Love your work Chris! I’m a seasoned sports bike rider that started on dirt, now moving to ADV, really appreciate all your content, it’s made the transition so much fun and more well informed! Thank you so much! 🙏
Thanks Chris for another great advise on essentials. I learned (and got excited) a lot from your content. Would you enlighten me if skinny offroad wheels 1.85F 2.5R worth to be upgraded for pan european (TET) trip? Inclusive of long distance tarmac & technical trails? I struggle to find the best balance and cant see myself carrying both sets of rims. Big massive thanks for everything you shared
Thanks for the video. I’ve never used the Cardos. So if you’re off road riding on a trail, what is the distance between riders so that the system works? I have no idea. Thanks.
It depends greatly on the terrain. They say up to a kilometer but that’s without trees, rocks and mountains in the way. In reality it’s more line of sight. The cardo mesh system helps a lot as it daisy chains between units rather than Bluetooth to a master unit.
Hey Sir, can you upload videos of training program videos on youtube as we are not able to purchase your training course. It would be very helpful for us to learn from you sir.
Sorry Chris, completely *UNRELATED* to the great video, but I need to ask : Why do you have a comedically large cheque from Crédito Agricula (a very random Portuguese bank) on the window?? 😅
@@ChrisBirchNZ ah nice, sorry, extremely random question but I couldn't take my eyes off the thing because I recognised the name and I couldn't put the two things together 😅 cheers Chris
I hate my Cardo. It’s fine if you’re under 5pm-h, but I can’t hear it above that. The Sena is fine. I don’t understand why they don’t just put good speakers in them.
@@ChrisBirchNZ My Arai has specific cutouts for the speakers. They’re just louder and better on the Sena, but not as good as they should be. The only real solution is I ound a pair of custom molded Bluetooth earphone that last 14 hours. So I still use the Sena or Cardo when I need an intercom, which isn’t often. I just don’t know why the speakers are all such junk on all of them.
@@ryanmalone2681 I think that’s your problem. Your ears aren’t exactly where arai think they should be. With them in the right place and spaced correctly I can’t run them at full volume, I think your getting robbed 😂
Hi Chris, very fan of your videos and the say no to slow training. Question, looks like you are a tall person, do you use bar risers in your KTM 1290? What opinion do you have about it? Thanks.
Hi no I don’t run bar risers. In my opinion it makes it more comfortable to ride with poor position. I do run the rally pegs and rally seat which gives me a bit more room.
@@ChrisBirchNZ thanks Chris!! I will give a try without it. I feel the bike more nervous with the risers. Can I make another question 😁 Do you have the ktm original risers in the position is more close to you or more far? In the manual indicates you can rotate it. @@seazv I asked regarding the bar position a while back, on a Ktm just get the 0 mark bang middle of the split in the bar clamps and that is how Chris suggests having them set, and how I have mine.
Hi Chris, thank you very much for the tip for the rope! I had no idea this can be used as a winch. Saw that first time in my life :). Take care.
You are the best in the world of motorcycling, thank you for that humility and sharing all that knowledge, greetings from Costa Rica

Love your simple approach to the adventure stuff.. would love to meet you one day Chris ... Hi from Italy
Thank ya sir!
Working on my bike now and always getting ready for my next adventure!
Appreciative all you do.

Great tips Chris!...thanks!
Great tips! I love the rope winch idea
Such high level tips! Any idea what brand air pump is in that bag of tricks?
Hi Chris my question is not related to the items you discussed. I hope you will share your thoughts on, wearing or not wearing a neck brace.

Hi chris ! Great video !! What about an enduro riding day / race ? What do you carry of this ?
Great tips and presentation. So many people could have packed this info into a 30 minute video.
Hi Chris, Great video as always. How does the rope trick work? You tight it to the spokes and roll it up?
We cover it in one of tbe say not to slow videos. But basically tie it off to a cross of the spokes and then use the hub as a winch drum.
Thanks for the video. I’ve never used the Cardos. So if you’re off road riding on a trail, what is the distance between riders so that the system works? I have no idea. Thanks.

Hello, what is the model of your compressor(pomp ?) please ?
Hiya Chris
100% like n tidy… does your tool roll fit into the tail bag with rope and wet weather gear?
Yes it does

Fair question! Its from a hard enduro race called Extreme Lagares. I think I came second.

Which tire pump is that? I have one here at home but it's quite a bit bigger than that one....

They are pretty good, they last a couple of years as long as you don’t pump too much sand 😉
Chris , what model of leatherman are you using?
Leather man wave
what length of rope do you carry? 10 meter?
Yes about that
Cardo?! Absolutely not required by us hard adventures! Never bored enough!
You’d be surprised how fun it is to talk with your friends on a technical trail.

Which work great on intercoms if yours still have a 3.5 mini jack output. 👍🏻
