, ponieważ posklejała by mi wszystkie modele. Angela jeśli będziesz zajmowała się medelami pojazdów lub samolotów masz kolejnego obserwującego Twój kanał. Twoja mimika twarzy na iinych filmach - bezcenna ❗ Szczególnie oczy i uśmiech 😁 Serdeczne pozdrowienia 👍💪🤣🇵🇱
Personally I'm a British Churchill tank lover, but that 38(T) is a very beautiful model. Also, that shop was amazing btw! I miss when I was a kid spending hours in a similar shop here in Spain :) nice memories.
The 38T was a Czech design and a decent tank. Later in the war when obsolete the chassis was used as the base for self propelled howitzers and tank destroyers. My all time favourite is the Merkava so it would be cool to see you paint that up.
Panzer. As in some ways may seem simple. But I think with washes and so on added with give more of a challenge with it smaller size taken into account.
Oh my G! I know you from NRB blood on the clocktower, but was only peripherally aware of what you do outside of that. Now I just bought my very first gundam model, that I will build this weekend, so UA-cam has been recommending me all sorts of model videos. It was absolutely lovely to come across you again, and I knew you were a nerd, but not that you were even a model nerd! You just got so much cooler than you already were in my mind! 🤩
I'm jealous! Here where I live in South Carolina is a modeling wilderness and I have to get kits and such online. The link and length tracks in the 38t are a major improvement over the rubberband tracks in their older kits. I have two 38t's in the stash, Tristar's 1/35 with full interior and the Panda 1/16 kit.
More passing thoughts as I recall them (had your video on in the background while working). You may be able to get etched parts from other vendors. Once I get up the courage and time, I have a Nautilus kit where I bought after market etched metal, lighting, and window masking. Now, if you can keep an eye out for a 1953 1:35 Ford bus so I can add it to my MASH build... and plungers, I need like a dozen 1:35 plungers...
That C-130 in the beginning, if it's 1/48 scale, looks like the one I built decades ago. As a Marine I painted it in Marine Corps camouflage. Also did an A-6 Intruder, AH-W Cobra in USMC colors. My pride and joy was a 1/35 M543A2C 5 ton 6x6 wrecker, of course it was done in Marine Corps 4 color camouflage, kinda like the full sized one I drove and had to paint prior to an inspection. Luckily I had access to a technical manual with the patterns in it.
Panzer 38(t) was designed and built by the Skoda works in Czechoslovakia. The Germans took over the existing tanks of the Czech army and kept building them for a while. They called it the "38(t)" after the year they annexed Czechoslovakia (1938) and the "t" is for "Tschechien" which is the German name for Czechoslovakia.
... Fahrvergnügen, Angela. That is a beautiful tank! I love the muscular brutalisim of the WWII Panther. Lovely! However... I would really like to see you work-on the Merkava Mark-5. That... is a thing-of-beauty!
I think I'm in love! Awesome hobbyshop too. The Czech 38T was a great tank. Picked up and used by the German (Nazi) after the occupation of Czechoslovakia. Its was also licence built by the Swedes (STRV m/41) and the base of the amazingly competent Hetzer and Marder 3.
I built all three of those tank kits when I was younger, my favorite was the Panzer IV. Which was especially cool because it came with three crewmen to ride on the tank. Looks like she picked the least expensive, but can't blame her for that.
Let me just add the thing about that Panzer IV that drove me nuts was painting all those little wheels. Very monotonous and repetitive. Great model though, like all Tamiya products.
Great pick, the 38t was originally a chech designed and manufacture. Germany captured a few hundred when it took over Chech, and kept producing them and a modified version. In addition, this tank was famously commanded by Edwin Rommel "The Ghost" when he invaded France, it is also one of very few tanks to invade Poland, and then park on the coast of France and look over the channel to Great Britain, and then later invaded Russia. Once the tank became obsolete, they kept making the chassis and turned it into low profile tank hunters, and mobile Anti Aircraft batteries and even Self Propelled guns. It has a massive history.
Check out the followup video where I painted the 38(T)!

