Now karate seems to me like a dance... now a days we can see that most of the fight time they are just playing without trying to hit. I now that karate has new rules and all this changes were a step to enter into the Olympic games (this is what i think) i respect the competitors for their effort but in my opinion the essence of the real karate mustn't be lose As the real fights that every single moment was a punch, kick, or takedown and you see your opponent as an enemy and not a friend who you just want to play in the fight.... i respect all the competitors, all the rules, and all the federations. This is just my opinion in my point of view
Julio Peña The longer the fighting time gets and the better the competitors become, the longer takes this "dance". This isn't because they don't see their opponent as an "enemy" but because every single fault could lead to a lose on this high niveau.
I know BIOBRAUCE TM I think you didn't get it... what I mean is that they are great competitors, it takes time to analyze the opponent I know, but you can see now in fights that there is marked an admonition of time lose (I don't remember the exact time but I think that is 15 sec or 10 sec) . Also, the competitors are friends outside of the tatami but inside of it, they become enemies as I was taught.

Remember, the sport is just a tiny part of karate. But I second your thought on this.