Paint the Merkava.
The 38t indicates a Tschechisch of 1938, ie czech.
One of my favorites in WoT too. Always a favorite from the history. #8t was very reliable so they did alot with the chassis. Love all the TDs Marders and hetzer
@@dialwright So, that's what the (t) means. Very nice.
@@slimslamfl I find that I was more eager to get my hands on the German TDs than a Tiger or Panther.

Gotta visit, you'll be looking for hours once you walk in their door!
I did not think places like that existed any more.
Wow, wow!
I am very glad Im not the only woman to be building 1/35 scale armor and i been doing it 40 years (my mother used to build shop displays for hobby shops to), you rock!
That's awesome!
I wish there was more woman scale model builders, that's just totally awesome knowing you are out there!!!
My mother used to build plastic scale model cars, especially the 1920 and 30 era cars she did a Fantastic job.
Ditto
Thanks for promoting Hobbies Unlimited. It is the last real hobby shop in the Bay Area. Al is a great guy and is all about his customers. Exciting to see my Valentine tank on youtube 6:02
Today’s glue is space-age technology compared to the Testers goopy glue I used 50-years ago.
Brilliant job, video quality, and YT channel!
Thank you!
I admit that I didn't click to see a plastic model kit being built. Neverthless, I wasn't disappointed.
😆
Shame on you
?
@@Willing_Heroldshe was over sexualizing the thumbnail and he clicked 😂😂😂
There are sites for that.... no need to show your predatory behaviour here
Paint the smaller Panzer tank! Looks fun and would be interested in seeing what color scheme you go with!
Panzergrau, lol
I used to love building models as a kid. You’ve got quite a setup
So cool to see a youtuber give some airtime to my favorite hobby shop!!!
Ikr, can't remember how many hours I and some friends just spent drooling in those shops as a kid :)

You are a very good builder. Great idea in heating the pliers to assemble the tracks on the Merkava.
Two best things in the world, super cute nerdie girl and a hobby shop!
Great to see another kit build! Nice job! I see a Panza paint comming soon!
That C-130 in the beginning, if it's 1/48 scale, looks like the one I built decades ago.

Good choice. The 38t is one of my favorites. Also love the Hobbies Unlimited shout-out!
Love that hobbyshop. I drive up from San Jose, enduring all the traffic once a month to see whats new. Waiting on the Border Models 1/35 FW 190.

My LHS! Thank you for helping get the word out for Al. This shop is the last one standing in the Bay Area.
The title of the thumbnail is what got me watching this video :)
The model nerds are interested in the history of the tank and your building and painting process. I say more of the fishnet stockings…😍
That's such a lovely model.
Tamiya is the best....
They do make stunning models
I love the model panzer 38 t the tank looks amazing nice opshions it is a keeper 💯 one to shaow off wherever you go 💜
wow what a shop and what a choice you could literally spend days in there browsing
38T for me, nice build.
Those fishnets were the highlight for me!
yep just found my new favorite channel.... this one combines everything i like in this world 😜😍😘👍
Yay! Thank you!
Panzer,with a psychedelic paint job!
I think you would have fun with the Panzer. The fading gray paint and weathering will look sharp.
I never thought of a tank as cute, until I watched "Girls und Panzer" Anime. Highly recommend it.
Yeah, I would scoop up the Bad Batch Maurader myself.
I would like to see a kitbash of the 38t for the Death Korp. Or a kitbash of the Merkava
I think I'm in love!
Awesome hobbyshop too.

I see a few airfix models on the walls
Great video,
You should try to find former Yugoslavia WWII Tanks. Now that would be a gem.
Pz 38()T, I think would be more of a challenge.
Cool! Merci.
I've been shopping here for over 20 years, back when the shop was on Hesperian. My 8 year old bought his first kit here a couple of months ago.
I lean toward panzers..just love the lines of the ww2tanks
the 38t for sure
